Alao, you have to get the house dressing on the salad (its great drizzled in your pizza too)! Dont forget to ask for their fresly baked, warm br3ad. Great local experience right here in Southbury!”

“Food is excellent! Used to be an Oriental Gourmet in Southbury customer but switched because the quality and taste of their food degraded so much within the last year or so and never got better. Plus errors with take out orders were the last straw. Fortune House is definitely worth the trip from Southbury to Southford! Highly recommend this restaurant!”

“Hands-down the best Italian food I have ever had—and I do not say that lightly. I would absolutely drive 8 hours just to eat here again. That’s how good it was. I started with the burrata appetizer, served with baby arugula, fire-roasted red peppers, and prosciutto. Fresh, creamy, perfectly balanced. For entrées, I had the linguini with veal meatballs and I also tried the pan-seared scallops over cheese ravioli, with baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and wild mushrooms. This dish alone deserves its own standing ovation. This is the kind of place that reminds you what really good Italian food is supposed to taste like. So if you’re anywhere near Southbury or honestly anywhere in Connecticut, go. And if you’re 8 hours away like me? Still go. It’s worth it”

We go there often from neighboring Newtown.

Last time we were there though we had to eat and leave as quickly as possible. The band was SO LOUD that we could not say a single word to one another. I wished they had started playing before we ordered because we would have realized and just gotten up and left. I asked them to turn it down so people could speak. Nope! Couldn’t even hear the server asking us a question without yelling huh? What did you say? But we had ordered already so we just ate as quickly as possible, got the check and bolted. I will always call ahead now and make sure there is no live music.”

“The food is excellent, especially for the prices. The ability to order online is also super convenient, as it's probably about a 15 minute drive from my office and by the time I get there, my food is always ready for me to pick up and go. People behind the counter are very friendly and nice, I literally recommend this place to my friends and coworkers all the time, I'm here probably every other day.

If you ever see the Southern Pride chicken sandwich come up in their weekly specials, I cannot recommend it enough!”

“To reviewer tmG9470YS - I think you have reviewed the wrong bakery. Our bakery is spotless, all our baked goods are baked fresh and we don't even use the dumpsters (we dont want to attract bears). So I don't know where you went and a found a dirty bakery and found box mixes in the dumpsters it was not Southbury Baking Company. It must have been another local bakery. “I ordered a beautiful carrot cake from here. When I order I experienced wonderful service, and when I picked it up the staff was great. My order was also made very quickly. It was one of the best carrot cakes I’ve had in while.”

They need some relaxing jazz, Opera, Sinatra etc. However picked the music for an Italian Restaurand, knows nothing about a relaxing atmosphere!!!!”
