“Wow ! Very unassuming location !! Very beautiful renovation . The food speaks for itself Extreme high-quality for all you could eat ,I typically would be the last person that would go to anything of that nature as I would rather have quality than quantity !It definitely exceeded my expectations !there was a tremendous amount of food as the five of us dined ,as restaurant owners of Zagat rated restaurants through out the Us ,it takes a tremendous amount of talent to inspire us to write a review! Not to mention if the bill was 2 times as much we would have enjoyed it as much great service as well!!!!! Hopefully you have the sever Icha... she was fantastic!!!!! ENJOY !!! It's fantastic!“
“very good establishment! My white, caucasian family of 1 and my dog, 约翰塞纳, really enjoyed the scrumptious food, but the chicken was not boiled to my liking and the salt was too spicy. My dog, 约翰塞纳, loved fortune cookie and his fortune read "luck will find you one day". HAHAHA! “
“Not only was the food authentic and delicious but the staff was extremely attentive. We had Sylvia has our server, she was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. They also had a nice kids selection which I appreciate when dining with my young children . We very much enjoyed our meal and will be returning soon.“
“Amazing!! Hands down the best in sarasota! The food is so fresh tasting! Extremely Friendly and fast service. I cannot say enough good things. A million stars out of 5. My family will be regulars! My picky elderly father even loved it. My 12 year old says, “it’s amazing!!!”“
“Food is very good and they are always quick to make it. I never have any complaints on portion size. Atmosphere, well this is more or less a great place for take out Chinese as the restaurant itself is just so so thus why I gave the atmosphere a 3 star. People are very friendly there and we have been going to this place for over 10 years now.“
“I order from here fairly often, and have no complaints. They are quick with preparing, and I've always gotten friendly service. Do I expect mind blowing gourmet food, for these prices? Of course not...but so far it has always been tasty! (3⭐ for atmosphere because I always take it to go)“
“When you're on vacations with your entire family you know for a fact we are only eating Chinese cuisine. We found Dim Sum King through Yelp so this was it for our breakfast. It stated that it recently opened in Sarasota so we were like cool let's give it a try!According to my cousin who was getting married this weekend and comes with his wife all the time it's good so we had to give it a try then again there were only two choices for dim sum in Sarasota area. With that being said, dim sum is available all the time. Good soups which come in very big bowls that serve 4-6! We love their seafood and Tofu Soup. Dim Sum selections are heavy on shrimp fillings but everything we tried was good. We had chicken feet, steamed spare ribs in black bean sauce, steamed bbq pork buns, crispy fried sesame balls, pan fried turnip cake, Shu Mai, Hong Kong style egg tarts, crispy baked boq pork buns (wayyyy too sweet for me), deep fried taro cake, steamed rice beef rolls, Portuguese style creme brûlée tart (to die for! 50o delicious), sticky rice, and the list goes on, mind we were about 30 of us almost filled up the entire restaurant!Service was extremely slow and some waiters were a bit rude but sometimes slow the kitchen was often slammed with take out especially we went on Friday (food wasn't very fresh) then on Sunday was sooo delicious; go on Sunday's for dim sum!The food itself was delicious so it was worth the occasional wait! Plus if you have to wait for a little it means it's fresh!Vegetarian options: Some itemsDietary restrictions: Some itemsParking: First come first serve basisKid-friendliness: If your child isn’t a picky eater!“
“Stopped in to sit down for lunch after looking at reviews, Nam Fong was delicious!! Egg rolls are the best I've ever had, lightly battered.Hot and sour soup was also very good and Singapore noodles did not disappoint. The only thing I didn't like is that they serve your food in "to go" containers.Very friendly & attentive!!!“
“So glad we went in and tried their food, so good! We also used them to cater our wedding rehearsal dinner and they did not disappoint on the great quality of food and the quantities, we had left overs and they were still great a few days later. Highly recommend them and their food!“
“First time I tried this place, the food was delivered 40 minutes early (she said they weren’t busy) hot and delicious. I got the Singapore noodles with chicken. Fresh noodles, ordered spice on the side and did not eat it, but I don’t do real spicy. The pan fried potstickers were delicious too. They use the thin wrappers not the thick wrappers. There was a promotion for free pork and egg fried rice if you ordered a certain dollar amount. The rice could have used more egg and pork, but it was free and the flavor and consistency were good. Happy to have found a delicious Asian deliver place!“
“The best Chinese food ever! I have gotten take out from them for about 6 years. They give you a lot of food for cheap, and the food is delicious. They are friendly and always remind me to take sauce packets on my way out. I would highly recommend them as the best Chinese food I have had in Sarasota.“
“Went for dim sum. Overall good experience. Wish they had the carts. Dishes were good. Roast pork buns were dry. No diet coke. Sticky rice and shu mai were my favorites. Waiter was very good. Would go back but there is definitely better dim sum in bigger cities.“
“Pretty Thai restaurant tucked into a strip mall right on the corner. I smiled the moment I walked through the door! Natural wood on the walls and carving everywhere, big beautiful chandeliers, and sparkling white lights. Never seen such a beautifully decorated Thai restaurant before. And they also put the same effort into the food presentation. The actual dishes are custom-made and everything comes out appealing. My spring roll was crispy and light. Ordered one of the chef's specials, chicken and broccoli in a tasty brown sauce. Yum.“
“The Best Chinese Restaurant in Sarasota. Me and my husband love it . They have the nicest grandma Chinese cook . She always comes to greet us and to make sure to explain what box is which dish ordered . Really nice family running this business.“
“Tried this place for the first time today. Service was amazing, store was clean when I walked in and food was perfect. The only thing I would suggest is that they take some of the rice out of the lunch specials and add a veggie. Check them out.“
