“I do not care for subway very much but this review is of their new ROTISSERIE CHICKEN. It is much much better than any other protein they have to offer on the menu. It stays must even when you have the sub toasted and is not bland at all. My suggestion is not to load your sub with a condiment (i.e. mayo or chipolte) as the rotisserie will stand out rather well.“

“Was visiting New Haven last weekend (from Brooklyn) and had the pleasure of eating at Olmo not once, not twice, but three times!! For breakfast, every morning of my visit. The bagels so good, the menu so mouthwatering, the people so kind and welcoming— I couldn’t stay away! And I’m still thinking about it a week later…

The first morning I got the Hot Pastrami. It is, and i cannot stress this enough, DELICIOUS! A generous helping of pastrami—rivaling that of Katz Deli—paired with a mind-blowingly yummy spinach-artichoke schmear and some pickled onions sandwiched between a sesame seed bagel. Cannot recommend enough.

The next morning I had to try a new schmear (the schmear selection is thrilling). I went with beet and dill veggie on an onion bagel. Crunchy, refreshing, sweet. Yum.

I am a creature of habit so, despite my desire to try the basil feta schmear, the third morning I went with the Hot Pastrami again. Turns out lightning can strike twice, it was just as delish the second time.

This is a place that clearly loves their clientele and their craft. They were communicative, efficient, and so friendly. You immediately feel welcome. A must visit for any bagel lover who finds themself in New Haven!!“

Exceeded expectations, we had the carnitas tacos, burritos, and shrimp cerviche, then the owner was kind enough to bring out the birras tacos for us to try. “Usually their salads are delicious. But today i came by, right when they opened up (prob a mistake) and ordered a crispy chicken salad … My salad was done in about 5 mins …. ( how can chicken be cooked that fast?) Anyway, i tried to eat the salad for dinner. My croutons were stale, the bread was stale and tomatoes along with the cucumbers tasted like theve been sitting out from the night before. I doubt chicken was freshly made. I’m so disappointed. Next time i know not to come right when they open up.“

“This is to cancel the review likely coming today from a man who clearly just wanted a free sandwich. We ordered the same thing, steak n cheese no peppers onions. The wait was average considering it was lunch rush and neither of us ordered ahead. I went in prepared for that, he apparently was not. Moments before his sandwich was coming off the grill (obvious by time elapsed and people remaining) he demanded a void. They were working to complete while asking the cook how long, she replied 30 seconds. He said I don't care void it. They handed them the sandwich and went to void it and he threw open the sandwich on a table to inspect it for (I assume) unwanted veggies. Almost mad it was made correctly he packaged it back up and went to storm out while huffing. She muttered quietly I was going to void it but ok. Or something to that affect, I could barely hear standing next to her, but he heard something from just outside the door, so came storming back in, and said no you know what melt the cheese. I was going to accept it then I heard your snarky comment. So they re grilled it (cause now time isn't an issue for him I guess). Voided the transaction, gave him his change back and he asked for their names so he could write a review later on. I don't know how the entire team maintained their composure but kudos to Jersey Mike's of Branford for today's rude encounter.“

“11/09/24- I stopped by after work heading to the hotel and George was on duty. He was busy, but immediately acknowledged me and went to wash up and came back happy.

We discussed the subs and he recommended #34 Spcy Nachos Steak. He added the way it says, but without green 🫑, extra jalapeños.

This is day two experience and I don’t know if previous reviews were out of anger because I have had great customer service.

11/08/24- I haven’t been to a Subway in years and today I stopped by for the $6.99 special. I walked in and was loudly greeted by Ilvin who was friendly and made me feel like I’m an old customer. He made all the customers feel comfortable and happy to be there.

Subway has so many new meals I asked Ilvin about the different subs. Ilvin did not seem put out and he went over the breads, the meats and all the toppings. He made it easy to order but hard to choose 😋

I ordered #23 Hotshot Italiano Sub based on his recommendation and it did not disappoint because I enjoyed every bite.

He wasn’t stingy with the jalapeños and he added just enough sauce that it didn’t make the bread soggy.

Ilvin explained how to earn points. If he isn’t the manager he is manager material with his positive attitude. I asked about the other guy in the back and Ivin said they are a team. I was impressed he spoke well of his staff.

I leave in a week, but I may start eating a new subway every day thanks to Ilvin and my great experience! Ya Sabes! 😎

Kid-friendliness: I am sure they have a sub for every kid. If the kid is picky or not, chubby or thin there’s a sub on the menu for them.“

“I go every day to get coffee from my faves, Shelia and Camille! The Chai is my go-to, but I sometimes get a Caramel Macchiato from them if I need some more caffeine. Only issue is they always run out of bagels and pastries by around 11am and I'm lucky if I can get anything like that later on. Probably the best dining hall station on campus, but go early if you wanna get something to eat. They need to get more food inventory.“
