“The food is yummy, and they'll hand out samples of their soup of the day and when I was in there, they put a top on my sample to take it with me, since I had a mask on. I really appreciated that. The soup was BANGIN, just on the salty side (but it was kielbasa and bacon so that's to be expected, frankly.) I love coming here. I look forward to the day they'll be taking cards, is all.“
“My wife and I just returned from our first visit to 1754 House. Our server, Melanie was very nice and did a great job.My wife had the grilled shrimp with corn risotto and I had the pull pork mac and cheese; both were excellent. The atmosphere was classic New England and was great.Definitely will be coming back“
“Atmosphere is great, quiet warm and cozy. nice bar and open kitchen. Staff is friendly and attentive. Price is a bit high but Everything was great... Besides the Meatballs. ($18) Seemed frozen. Or cooked bad Tough to break apart, chunky texture. Sauce kind of Bland. I'd give em a 5/10 My wife a 4/10. Would still go back as everything else was great“
“The vibes, the drinks, the experience is worth trying. I love the ever changing menu-- like a different experience everytime. Good apps. Not for a large party but I would say a group of 6 would be max. Make reservations. Service is good-- they make great recs.“
“First time, but it won't be the last. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We showed up without reservations, and the staff was very accommodating. We sat at the bar where Dave and the rest of the staff were very friendly and entertaining, especially with their banter.“
“The shredded hash browns were incredible!Vegetarian options: Avocados, hash browns, Toast, home fries, potatoesParking: Parking is within walking distance and free.Kid-friendliness: Booths to accommodate entire family.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible ramp that leads into diner,“
“Through he grapevine I heard Dew Drop Inn had the BEST wings in Connecticut, so I made my way here to try them out myself!Atmosphere/Appearance: Let me tell you. It's a windy road to get here. Lol. But set right at a very non-traditional intersection of North Avenue & Roosevelt Drive is this gem. The outside doesn't look like much at all and there's maybe 6 parking spots to the left of the restaurant then there's another business across the street that MAY allow you to park there. At your own risk of course. Once on the inside the spot looks super modern and energetic. The back wall is all brick, the walls are painted with solid colors and there's a lil' easter egg to the right of the front entrance of The Incredible Hulk busting through the wall holding a plate of wings. Lol.Service: We sat right at the bar and the owner Jason was there so he was serving us directly. He was funny, accommodating and just was a genuine good time. Hiba, Meghan and Rachel were also very accommodating.Food: So while here I tried 7 different flavors of the 126 that are offered. I'll break them down one by one...Pink Peppercorn Lemon Thyme: They came out of the kitchen SO HOT. Lol, so be careful not to burn your mouth. They were AMAZING. Deliciously salty from the Himalayan sea salt, lemony and rounded out with some good Earthy flavors.Pink Peppercorn Lemon Curd: This is basically everything I described above, but with a delicious sauce on top. The sauce was a little honey-strawberry-lemon sweetness that complemented the wing excellently.Cilantro Lime Tahini: The cilantro flavor was an excellent base, but this may sound strange... but it almost tasted like refried beans. There was also a good cheesy flavor involved as well. It was so different and executed very well. Not a spicy wing for those that can't handle it.Cajun Garlic Butter Bacon: These were easily the tastiest "looking" wings due to all of the bacon pieces on top and they smelled simply incredible. Again, temperature hot, but these tasted like they were cooked IN a garlic oil. My goodness. The bacon added a meaty, hearty, salty, bacon-y flavor that just went well with the garlic and Cajun seasoning.Truffalo: This one is easy. Truffle and Buffalo mixed together. Excellent. I'm truffle-biased so of course I'd love these, but I could've used more truffle if I'm being honest.Strawberry Habanero: These were refreshing.. The strawberry flavor was very prevalent and it reminded me of a sweet & sour from a Chinese restaurant, buy elevated. I didn't get a lot of heat from these despite the name, but I loved it.Ghostly Habanero: While I didn't find the heat in the last flavor, it was all here. This was the hottest flavor on the menu at the time and rightfully so. These wings were gritty, sweet from the peppers and the heat