“Food is excellent! Used to be an Oriental Gourmet in Southbury customer but switched because the quality and taste of their food degraded so much within the last year or so and never got better. Plus errors with take out orders were the last straw. Fortune House is definitely worth the trip from Southbury to Southford! Highly recommend this restaurant!“

“After seeing a movie down the street, my family and I came to Oriental Gourmet for dinner. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant had a classic, retro vibe. We were impressed that they had so many different Asian cuisines to choose from! For our first visit we stuck primarily to Chinese food, but it’s good to know they have sushi too. Almost every dish was good, but my mom didn’t really love her Mongolian beef and said it had a weird grittiness to it. Our server was attentive and they refilled our waters often. Not a bad spot!“

“This might be the best take out Chinese. The food is made quickly and is always fresh. They have really good boneless spare ribs and lo mein. They also have Chinese tea, chopsticks, and sauce packets available. The owners are friendly. They have a small table to wait at too. Overall excellent Chinese take out.“

“I have tried afew places in Seymour. Picked up takeout tonight. General Tsao Chicken and shrimp, fried dumplings, fried rice and an egg roll. Everything was amazing and fresh. Vegetables in the dish fresh. Food was amazing and not bland. Way better than the other places I have tried in Seymour. Don't believe the negative reviews. This will be my new go to for Chinese food without a doubt.“

The kids (15 year old and were eventually caught) got my vehicle, my wallet, all my work equipment, a brand new pair of Jordan sneakers I bought for my friend for his birthday. Ihad to cancel all of.my cards and had no cash and I walked i to this restaurant and told them what happened and I only did it because I was sooooooooohungry my stomach was starting to eat itself. And I walked into the restaurant and told them my situation and I had no money but they hooked me up with some.food for free. That's it. These people are beautiful people. And the food is just as Beautiful as the people. Prior to moving to this town my.uncle who lived here told me that he used to try as much as he could to leave extra tips because the children were always studying in the restaurant and my m uncle wanted to contribute to their learning . “Best Chinese around and the wonton soup is to die for“

“Went for a meal to eat after a long day at work. Was looking for a simple, stomach filling place to eat for a decent price. This place was just that. The girl at the front who seems to be the daughter saw me and stood up to take my order. The food was ready in just a few minutes but they still tasted amazing. They're not world-changing, but you get what you pay for. I also had a nice conversation with the owner, making the space really comfortable. I've been to several Chinese takeout restaurants around states (I travel a lot), but this place gave me such a hearty experience I just had to rate it.“

The girl who answered the phone was super friendly, and the delivery guy was genuinely happy, great energy all around and I love that lol. And they had our food at the door in under ten minutes. Granted I’m like a half mile away, but still! Super fast delivery.

We got pork fried rice, egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, and chicken and broccoli. Solid 8/10 on the food, but the customer service, 10/10. “My happy place to go to. Even they are busy on the phone or waiting on customers the staff still great me in a very appreciate way. The family works hard everyday making the place a success. I recommend the lunch combons. Love the chicken and broccoli. My family is always happy with the amount of food we get and how hot the food is when it gets delivered to us. We get a free soda from the nice lady that works behind the counter. Have been going there for years.“
