“Been here 5 times now. Everytime the staff is in a good mood, and food is even better. Even the guy on the phone was nice. The Food is really good, and I recommend this place to my friends all time. More of a take out place, there's tables if wanna eat there. And getting fresh food from here is cheaper than going to subway nextdoor lol. The menu has something for everyone too!“
“Definitely the best Chinese restaurant of the 6 we have in Bethel. My big takeaways are that this place is clean, food is hot and fresh and higher quality than the rest, and the couple that own it are friendly. One of my favorites is the chicken and vegetables in garlic sauce. The vegetable soup is also Great! If you live in the Danbury area, they are looking for Chinese food. This is the place“
“This place is amazing!! Their crab cakes are the best ever. My wife is a bit of a crab cake snob, and she absolutely loved them and they are her favorite ones now. The sauce that comes with them is amazing too. I kept putting my fried mozzarella in it. Speaking of which, the fried mozzarella is amazing too. Seriously, non-pornographic words do not exist to describe how good their food is. Their eggplant parm is also the best I've ever had, and my steak was amazing! Their prices are really good too. You seriously need to go here!“
“We got pizza delivered. Our dog has never acknowledged the food in the kitchen before, and is very well trained. Upon putting the pizza on the counter, our dog FLIPPED over the smell. It was out of character and shows how AWESOME the smell was. 10/10“
“The Barnwood is our go to for occasions as well just to eat out. The wait staff are very good . Our orders always arrive promptly, and as ordered. In addition to a well rounded menu there always are wonderful specials. We have never had a meal that we didn't like. The chef is inventive and steps outside of the ordinary with fish and meat selections. The only negative is that the acoustics are dreadful making it noisy when the restaurant fills up.Also the tables for two are small.“
“Onion soup, clams casino, chicken parm, crabby bucatini, crispy lobster bucatini, ny strip, lamb chops, lobster Mac and cheese, and Zuppa de Pesce. Clams casino and lobster Mac and cheese were a little weak, but everything else was excellent including Ali our waitress. Would definitely recommend and go back.“
“Just had the most magical dinner. We sat on the patio - had incredible cavatelli and broccoli, eggplant and baked penne. Iced cold dogfish beer. Chocolate cake to bring home. The owner is so sweet, always brings a fun energy to the evening. (We had a great convo about the nuance and patience involved in making carbonara properly.) View of the moon, no bugs, homemade bread with the salads. Summer evenings don't get any better.“
“Whenever boating on Candlewood Lake with friends we always stop at this classic restaurant on the lake. Service is attentive, food is good, plenty of choice for fish lovers and non fish eaters. Blackened Mahi Mahi, salads was delicious. Great lake views wherever you sit. Lots of seating on all levels. Service is attentive and friendly.“
“I stopped at the ancient mariner to grab some fried clam strips to go. Folks running the place are very nice. The food was ready on time and delicious as expected because this place was recommended by people working in the area that I know. I will definitely be back here again in the future.“
“My favorite restaurant in Bethel. The food is always on point, and the staff is awesome. Went for the first time during martini happy hour with friends, and the bartender Grace made me an excellent espresso martini. I've been coming back ever since and she always takes care of me.“
