“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. We got the red beans and rice, gumbo and tomato soup and we need to try the rest of the menu! My husband and I just got back from New Orleans and my husband was sad because he loved the food so I googled and found this place! The gumbo was literally better than we had down there 😍 SO GOOD. And everyone working when I picked up (one was the owners daughter) were so passionate about how they make everything from scratch and kept giving me samples of everything and telling me their story. The bronzino was perfectly pancakes, crisp and flaky inside, squid ink pasta with shrimp was sublime, tuna tartare melted in our mouths and the deserts were stellar! 1 piece of kofta shouldn’t cost nearly $8.. The lamb chops were a bit bland as well but cost almost $30 for a platter.

Our first time at Kid Shelleen's. It was much bigger than it appears at first. We had our two granddaughters with us, one is very vocal and not great at getting food into her mouth. We were conveniently tucked into the back corner where we didn't bother any other patrons, thanks to the wonderful staff. So thankful for their kindness and attention.“
