“Hands-down the best Italian food I have ever had—and I do not say that lightly. I would absolutely drive 8 hours just to eat here again. That’s how good it was. I started with the burrata appetizer, served with baby arugula, fire-roasted red peppers, and prosciutto. Fresh, creamy, perfectly balanced. For entrées, I had the linguini with veal meatballs and I also tried the pan-seared scallops over cheese ravioli, with baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and wild mushrooms. This dish alone deserves its own standing ovation. This is the kind of place that reminds you what really good Italian food is supposed to taste like. So if you’re anywhere near Southbury or honestly anywhere in Connecticut, go. And if you’re 8 hours away like me? Still go. It’s worth it”

“Stopped in for the first time tonight, and we will definitely be repeat customers. We had the chicken bao bun appetizer, French onion chicken dinner & NY strip dinner. The only thing better than the food and cocktails was the service! Everyone who worked there was friendly and very welcoming. Loved every minute of our experience!”

“This deli is a HUGE asset to Southbury and neighboring towns. While food costs are rising and portions and quality is dropping, somehow some way Heritage Deli has kept their prices low and the quality is unmatched in the area. My favorite is the chicken, quinoa and sweet potato bowl - it is incredible - and I always have enough for two meals - at $8.50!!!
My husband gets the Tuscan Chicken sandwich also delicious and incredibly reasonable

“Food is excellent! Used to be an Oriental Gourmet in Southbury customer but switched because the quality and taste of their food degraded so much within the last year or so and never got better. Plus errors with take out orders were the last straw. Fortune House is definitely worth the trip from Southbury to Southford! Highly recommend this restaurant!”

“I’ve been a fan and customer of Villarina’s Southbury for many years for far too many reasons to list ... but the most important one is the owners who are family and treat everyone like family!❤️ This is a quick review to say YUMMMM!!! Before the “stay at home” order went into effect, I stocked up on their frozen dinners and lots of pasta sauce. Always love having these in our house and especially so now. We recently tried the frozen linguine w/white clam sauce I had picked up. It was our first time for this dinner and WOW! It was fabulous. My husband says it’s the best he’s ever had. It’s not something I typically eat but loved it. We’ll add it to our list of things to pick-up. Thanks as always!!!”

“To reviewer tmG9470YS - I think you have reviewed the wrong bakery. Our bakery is spotless, all our baked goods are baked fresh and we don't even use the dumpsters (we dont want to attract bears). So I don't know where you went and a found a dirty bakery and found box mixes in the dumpsters it was not Southbury Baking Company. It must have been another local bakery. “Stopped by for the first time after catching Spider-Man at Riverview Cinemas, and we are so glad we did! Grabbed a couple of slices each—the pizza was delicious and the place was spotless. Beyond the great food, the staff made our visit special; some employees eating lunch next to us kindly shared a plate of their delicious Mexican food with us. Incredible hospitality and great pizza. They deliver, too! We’ll definitely be back.”

“The sign on the door says please wear a mask regardless of vaccination status but when I walked in the chump behind the counter making sandwiches has his mask over his chin not covering his nose and half his mouth. What kind of crap is that?”

“My wife and I have lived in many places and we've never had a sandwich that was so delicious, even on the next day. We've eaten our way from coast to coast and this is my far the greatest hero, grinder, sandwich whatever you want to call it. We will never be getting a grinder anywhere else.
