“Now THIS is how you go from 2 stars to a 5 star review!! I have not done this type of star jump in a very long time and to be honest, Flynn's Food and Staff deserve every single star. I was not surprised to see the spot fairly empty at 11:30 today for it was not packed when I first came here a few years ago to the disaster of the food and service that I had received. I noticed there was a different waitress today and she was spot on! From the greeting we received once we walked in, to how attentive she was once we sat down and her service with the other two tables....simply outstanding. This time around the mozzarella sticks came out hot and extra cheesy. So cheesy, the pull may have actually gone from the ceiling to the floor but what really took the flavor home, was the sauce my sticks came with. That level of home whipped up marinara sauce was insane baby!! So much flavor and you could taste the tomato broken down and diced up. Seasoned with love and only making my mozzarella stick, that much more enjoyable! Going with their New England Clam Chowder was also a decent experience. Chunks of potatoes and a nice array of clams that provided quite the luxurious bite, all I needed was the salt and pepper that I added upfront and this NE Clam Chowder had some "Slap Yo Mama" flavors going on. Their French fries were not greasy nor did they taste cold and forgotten but they had the mean double crispiness and already salted, which drove their bite into a very happy place with me. Now I am back on the Cajun Blue Cheese Burger and they got it right!!! The beef was real beef this time around. Seared up and juicy!! I had PLENTY of blue cheese crumbles all over my beef (unlike the single crumble from last time) and each chew was a pleasure to behold. Now this is a REAL BURGER that bites back with strength and I am here for it!!! I pitched everything at Flynn's today and they did not strike out! Each items was a HOMERUN and their service ran all of the bases!! I can't wait to come back and again, excellent job to the new Chef and the Staff here!!! This was a Revisit to be excited about!“

“I wanted to visit my ex coworker Zach @ J Gilberts and maybe get a Burger cuz that's what I had my only time there and its one of the best burgers I've ever had. Plus I didnt want to go too crazy. But when I got there Zach told me about the 16Oz Dry Aged Kansas City Strip Steak Special that they had. I decided to go all out cuz I wantedto see if their steaks measured up to their reputation. Zach recommended a Pinot Noir from Washington that was a perfect pairing for the steak. I gotta say the green beans that I had with a jam and crumbled pecans were insanely good with the garlic mashed potatoes. AND the steak had a nice charred exterior with a perfect juicy medium rare interior. I decided to treat myself and if you are ever thinking of doing the same go to J Gilberts and ask for Zach....you won't be disappointed....you will have one of your best restaurant experiences of your life!“

Calamari was really solid and my buddy got the Buffalo shrimp. They had a special swordfish entree with Lobster risotto and it was really quite tasty. Solid work per usual.Delicious clam soup and salmon dish. The spetzel (sp) was fun and unexpected. Also decent pours for your gin on the rocks. Bombay would be proud. Now the fries were good....Nice light Sweet and Salty vibe, they. kept you going back for more but these onion rings were made for the Champion in you! Large and in charge, crispy with a nice snap on the onions. It the batter for me that wasn't greasy but inviting. The Tso-ly Loaded Waffle fries, hit a homer and sent the rest of my appetizers to home plate and we all started to cheer within my mouth. What better way to bring about a wild and savory bite than to have some Ginger Soy coming in tangy and Chipotle Mayo barking up the right tree in way of packing a nice creamy yet spicy punch in my mouth over the crisp on that fried broccoli - TALK TO ME BABY and love me the way you do!!! I just worked you all the way up to their POT ROAST SANDWICH!! Yikes!! My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don't want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I've ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It's a gem in Cromwell that shouldn't be missed!“
“My wife and I had our first dinner at Vinted Wine Bar tonight. My wife has had a good amount of experience at Vinted, but it was my first time there. Top to bottom... TRULY EXCELLENT!! We shared a nice bottle of Daou Cab while sitting at the bar, and started with the Whipped Hummus, with Crispy Scallion Cake. Best Hummus you'll ever eat, and the warm crispy thin cake slices are very delicious with the Hummus. Terrific! Then we split and shared 2 entrees: The Chicken Milanese, and the Vinted Prime Burger. Both, also super delicious. Rich, flavorful, perfectly prepared by the talented crew in the kitchen lead by the executive chef, and partner, Mike Voight. Ate every bite of everything. Lastly, for desert we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. Holy cow, that is one incredible desert. Our bartender Chris was very helpful, friendly, and although busy had time to talk with us. And we found all the staff, extremely personable. Mike has a finely tuned ship in Vinted. We'll be back. #impressed“

“An absolute gem on the main drag in Manchester (not the mall area!) We came in at 5:30 on a Friday and we’re greeted right away. The drinks we tried were both fantastic. We ordered the Brussels sprouts app (my wife loves them, me not so much) and ended up cleaning that plate. We both did salads for dinner. Steak for the wife and I grabbed the cheeseburger salad and some wedge fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Dinner for two with an app and two drinks was priced well. The server was polite and timed her table visits just right. Don’t sleep on this one.“

“We have been talking about eating at Shady Glen for many years. Even though we grew up in the area it was our first time here. Just a heads up, this is a cash only place but they do have an ATM on site. When you walk in, you are immediately teleported back to 1950. It’s a quaint, retro diner, a little dated but very clean. We got the cheeseburger with the fried cheese and the cheesefurter, which is a hot dog with fried cheese. The fried cheese was definitely something you need to experience to understand. We loved it and we have never had anything like it. Also, I am kind of a Cole slaw snob and I actually loved the Cole slaw here, very good!! The overall quality of the food was excellent, definitely what you would expect from a retro 1950’s diner, the waitress was very attentive and sweet and we finished the meal off with some ice cream, which was also very good. We will definitely be going back soon, it’s a great overall experience!!“

But when I saw the specials, my plans went out the window. I chose an order of 2 specials: Turkey empanadas and the beef habanero tacos. Both were presented well and had phenomenal flavor. I don't want to forget to mention that both dishes had a nice kick... not unbearably hot, just a wonderful kick to the taste buds. This place is a great addition to the Old Wethersfield dining scene. There's indoor seating in a very clean and modern interior. This location was the Grange Hall and obviously has gone through a major renovation.
