“The food is great. The service is great. The place is great. I've been eating here for years, and I genuinely love this store so much.

All around, Tokyo Joe's has great food and generally pretty great service, but this location always stands out. On a day where things aren't too busy and the order isn't too complicated, there's a chance your order might come out before you even have a chance to sit! It's genuinely so impressive! It's all super fresh, it's all super tasty, and it's all super worth it!

They're also great about accommodating allergies! It's a great spot to eat with lots of freedom within the menu!

Vegetarian options: Everything has a variant with either just veggies or (tasty) Tofu to replace the original protein.

Dietary restrictions: Super allergy friendly and they take allergies and dietary restrictions super seriously! I've never heard of someone not being able to eat at Tokyo Joe's due to a dietary restriction.

Parking: Parking lot right out front with bike parking next to the patio!

Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly with plenty of menu options!

Wheelchair accessibility: While it is possible to get in with a wheelchair, it can be difficult to navigate narrow parts of the dining room.“

After a long shift of work I thought sushi would be great for dinner. we were 30 minutes from closing Shannon, who I spoke to on the phone took my to go order Without a problem. Shannon is a complete delight. She’s so sweet and great to conversation. Definitely my top spot for sushi.“

“Such a delicious Japanese BBQ place! I really love how you can cook your own food and season it how you like! It's very much the Japanese version of Dae Gee! They have a nice selection of meats and vegetables to fit whatever appetite you've got, even offering an all you can eat option for those who are extra hungry. Excellent selection of drinks and zero proof drinks too. Some of the items take a while to cook, and the table can get crowded if you don't eat fast enough, but the waitstaff does try to pace giving you items! Otherwise, no complaints here. The nigiri offered felt over priced. I'm not sure if some of the offerings were what brought it up, but some cuts tasted amazing, some just felt like run of the mill. This wouldn't have been an issue if the "market price" wasn't so high. I'd love to have seen a breakdown. The nigiri pricing seemed way higher from other, less bougie feeling, sushi spots around and I didn't feel like each piece reflected that with the flavor.
Also $8 for Asahi beer. Had to have been something about the price of brick and mortar lol. $8 is a tall boy elsewhere

As others have stated. Service is extremely slow. My partner and I waited probably 20 minutes after we got drinks for someone to come by. They tried taking our order as soon as we were seated and then didn't come by again until 20 minutes later.

The atmosphere... It was nice. It was moody and modern and I felt like it was a good date environment and place to dress up. There's two different sides. The front of the restaurant is bright and casual and the back, where I sat, was modern and had some clubby beats and music playing.

“We love Kobe An and have been patrons going back 30 years since they were in Lakewood. Marco has done an amazing job with the new -er location and his staff is well trained. His newer sushi chefs are doing a fantastic job which leaves him free to focus more on the front of the house. We told him tonight that the sushi is the best it’s been in the 30 years we’ve been going to his restaurants. The hamachi and mussels were outstanding, as were the rolls and cocktails. The new Kobe An is the real deal.“

Vegetarian options: Great entree options with tofu and many vegetarian sushi roll options. We loved the sweet potato tempura sushi roll and shiitake sushi roll. The tofu lo mein had a generous amount of tofu in it.

Kid-friendliness: Peaceful eating environment and staff was friendly to our kids. They had great kid cups with lids and nice straws too.“

“Love the look and vibe of this place. Service was kind of slow. I got the curry Katsu chicken with rice and the gyoza. The gyoza was amazing and comes with five in an order. I would get it again 100%! The Katsu curry was not as good as I remember it being when I first went a year ago.“

“This is one of our go to sushi spots in the area. Great sushi and drink selection. Really love their lunch specials, especially the bento box. It typically comes with shrimp and vegetable tempura, rice, soup or salad (both if you get the salmon bento), and 4 pieces of either tuna roll or California roll.

Also love that there is hardly ever a long wait, that there are lots of table options, and that the vibe is casual. Service is also awesome.“
