50 Best Ice Cream Shops near Hamden

“This was my first time at Wentworth’s, and I’m so glad a friend recommended it—especially because they offer dog-friendly ice cream! It was my pup’s 8th birthday, and I couldn’t find a place that felt special enough until I heard about Wentworth’s. The team at the counter was amazing—so friendly, helpful, and genuinely excited when they heard it was her big day. My dog devoured her birthday treat (tail wags of approval!), and my mom and I were equally impressed. She had the chocolate chip raspberry and I had the peanut butter Oreo—both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, creamy, and just hit the spot. We left with full hearts and full stomachs. We’ll definitely be back very soon. Thanks, Wentworth’s, for making our celebration so sweet!“

“Delicious ice cream from a local and highly community oriented source. Kelly and her staff are wonderful and the ice cream is so good!“

“I love this ice cream place it is great place for friends and family!!“

“Tried this place for the first time last night, and it was delicious! I had the Dubai Chocolate flavor — you taste pistachio in one bite, coconut in the next, and chocolate in another — a perfect blend of flavors, yum!! My husband had the banana flavor and loved it. Generous portions & reasonable prices Also shoutout to the young employees! We were there at 9:15 pm and it was still busy, but all the staff were smiling & positive & friendly! 😊 Cute old-fashioned decor inside, a few benches outside. Will definitely be back!“

“Great milk shake and friendly service.“

“We went to Micro Creamery this weekend and it was delightful! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the ice cream. Good customer service is hard to find these days! The ice cream was delicious! They had several flavors to choose from. It was hard to decide on just one. The atmosphere is modern and cute! You can take a selfie pic with family and friends by the Ice Ice Baby back drop. Def recommend! We will be back! 😊“

“Ice cream is very good but my wife and I have been here 2X and our order was messed up each time.“

“I didn't have any gelato, but I did have something from the desert case, the chocolate trilogy, it was so delicious. Reminiscent of a triple chocolate cake from whole foods before whole foods became terrible. I was actually pleasantly surprised I finished the whole thing. I didn't think I was going to eat the whole thing, but I couldn't stop myself. This place is dangerous“

“I highly recommend Jennifer's Ice Cream! Not only do they have a large selection of tasty ice creams, but they also have dairy-free Italian Ice for me! Look no further if you're after a yummy treat with a reasonable price tag!“

“Not only is this ice cream shop serving amazing treats that are delicious with great service, but now they have a Food Truck to serve the yummy ice cream as well. “My family loves this place! The ice cream is fantastic with so many great flavors to try, and the coffee caramel espresso is hands-down my favorite. It's the perfect pick-me-up in the afternoon in lieu of an iced coffee :)
Also, there's no where else in CT that has cookie dough ice cream, loaded with cookie dough in each bite. The BEST.

The team here is always so warm, kind, and welcoming. We look forward to our visits every week!“

“Small ice cream shack attached to Riva Restaurant. Good variety of flavors and toppings. Some of the flavors were artificial, like the peaches and cream. They were out of strawberry topping that I had already paid for, but luckily they let me swap it for whipped cream. Nice view of the ocean from their rooftop seating area, but wouldn’t rush back for the ice cream itself.“

“The staff is always friendly and the black cherry soft serve us the best“

“Emily delivered top notch service during my 1st visit to Dip Top. Small but extremely clean store. Good variety of ice cream, toppings, shakes, sundaes, flurries & pre-packaged to go items. My hot fudge sundae was yummy. Very reasonable prices, too! I will definitely revisit when in the area 🍨“

“I would like to share my recent experience at Saray Bakery. A couple of days ago I placed my order over the phone and went to pick up on Thursday. There was a mistake with my order and it wasn’t ready. The employees seemed very apoplectic and told me to please give them 15 minutes and they will fix it. Even tho I was really in a rush i decided to wait. The ladies at the counter were so hospitable that you couldn’t be mad at them. The offered me a free coffee and 2 cookies. One lady came over to apologize again and explained the situation while the other lady worked on my order. They make my order quickly and put in another free pastry to go. That was so nice! At the end it’s not the mistake that matters it’s how they handled it and how they made me feel! Thank you lovely ladies at Saray Bakery I will be back :)“

“I'm originally from Texas and I was raised on food this good and well prepared, but usually you had to be invited to a Sunday cookout with your buddy and their 50 closest relatives for this level. The service is great, the food comes out quick and fresh, the flavors are top notch and very authentic for South Texas/ Northern Mexico. We've been twice and we're excited that we've found actual Mexican cuisine up here. Who would have thought Wallingford would have such a gem! Wallingford is for Foodies I'm quickly finding out.“

“Cupcakes are very good. Not too much topping and cake is moist. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!“

The creativity is alive in this joint, and whoever is coming up with these ice cream ideas needs a raise. I absolutely recommend coming a couple times, just so you can enjoy all the different things they offer.“