was INSTANT. The habanero gave that initial jumpstart of heat, but the ghost pepper is the one that ramps up over time. It took about 3 minutes for the heat to FULLY kick in, but it definitely did. I teared up, I was sweating and this is not a wing I could eat a whole bunch of. Delicious though!Peanut Butter & Jelly: These were the hottest temperature wings we've had. Lol. Peanut butter is so incredibly dense so it just held all of that heat in. These were served with fluff as a dipping sauce. They were savory and sweet. Done very well.Value: Chicken wings are already expensive on their own, so adding this level of skillset to cook them, the materials and all brings an order of 6 to $10.99 for "Basic Flavors". "Not So Basic" is 6 for $11.75 and "Basically Ridiculous" as well as "Dessert" wings are 6 for $11.99. You can of course order them in bigger denominations, but there are 100% worth it.In conclusion, sadly, I haven't been back here since June of 2022, but I want to come back SO BAD. It's just literally an hour away from where I live. Lol. I will be back Jason! Thank you for everything.“
“Dangle's is a black-owned business in well established downtown. The restaurant is nice and quaint giving you the feels of being connected to the owner and staff. The food was delicious - delivered hot and fresh. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It behooves anyone reading this to try this place out. You won't be disappointed.“
“An oldie but a goodie! I first went to this place in 2013 and really liked it, and recently checked it out and still think it’s great. Love the ambiance, the food is fun and adventurous and the service is attentive. One of my favorite spots in downtown New Haven!“
“We recently had the pleasure of getting a bite to eat at the Country Corner and it became more than just lunch. I was up in Bethany before COVID and had a wonderful meal then but upon walking in this time I was reminded that when you come here you will be welcomed like family. Between Cassie, Sandy and Moe they run a wonderful place. The place is beautiful and the food really does stand out. I had a Chef Salad which I was able to eat all of it. It was very big and very fresh. I truly enjoyed it. My wife ordered a Pistachio cake for dessert. ( I don't care for Pistachio) Well I ate half of hers. It was AMAZING! I was told it was made by Mom. She is so incredibly talented! You really could taste the love. I was told that Sam (dad) passed away a few years ago. You can clearly see and feel that his spirit lives on through their love and pride for this place. I look forward to returning and seeing especially what Mom has baked. ❤️??“
“They're new, been open only 8 months. Service is good, food was prepared nicely. The menu seemed full with both hot and cold items. I had a salad and a smoothie. The salad was fresh, the chicken was not overcooked and seasoned well. The smoothie was just ok, I felt like I could have made it at home. Prices are modest. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint inside a nice neighborhood..I will probably be back to try some other menu items.“
“I have eaten at The Meating Place many times always so delicious from the steak sandwich, fish sandwich, fried dough, hot dogs, sweet potato, regular fries and onion rings and for the cold weather delicous soups and they even had beef stew! They have specials too!! Well worth stopping and grabbing a meal to take home and in nice weather they have picnic tables to sit at and relax and enjoy this delicious comforting food!“
“Listen hear I don’t even leave reviews but this spot right here I just went for the 1st time I spent 85$ and omg everything was great the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had on the East Coast? and the homemade blue raspberry and strawberry omg plus the banana pudding IM ON MY WAY SLEEP NOW LOL JUST HAD TO LEAVE THIS POST HERE!!!!!“
“I 100% recommend this is the best place for dinner I've ever went to and trust me. I've been to a lot of places their service was just amazing, and their food was just out of this world, especially what they give you at the end this Oreo purée it is just such a good choice for dessert, if you want to go to a nice restaurant with very hot food and very good service I hundred percent recommend this restaurant. I am a very satisfied customer.“
“Have been to Oxford House Tavern a number of times since moving to Oxford in 2017 and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, selection of menu items and the drinks. The bartenders and wait staff have always been extremely friendly and inviting. The rib special is my favorite!“
