“My experience at Oyster Oyster was wonderful. Every dish was creative and beautifully executed, and I loved hearing the stories behind where each ingredient came from. Everything we tried was flavorful and unique. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect five was that the main entrée (the eggplant dumplings) didn’t quite deliver the same punch as the earlier courses. It was still good, just not quite the showstopper I expected as the final savory dish. Overall, though, a memorable and thoughtful dining experience.“

The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. “I have loved many pizza places. None of them has been as consistently amazing as Martha Dear. The guanciale and arugula pie I had last night is another utterly stunning iteration. I will think about this one in my sleep. I will crave it. As much as I will stand on a soapbox telling anyone who will listen that Martha Dear is not just THE best pizza in the DMV, but one of the best restaurants in the area, it is the conspicuously kind service that is the first thing I will mention. If you’ve never been, put Martha Dear at the very top of your restaurant to-do list. The very top.“

“A very inviting corner restaurant, great for people watching and cocktails. The drinks were nice and the atmosphere was lux. We went on a Saturday and it just felt like they needed a manager around. Felt like they were really understaffed and not ready for the crowds. There were some people who had worked there longer and were directing others, and the food did come out of the kitchen timely. But there wasn't a sense of table service really, you just catch them when you can, know the candle won't get lit even after you asked and teach the server how to swipe the card. I wish they had someone tending to things, but maybe when it's slower it will be better. The pizza was good, and lots of pepperoni. I wished it wasn't quite as soggy in the middle but it tasted good. And the burrata had no flavor, no nice olive oil or pepper, very bland, but it was a hearty portion. Can't complain about the drinks. I can sense when there's no service concept so I hope they get it together.“

“Many people have described this place as the best pizza in DC. While it is good and definitely has that classic NYC style, it was not five star pizza. I got the Classic Pepperoni signature pizza with burrata and hot honey - very tasty.

I got it for takeout which may have also contributed to quality of the pie. A really nice touch was that they put the buratta and hot honey on the side, which kept the pizza crispier while I brought it home.

I hope to try a fresh slice at the restaurant someday soon. They have lots of selection between their own creations and the classics. If you are in DC and craving pizza, give them a try!

Parking: Parking here is difficult“

“My friend and I were attending a convention , and got out super late every night. We decided to check this place put because they are open super late.

The restaurant was pretty packed, as the building isnt huge, but we had absolutely no wait. The gentleman who took our order was even quick in giving me my change back.

The pizza was fantastic, and for 8 dollars me and my friend were both able to eat and were full after. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.“

“What a nice dinner! We were hesitant as my idea was to go to the Red Hen opposite the street, but I’m glad we did. Sitting on the terrace on a summer night was very pleasant (but bring a repellent). The waiter (Terry) was super friendly and relaxed, made a great pasta recommendation. The puttanesca fettuccine were indeed a treat, everything homemade and perfectly balanced, with a kick from the pepper flakes. The price is reasonable and we will gladly be back.“

“I’ve eaten here 3 times - everything I’ve had is delicious! I love the rotating menu. Octopus, croquettes, salads, pastas, pizzas - all amazing! Best pork chop I’ve ever eaten. Burger was 10/10. Staff is excellent and attentive. Food comes out timely, but I’ve never felt rushed. The restaurant is also a beautiful environment. I think it is the best restaurant in Van Ness/Forest Hills and certainly one of my favorites in the city.“

“I don't think anyone understands how good the Sorbillo is here. My boyfriend always wanted to go here for the New Haven Pizza, and don't get me wrong, I always would steal a slice of his pizza, but once I started ordering the Sorbillo... I mean, even I converted my boyfriend to the Sorbillo,

I have moved to California about a year ago and sometimes daydream about it - I consider catching a flight back to DC just to order one. A calzone or a stromboli do not equate to the Sorbillo here at Pete's, and I have yet to find one that amounts to it.“

“Had a fantastic lunch here. I like the outdoor seating, which was very accommodating for me and my dog. My waiter, Danny, was very friendly and very prompt. It was a very thoughtful gesture bringing drinks for both me and my dog. His lunch suggestion was spot on and was delicious. “Woah....this place is no joke! I am from the NYC area and was passing through D.C... I ate here 2 nights in a row...the best calzone, lasagna, chicken wings, pizza, cheesecake and baklava I have ever eaten, and my family and I often have Italian food. The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! We’ve moved from the area but always stop by when in town because it feels like home!“

“It has been a while since I've been on U Street and had a slice. But when it's 230 in the morning and the drinks are wearing off this is one of the spots to check out, get the pepperoni, and sprinkle the crushed red peppers the parmesan cheese will make the experience that much more better.“
