“I lived in Lake Wales for over twenty years and I love Al’s Place the friendliest bar in town, remind me of the old tv show “Cheers “ when everyone knows your name. The beer is cold, the food delicious and they give you plenty. On your first trip there you will get initiated with the yardstick and become a member of the family group. My son and daughter got me back in Pennsylvania as I age to see that I have proper care, but promise me every so often the would bring me back to Lake Wales to visit all my old friend. Looking forward to February at when they celebrate the the holiday Mardi Gras and have a great time with all my old friends…..It’s a pleasure…Thank You.“

“We had dinner with my parents last night. They drove down from DeLand so we could have dinner here. They used to live in Dundee and miss going there. My father and I both had steak. I had top sirloin and he had the fillet. My wife had Haddock stuffed with crab meat. Mom just had shrimp cocktail. Everything was cooked exactly how we asked for and was scrumptious! Our server, Angie was absolutely incredible! She was more than tentative and we really hit it off great with her. She had a great personality and sense of humor. Can't wait for our next visit! “Went to the location 2 days in a row for the resort provided breakfast. I want to give a great thanks to Abigail and Jonathan.Abigail was wonderful as she had the same name as my wife and daughter! What a coincidence. Abigail was very friendly and was prompt with any of our needl. Abigails run the world lol.Jonathan on day 2 was full of conversation and was extremely welcoming. We learned a lot about Winter Haven and the area from him. Jonathan made a great impression and is an asset to the location. I hope you get waited on by Jonathan. Jonathan alone is a reason to come back. He was attentive and was prompt with any of our needs.We will come back! Thank you Legoland and Sandy Castle Restaurant!!!“

“6/2724 and 6/29/24-Was five star (*****) the first time so all 4 of us voted to come back.
We were here for 3 days for a wedding and did not return to the first place we tried
Both servers were VG, food was VG and plentiful.
It is great to see a restaurant excel in all ways like hey do.
Others complain about slow business, you just do all the right things and bring people back.

“Erin was our server and goodness is she great! She handled our large party like it was nothing. Super impressed by her kindness and patience. At a time where she could have been overwhelmed, she handled it like it was a 2-top. 10/10 recommend. Oh! And the brisket was 200/10 I mean seriously some of the best brisket in Polk county!

“This is a great little diner. We enjoyed breakfast previously and wanted to go back to try their lunch. The service is always very friendly, efficient and prompt. The food is delicious. Hubby had their burger melt and said it was one of the best he'd ever had. I had the catfish fingers which were huge; more like fillets. Highly recommend for a good, quick bite to eat that is also very affordably priced. They usually only do breakfast and lunch, but they also now offer an all you can eat fish fry on Friday night.“

“We had breakfast this morning for Veterans Day. Of course they were slammed. Outstanding staff from the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out. We had to wait for our food but while we waiting we noticed how well the staff worked together. The wait staff was complimenting the kitchen and wait staff helped one another. Yes the wait was long but we didn’t mind. The meal was outstanding. Thank you so much to the staff. We’ll be back. They deserve 5 stars.“

Even though we couldn’t find it on the menu, they offered us an option of chicken nuggets for our son instead of a burger. And the prices are still as great as I remember too! “5 stars to our curbside server, Jimmy... friendly, funny and definitely put a smile on our face with a quick whit, much needed after unfortunately sitting next to the dumpsters waiting for food to come out. I would suggest moving curbside to the front of the building, smells pretty bad when the winds blowing.

“Great lounge to have a bite and a drink. Honestly, I only have been here on the weekends. On Friday and Saturday nights, it's always a great time. You typically find a puerto rican crowd with a blend of island music played by the DJ that is from a popular radio station. They have a good dance floor, a pool table and they host pay per view fights and sports on their dollar not charging a dime. This is a very underrated place. Prices are great as well and the food is actually very good, love the alcapurrias. Hoy se bebeee.“