“Yo this place is the TRUTH. So much good food for the prices. The way Mexican should be served…just moved here and it’s right down the street from my new apartment…needless to say I will be frequenting this location much more…5/5 if you want Mexican takeout in Waterbury this is it…“
“5 stars? I'm not sure because it's hard to judge by an egg sandwich but it was very good and my wife's breakfast was too. We didn't have time to sit so got it to go and decided that we have to make time to go back and eat there. We'll see you again soon!“
“I love the grilled chicken Cesar I like the Jay Grill burger it’s so amazing Caesar chicken salad dioblo burger is so delicious and buffalo wings thank you jaygrill I will definitely come againKid-friendliness: The music was kid friendly, and so were the servants everything was nice and fun and I feel like I’m at home“
“Me and my man go here on dinner dates often and it’s amazing every time. The food is really good and all the bartenders are really nice. We usually get Brie who’s always super nice and we never wait long for our food. I highly recommend this place!!“
“I have been to Philadelphia and back. I like to rate food sometimes. And by gosh this is one of the best steak and cheeses I’ve ever freaking had. So much steak great prices. Friendly, friendly owners, and staff highly highly recommend. Hidden gem. Hope you will read this :-) I also want to mention Ana… she should be running the place. Top freaking amazing service, so polite and so thoughtful.“
“This is my favorite place to get breakfast. The owner and family that run the business are amazing! The selection is vast, and everything I have tried has been delicious. The customer base is friendly, and I have run into people I know coming for a great meal. It is a cozy place. You can dine in or carry out. My favorite place, especially if you want a great bagel! It is a guilty pleasure that is worth it!“
“Excellent service and great food! We came on a Sunday for a private party, the service was awesome! Everything came out together and the servers did a great job handling 20+ people in the party. A great cocktail menu as well. The Kobe beef burger was excellent!“
“We stopped in here on a Sunday for dinner with our two kids. Ordered wings, some quesadillas and had a few beers. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful and friendly. Beer selection was great too. I want to try a burger next time, they're probably great.“
“Back in December 2022 I had my baby shower at East Street Eatery, and it was amazing. The food, the service the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. So perfect I came back to have my daughter’s first birthday party in 2/2024, and once again it was amazing. The service was impeccable, we had Nancy running our room and she was phenomenal. Gina, the manager is so attentive and was there to answer all my questions throughout the whole planning process. The food was so good, all my guests talked about how good it was. The price is so reasonable, for what you get. And we actually left with leftovers! Highly recommend for any occasion!“
“Simply tremendous breakfast and brunch food, atmosphere and service. The food is “Upscale Comfort Food” and is simply the best. From the coffee, Lattes, pancakes, incredible French toasts, omelettes, or specials like Shrimp & Grits. The breads and biscuits and other sides are all special. We went mid day on a Tuesday and there was no wait.“
“Went here for the Golden Gays brunch on 4/14. It was my first time here. Cute little place (minus the construction in the front) and they were PACKED for this event. My girlfriend and I ran late, and didn't have a table to sit at.. Mike managed to get a table and set us up by the vault (which was pretty cool, and much appreciated!)Once seated, I noticed about 4-5 servers running like CRAZY. It took us a while to get menus, but once we did, we met our waitress Elaine. Food and drinks also took a while, I ordered the chicken francese and a sex on the beach.. however once I got my food, it was cold. I told Elaine and she was very quick to rectify it. Once remade, it was delicious, definitely recommend. My girlfriend got the ravioli with meatballs- the meatballs were HUGE and she said they were very flavorful.Getting the check after the show was a whole big to-do as not only did one of their computers go down on probably one of the busiest days they've had, but a group of NINE wanted NINE DIFFERENT CHECKS from Elaine (Ms. Sherry who posted her 1 star review was one of them- and many of them in that party complained about everything from the start. I was seated right across from them). Needless to say, they caused more congestion. But- BUT, one of the long time workers, Marissa ( I will never