Still waiting for them to ask how everything is… we came through last year and had a totally different experience staff was super friendly and engaged even though the place was packed. We caught them at turnover and they couldn’t care less. We talked about hitting craft as a high point for our one night in Miami before cruising… and now we won’t bother going back to Bayside.“

“This was excellent italian food. We got the gnocchi, margharita pizza, and lasagna. The pizza was delicious, baked fresh in a wood burning oven, but omg the gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had. Def a small business, cozy vibe, not a wine-n-dine place, but just what we wanted.“

“Everything about the restaurant was great. Our server Jaslyn was very attentive and ensured we got our meals exactly how we wanted them. The allowed us to change our sides with the bay back ribs which were really delicious. When we were leaving one of my friends accidentally dropped her passport and we were travelling early the next day. The restaurant called us and notified us and we were able to return and retrieve it. That saved us a lot of anxiety and stress. Overall a great experience and we will definitely return again.“

“We generally have good experiences at Mariposa, but in this case we were seated at a bistro table by the bar and the bartender served as our waiter. In short, his service was mediocre at best (forgot our starters and made an error on the food order) because he was tending to drink orders and other guests at the bar. Do NOT sit at the bar if you visit Mariposa.“

“We walked there in the evening and had a reservation which we booked about an hour before we arrived. The food and service were excellent, our waiter was very helpful and our drinks arrived quickly. It had a real feel of a french establishment and we started with a couple glasses of Sancerre. The flavor of the french onion soup was extremely well balanced and I highly recommend their pepper steak (au poivre) which is done with filet mignon. The cook on the steak was exactly what I asked for and you can tell the chef is precise and confident with all of the dishes. The atmosphere was pleasantly subdued, dim and had its own flair, you can tell the reason this place has been around so long is because they have a reputation for success. I think either the manager or the owner stopped by our table to check in on us as well, which we appreciated. We ordered their prawn special and my wife was thrilled with how it came out. I want to go back for some escargot and try their other dishes sometime.

This place is 100% recommended.
They made me the best salad ever. The crispy chicken poblano they suggested was simply incredible.
Kelita told me that I could turn the salad into a wrap for 1$ extra, I'll definitely try it in a wrap tomorrow.

The only drawback we found was the service was a bit rushed, Example before we had finished the Chardonnay and had time to comment, the Pinot Noir was served and so it went with all the courses. “Sakura is where I, as a 7 or 8 year old kid, tasted my first piece of sashimi. It was Hamachi, and it changed my life. Over the past 40 ish years, Sakura has remained a constant in our lives. From working lunches to family and friend dinners, celebrations, and everyday weeknight dinners, Sakura has been a favorite. It has not changed much, and that is a very good thing. Wonderful people sharing their wonderful food with South Florida for that long says something amazing about the food and the family here. “The food has always been excellent and all the years I’ve been coming to the art house. The amazing amount of beers they have is incredible and hard to match anywhere else in town. The place is a lot of fun, with large screen TVs everywhere for any of the sporting events that could be on at the time. Because the place is super busy, service could be excellent or it could just be adequate. Depending on how overwhelmed the server is at the time. But I wouldn’t let that detract because you just sit there and drink your beer and watch TV while you’re waiting and things seem much better.“
