“Harriette's Restaurant Bayside, Mile Marker 95.7 Key Largo, FL 33037 4 Stars Stopping for some morning chow at Harriette's Restaurant in Key Largo should be a requirement for everyone traveling down the Overseas Hwy exploring the vast beauty of the Keys. However, once again, my taste buds are ahead of my fingers and I get ahead of myself. As I entered Harriette's Restaurant, I was immediately transported back to my Grandmother's house on the Sebastian River. Not only was the outside reminiscent of a bygone era, the décor ; screamed mid-century time capsule, however, it was the scents assaulting my olfactory orifice that had me looking for my favorite chair at Grandma's table. This may be in the Keys, but I am confident that it ain't no tourist trap. Christina was my server for the meal and was exemplary in every way. She began her service with a sincere, warm Southern greeting, making all her customers feel like family. We are in Grand Ma-Ma's house, after all. I asked my new favorite second cousin twice removed on my mother's brother's babysitter's side for a stack of Pancakes, an order of their Corned Beef Hash, two eggs over medium, Sausage Biscuit, hash browns, and one more biscuit as they looked so good. While I didn't try one, If you take a peek at the pics, you can see that they have quite a panoply of muffins and are well known for them. Christina soon returned with our Southern viands, and I eagerly got to work. Have I mentioned the aromas disseminating about the place? I slapped some butter on the stack of fresh-off-the-griddle Johnny Cakes, poured some real maple syrup over the top and plopped a forkful in my mouth. The cakes were warm, fluffy and delicious. Nothing beats a flapjack right off the griddle with real maple syrup. Nothing. However, I wasn't here to enjoy sampling their delectable delights; I was on a mission to bring you raw, unadulterated food reviews. To that end, I turned my fastidious palate to the Corned Beef Hash before me. This was quite good. I don't think it was made in the back, as the cut was too uniform for most line cooks. If it was food service Hash, at least it wasn't bottom-of-the-truck stuff. It was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My eggs were cooked correctly, the hash browns were obviously made fresh to order and the sausage gravy was spot on. Finally, the biscuit was not only gigantic; it was obviously made with love and pure devotion to the obvious -- care. Is this place going to win a James Beard award? No. Is it my new favorite place for breakfast in the Keys? Maybe. I know one thing for sure: Harriette's Restaurant is an excellent breakfast for a splurge vacation to the Florida Archipelago. The Big Boy says, “Enjoy the homemade grub and if you try a muffin, please let me know!”“

“My family and I were headed on our way out of The Keys. We were looking for waterfront with some good reviews. We were so surprised to find this hidden gem. From start to finish, all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The outdoor dining is creative with little water fountains and cute decor. The food was some of the best and freshest we found in the Keys. My husband loved the ribs, said they were “on point”. My sisters fish tacos were so fresh ..they had to have caught it that morning!? She raved about it. I have to say that my salad was one of the freshest I’ve ordered at a Seafood restaurant. Props to our waiter Steven, he was refreshingly funny and exceptionally attentive even though they were very busy. Some of the best service I’ve ever had to be honest! I don’t know how this place isn’t 5 stars? People Need to rate when it’s great too!! We will definitely be back!“

“Oh my… it was delicious. My daughter, who is very picky, ended up eating half of my cubano because she said it smelled so good and once she tried it she was hooked.

We ordered online and it was ready when they said it would be. Walked into the restaurant and was greeted right away with a friendly hello.

We got chicken, beef and spinach empanadas and the plantains. I thought the spinach was the best. We also ordered chicken kids meal and they came with tons of chicken fingers and fries.

Haven’t left the island yet but we will be back for sure! I enjoy supporting local eateries that provide delicious food.“

“This place is a great hole in the wall. It has a no frills ambiance, but our server was fantastic. We had the legendary conch fritter. It is huge and so perfect, with tender conch and a sweet type of batter. If you are an uptight picky pants, move right along.“

“The resort has beautiful grounds and well maintained. The drinks at sunset is a really lovely touch, and the pizzas at Dry Rocks were exceptionally good. However, the room we stayed in (which has a kitchenette) needs work and fails to provide the basics which I would think is a health issue ie. no dishwashing or handwashing liquid. There is also no kitchen plug to wash dishes. Considering the daily cost, I would have thought that these would have been provided. Between booking the resort and arriving, the resort changed from self parking to valet parking and failed to communicate this and the increased cost. I wouldn’t have booked knowing it was valet only parking as we would rather be self sufficient and have easy vehicle access. On this basis, although we enjoyed ourselves, we wouldn’t stay again at the resort and would consider another option.“

“Really good meal the comforters were excellent. When it comes to a fish sandwich, you always have to judge a restaurant by their tartar sauce. Any decent restaurant makes their own tartar sauce. Skippers was excellent.
After I was there for a few minutes, I realized 10 years ago my brother law, and I sat at the bar outside and watching an Alabama football national championship game. That was a great memory.
