“I came here during my lunch break on a weekday. All the pizza options were available and I got the buffalo chicken slice. I don't make that much $, but the pricing was totally worth it. ($6 I believe) The pictures don't do it justice, but if you like NY style thin crust with that grease drip, you'll love this. The crust had that dough bubble that I love, and you could hear the crunch echo throughout the cafeteria. I would love to see some gluten-light offerings in the future but for now? A quick bite for good quality? You won't be disappointed.“

“This is, hands-down, the best pizza you’ll get in Washington DC. Being originally from Connecticut, it has been difficult to find really good pizza in Washington DC however over the last few years the options have gotten much better. This pizza joint blows all of them out of the water. To me, their Macharoni Is the best bite of pizza you can get in the entire DMV. It is also really difficult to find a good buffalo chicken pizza in this area, and this one is absolutely phenomenal. They’re dough holds up incredibly well, their pies are always perfectly cooked and never rushed even when they’re busy like some other places, and ingredients are a superb quality and really shine through. I have friends who come to visit once a year from Florida and New Jersey and each year they always request to go back to Bogey and Peele. Their pizzas deliver well with the green ingredients holding up through the delivery process. Their wings are solid and a good choice. The Caesar salad is always perfectly seasoned and dressed and also delivers well. I highly recommend eating there in person, it has such a great vibe, especially when you sit at the Counter in front of the kitchen. Also, don’t sleep on the Reuben.“

The pizza was absolutely delicious, and we also tried the traditional breakfast (ful), which was so flavorful. What really made the experience special was the service, Rahel took such great care of us and made us feel so welcome. The ambience was beautiful, with all the pictures and artwork of Asmara adding such a warm and authentic touch, truly making me feel like I was back home. “My best friend and I were visiting DC from Texas and we loved our experience here! From the DELICIOUS food, fantastic service, to the games and Photobooth downstairs - we really enjoyed ourselves! “A very inviting corner restaurant, great for people watching and cocktails. The drinks were nice and the atmosphere was lux. We went on a Saturday and it just felt like they needed a manager around. Felt like they were really understaffed and not ready for the crowds. There were some people who had worked there longer and were directing others, and the food did come out of the kitchen timely. But there wasn't a sense of table service really, you just catch them when you can, know the candle won't get lit even after you asked and teach the server how to swipe the card. I wish they had someone tending to things, but maybe when it's slower it will be better. The pizza was good, and lots of pepperoni. I wished it wasn't quite as soggy in the middle but it tasted good. And the burrata had no flavor, no nice olive oil or pepper, very bland, but it was a hearty portion. Can't complain about the drinks. I can sense when there's no service concept so I hope they get it together.“

“I have loved many pizza places. None of them has been as consistently amazing as Martha Dear. The guanciale and arugula pie I had last night is another utterly stunning iteration. I will think about this one in my sleep. I will crave it. As much as I will stand on a soapbox telling anyone who will listen that Martha Dear is not just THE best pizza in the DMV, but one of the best restaurants in the area, it is the conspicuously kind service that is the first thing I will mention. “We love Washington DC so my wife and I wanted some pizza. We were staying at the Embassy suites in NW so I googled pizza that was close by. Pizzoli‘s pizzeria came up. It looked good so we took an Uber there and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. Made from scratch good. We were a little bit surprised in that it was a smaller establishment as we thought we were going to a place that had lots of tables, etc. This place has one inside table and five or six countertops to eat at and then they have several tables outside but as noted, the food was fantastic. Would certainly recommended, and we will be back home future visits.“

“In D.C. there is plenty of average pizza, and some above average pizza.

But exceptional pizza is tough to find. Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza is exceptional.

The service was fun.

They must use only certain ingredients, only a specific type of oven and dough to keep their Neapolitan rating issued by the Italian government.

If you want a better pizza you can go to NYC or Italy, but in DC, Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza is a good as it gets.

First, the flame fired dough with burnt brown and black bits on an actual Italian pizza dough.

Second, the list of ingredients are approved by the Italian government -- no pineapple, no ketchup and no ranch and buffalo wing sauce -- just cheese and three ingredients.

I had cheese, sausage, garlic and mushrooms on mine -- it was SO GOOD. The mushrooms were so great, not canned, not thin, but thick and sauteed and tasty!“

This place is ran by carb loving, cheese loving, and quality loving angels.
I drove 8 hours to DC. Got to my air BNB and needed something to make the drive worth it. I believe divine intervention placed me where I was so that when I looked up pizza the closest place was Mad Over Pizza
I got the supreme pizza and the cheese with extra cheese and MAN did they deliver.
I ate both pizzas. With a glaze in my eyes I then devoured 2 orders of their delicious garlic bread.
The owner even threw in some extra garlic sauce because “while you didn’t order it I want you to have the best experience possible”

Got the supreme last night and the toppings tasted like they just picked and chopped the vegetables. My cheesesteak was excellent. A solid jumbo slice with an extensive menu is a rare gem these days. Sometimes the food takes a little long, probably because they’re making it fresh. Skip the other places and come here.“

But the value, the flavor, the experience and the ethics at Oyster Oyster have us wanting to return each season as the menu turns over and they weave in new seasonal, local, sustainable delicacies.“