forget her) cleared out the 9 drunken old ladies, myself and 3 other people behind me in about 10 mins! I have never seen someone move so swiftly and efficiently at a cash register!I stayed around after Marissa cashed me out (she is an absolute sweetheart and i could see the day had gotten to her) just to learn more about them and the place. I found out that 2 workers called out on the day of this event, it was only Elaine's THIRD shift, and they had other people to come in to help them. They were overwhelmed and it showed but they did the best they could and I went from being frustrated to understanding. This one event does NOT represent the people who work here and the food they serve. Elaine, Mike, Marissa and Dave (who I spoke to tonight to make my reservation for NEXT month) are people who love what they do and serve really good food! They know they have kinks to work out which is why I am willing and excited to go back next month for the 2nd Golden Gays brunch.“
“The food is always good, the staff is attentive without hovering, always pleasant and nice. Good menu with house specials, always perfectly cooked with great presentatio, not pretensious but not boring. The crowd has always been relaxed whenever I have been there. They have a nice patio. Plenty of parking. Prices are on par for what you would expect and the quality is always high.“
“Party of 3. We shared 4 appetizers which were all exceptional. Calamari, octopus, crab cakes with Brussel sprouts and a salad. Followed by dessert. Presentation of food was terrific. The service was prompt and attentive. I'd definitely return.“
“Every plate of food is Good News.Vegetarian options: Burritos, Thai red curry, pasta, salads and more seasonal offerings.Dietary restrictions: Very helpful and willing to do salt restrictions. Gluten-free and vegan and vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu.Parking: Right on the Main Street adjacent to a plaza, there is always parking available.Kid-friendliness: Patient staff, flexible menu and lots of yummy desserts for good boys and girls.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps are permanently constructed at entrance.“
“The lodge reminds me a lot of cheers! You walk in, and everyone starts to know your name… The weight staff is always very friendly and often strike up a conversation which I find something special these days. The food options are always great, and there are always a few specials on the list that catch someone’s eye. The draft beer choices are always rotating and changing which is great; often locally sourced. The bar area is always bustling, and offers a free pool table for patrons. There is also a large covered outdoor dining area for fair weather eating.“
“Great place, great food, staff very nice. Only reason didn't give 5 stars all around was atmosphere-more of a sports bar atmosphere not really my thing and not from the area so felt kinda like a newbie. Service was a bit slow but it was pretty busy. Fries were cold when I got them but they made a whole new huge batch and they were absolutely delicious! Best drink and food prices anywhere I've found! We will definitely be back!“
“A tiny take out only shop. There is no place to sit, no WC. The salad is very good though, fresh, ample size, great mix of vegetables and lettuce, flat bread, dressings. The drink menu is very good as well. The place is expensive, though. 12$ for a salad is a bit high. 6$ for a drink. But the food is healthy and tastes quite good.Service was fast, but a line forms faster. Expect to wait. Service was terse, not friendly, but that might be the pressure of the line. They is only street parking. The place is close to Yale, so there is lots of traffic. Order ahead if you can.“
“The food was amazing and incredibly filling, and the staff was super kind and helpful. The restraint can get a bit loud though. The bathroom was very clean too!I am vegan, and was able to order some rice and beans. I chose the small portion, which was pretty large. The food was incredibly tasty! Would come again!“
“We came in after a very long day of work and doctors. There were a large variety of options on the Early Bird Menu. We ordered the hot open roast beef. It was fantastic. The meal came with soup or salad and even dessert. We brought home the chocolate mousse cake and strawberry shortcake for later...and we even grabbed a couple of chocolate chip cookies for the grandkids at home. The service was absolutely fantastic. We didn't have to ask for anything. We will definitely be going back!“
