“I had the General Tsao’s chicken and vegetable fried Rice delivered last night and polished it off BEST cleanest most DELICIOUS food!
The vegetable fried rice was so impressive, with all fresh hand cut vegetables including snow peas and zucchini and bean sprouts +++ and the Gen Tsao’s chicken was an absolute taste sensation!! Best I’ve had in years!!!

They also don't skimp out anything and make sure to give you all the sauces you can possibly want, even sometimes putting in a small container of sweet and sour sauce. “Open Rice Poke Bowl is one of my favorite spots in Stamford! The food is always fresh, delicious, and consistently good. I love that the menu offers a variety of options, so there’s truly something for everyone.

Favorites from there are the Thai Curry Noodle Soup, Hibachi, Mongolian beef, pineapple pork fried rice, szechuan dumplings, sushi is very fresh as well! Highly recommend!“

I was really impressed by the serving size, the taste/quality and the price. The server was very friendly and it cost just under $10. “The food was good - the soup dumplings could use a bit more soup. But the skin isn't too thick. The shrimp fried rice was exactly what you'd expect, with a good portion of shrimp. The beef chow fun was the right flavor too and not too oily. The seafood tofu casserole was yummy though we would have liked some chili oil to add. If you're ordering the casserole, I'd also recommend ordering white rice to go with!

The service is a work in progress. Got our seat quickly, which was great and the waitress was nice. Food came fast and hot, but the soup dumplings were delivered with no spoons for either holding the dumpling or for the sauce - we then had to wait longer for it, as the waitress looked for spoons while our dumplings cooled. Some easy things could be fixed to make a big difference.“

“I wasn't so sure about this place when I first tried it...... But I have to say some of the noodle dishes are very good..... The prices are very reasonable..... They deliver super fast.....
The steamed vegetable dumplings I really didn't like that much..... they were pretty doughie..... But the chicken fried rice with vegetables is very good and for $10 you get a whole large order for takeout....... I definitely would recommend.... You might have to overlook the ordering process a little........lo Mein was very tasty..noodles were good“

For the most part, the food was very good. Everything tasted fresh, had good flavor, and seemed like they use quality ingredients. We tried the bento box with teriyaki chicken and panko shrimp, which came with soup, rice, and fried vegetables. The whole bento box was really good and definitely something I would order again.

The chicken and broccoli was fantastic, which says a lot for me because I'm pretty particular about that dish. Chicken and broccoli can be very hit or miss depending on the restaurant, and this one was definitely a hit. The boneless ribs were probably one of the best things we ordered, and the pork fried rice was also very good.

The honey walnut shrimp was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I would order it again. The sauce was a little heavy and I didn't really get much honey flavor from it. It tasted more savory than sweet, almost like a sweet BBQ-style sauce with walnuts.

The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but it is pretty small. It's more like a small, cozy restaurant than your typical Chinese takeout place. There are only a handful of tables and a few booths, so if you're coming with kids like we did, just keep in mind that sound travels and everyone can pretty much hear everyone. 😂

Service was good overall. The woman at the front was very nice and welcoming, and our server was okay.

Would I give it a perfect 5 stars? No. But would I go back? Absolutely. The good definitely outweighed the things I didn't love, and there are several dishes I'd come back for.

I gave it 4 stars overall, mostly because the food was very good. For atmosphere, I went with 3 stars. I probably would have given it a 4, but the space is a little tighter than I personally like. It's not so small that it's uncomfortable, though, just a bit more compact than I prefer. If you're dining alone or with just two or three people, you may not even notice the size as much. We were there as a family with kids, so the space felt a little tighter for us.

If you're in the area, Kampei is definitely worth trying.