“Had a great lunch at Sitting Duck Tavern today. The decor is dark but interesting. Our server was fantastic. I had fish and chips and a peach Sangria. Yes, they do have malt vinegar! Great beer batter, lots of fries, good slaw. The serving size was very generous and I took about half of it home. Hubby had a beer and the chicken sandwich, he ate every bite. They serve local craft beers.“
“It was great. I was hoping there was more traffic of people since it was late Friday night. But I guess most people were ordering online when my husband went there for the first time. The was was great and definitely filling. They also made great leftovers for the following day since we ordered two meals as I wanted to try the vegetarian and the chicken options separately.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“We really enjoyed our lunch. It's a family run place, there was a constant flow of patrons in and out (which is reassuring, and the help us from the moment we walked in , until departure. If I'm in Waterbury again, I'll surely visit again“
“As I've said many times. I love a Hole in the Wall spot. Bailey's Cafe might take the Cake.If you are near or far definitely stop in for lunch! I indulged in a savory Chipotle Bacon ? Ranch Burger made to order, fresh thick sliced vegetables with steak fries. The Bourbon Wings made me Regret only ordering 6 should've taken 12 more home ???. Sweet potato fries for the win crispy to the order, fresh coleslaw..... The Bill came to $37 something I tipped $15. Compliments to the Chef. If you are reading this go get the Bourbon wings ??????Picture below disregard my hand I was getting ready to devour that burger ?Parking: Parking all over. The Bar holds 87 at maximum capacity.“
“A friend recommended it and although it’s 35 minutes away, we tried it. Well, all I can say is tonight we were back there for the fourth time in seven weeks. The prices are absolutely fair, the Menu is very extensive plus specials we’ve had the Waitress (Melanie) Who is absolutely fantastic and is afraid to say stop don’t order that. It’s not that good tonight however, this is fantastic. And the food is excellent. Every time we’ve been there, we’ve taken food home for a second meal. Considering how many portions are under $24 with most of them under $20 that says a lot. How do you recommend a clam chowder, fantastic. So far I have had several pasta dishes of which both were so large. I took some home and I am a big eater. I also had a special sandwich tonight that came with aus jus similar to a French Dip but very very nice. My wife was upset because I ate it all. On Saturday evening, it can be a little bit noisy and we recommend sitting in the main dining room. However, we love sitting in the pub area in the table next to the electric fireplace, which is further away from the bar and it’s just very comfortable. The only negative we can come up with is because we like to eat leisurely and we tell Melanie to keep our food coming slowly we’re there for a while and the hard chairs make our butts sore. We wish we had pads on the chairs. If you’ve never been there, you have to try it.Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces with a good number of them for handicap and the in the four times we’ve been there, we have never had a problem. During golf season some golfers may park in the restaurant parking lot, which could be a problem but so far we’ve had none.Wheelchair accessibility: They have both stairs and easy wheelchair ramp with handrails on both sides“
“I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad!!!! The chicken was fresh and moist!!! The greens were fresh ; and it had just right amount of salad dressing . The drinks were not only affordable but well worth it !!!Vegetarian options: They have meatless options“
“Filets tips were amazing. The eggplant stack was good. It was a little loud but nice atmosphere. Service was ok little slow with drinks, they were just ok not amazing. I think he was new but very polite. Food came out fast.Above all I would totally go back!“
“Love G’s burgers. Always a good meal. I think it’s better than “fast food”. Why go to the chains when you can come here and get better service, better quality food, and a great price. I come here often. Love the burgers, the chicken tenders, and don’t forget…CARVEL ice cream is there too! My go to spot for a quick and delicious bite.“
“I was given a Groupon as a gift to go here and was pleasantly pleased! Our waitress was so attentive and everything form the Bread (with soft butter! I hate when it is still hard it was perfect!) the salad was very fresh and we both chose the Chicken Cacciatore which was so good! The place is cute and very clean! We look forward to go back and try something else! I saw the Nachos on someone else's table and they looked really good!!! Thank You!!!!“