“Recently, my family and I visited this restaurant that specializes in Chinese cuisine, which holds a special place in our New York restaurant culture. Initially, we were disappointed to learn that they were unable to prepare General Tso's shrimp due to an issue with the breading. However, being already at the restaurant, we decided to give it a chance. To accommodate my son's allergies to sesame and soy sauce, we ordered a large shrimp fried rice. I must say, the way they catered to his dietary needs with that dish was truly amazing and commendable. The flavors were on point, and it left us impressed. My partner and I opted for the shrimp with broccoli, which, although not exactly in line with the "New York" style we're accustomed to, still managed to satisfy our taste buds. The dish was well-prepared and enjoyable.I would give the food a 3.5 out of5, as it fell slightly short of our expectations. While it didn't quite capture the essence of "New York" Chinese cuisine, it was still good. As for the restaurant's decoration, I would also rate it a 3.5 out of 5, as it lacked the vibrant atmosphere we usually associate with Chinese restaurants. However, where this establishment truly excelled was in its customer service. We were delighted by the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and ability to accommodate my son's dietary restrictions deserves nothing short of a perfect score. Thus, I would give the customer service a well-deserved 5 out of 5.Overall, our experience at this Chinese restaurant was a mixed bag. While the food and decoration fell slightly short of our expectations, the outstanding customer service left a lasting impression. If you're looking for a place that goes above and beyond to cater to dietary needs and provides excellent service, this restaurant is worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the food might not perfectly match your "New York" Chinese cuisine expectations.“
“Went there during my vacation at Sarasota. We stopped there almost every day of the week. It was one of the best Chinese restaurants I've eaten at, with some of the highest-quality seafood in the world.Have an Auspicious Year of the Dragon!“
“As a resident in Sarasota for more than 8 years now, Wok Inn has taken a special place in my childhood memory. I explicitly remember, years ago, that we would have dinner at Wok Inn every Sunday. It's a small, family-ran, business, but the work is well organized. Their service was excellent and have special treats for my brother and I.Even during the pandemic, they were one of the only restaurants to remain open and maintain their food quality. I understand that there were a lot of changed, we could not dine in for nearly 2 years, but just the sheer difficulty to operate a restaurant when public health safety is a concern is unimaginable and their ability to continue to cook delicious food is nothing other than the work of God. They had the door blockage for a long time and only offered take-out. It was amazing that despite being muffed in a container for more than half an hour, the flavor of the food was still mouth-watering. The texture of the dish and temperature would definitely get a little mushy and cooled, but hey, you can't do much about thermodynamics and osmosis of something after it has been sitting in the container for half an hour.Till today, Wok Inn still is my go-to place for Chinese food in Sarasota. To be specific, American-Chinese food. While yes, it is not authentic, but that's pretty much a common factor in all Chinese restaurants in a city without a large Chinese population. We have seen some changes like their "Get something free when your order is ..." and the changes in dine-in. They've removed most of the tables for dine-in when they re-opened back in 2021-2022 and progressed into a "Take out only" restaurant. You can still sit down and eat, but they do not offer any dine-in service like before.Anyways, this is a review from a customer who had 8 years of experience at Wok Inn, and I'm telling you that the quality and deliciousness of their Chinese food has been consistent as it was 8 years ago. They've become like family to me and always welcomed customers whole-heartedly. Thank you guys SO SO MUCH for being part of my life and I wish your restaurant and family nothing but the best in the future.Vegetarian options: There are dishes for vegetarian/vegan friends. I recommend the Mapo Tofu. Its got a nice kick of spice which I love, but other options like the Buddha's Delight and Vegetable Chow Mein (Sidenote: Chow mein is not a noodles dish. It is all vegetables.) are fitting for those who cannot handle the spice.“
“Man okay first let me start off by say the service here was great the staff was so nice and accommodating. Our waitress was so nice and on her game. 10/10 on service. The inside and outside of the restaurant was so gorgeous. I loved the paintings and the color skeem of it all. Just beautiful 10/10! With that being said that's where all the niceness stops. Let me put it this way if you're a person that has never had authentic Asian cuisine of any kind then this is for you you'll like it. HOWEVER if you're a person that has had authentic Asian cuisine of any kind or find yourself "cultured" then this is not a place for you. Don't believe me then go try it for yourself. Chang's Lettuce Wraps: these were not very good if anything just okay. Under seasoned and the protein we chose was chicken and yet there was little to no chicken in it. The saving grace was the sauce that we dipped it in. But we personally wouldn't order again. 5/10 Pork Egg Rolls: these were probably the best thing we had the whole night. These egg rolls were very good, hot, and fresh tasting. Would definitely eat again! However the dipping sauce for them was so bad we were afraid to try it twice it was very strong with an acidic vinegar taste that was extremely unbearable! Egg rolls 7/10 the sauce 1/10 Vegetable Fried Rice: we ordered a side of vegetable fried rice only to receive it with no vegetables, the most it had was little bits of carrots here and there. On top of that it was so dry as if it was days old and extremely lumpy and clear as day had huge hunks of white rice where it wasn't properly cooked and evenly coated. 3/10 Sesame Chicken: was okay at best I have eaten sesame chicken for years and this was not standard. Like I said it was okay just had an off flavor. I actually ended up eating and enjoy the broccoli, onions, and peppers more then anything. 5/10 Beef With Broccoli: this was actually pretty decent flavor was there but it's weird it's called beef with broccoli and yet we only received like 5 pieces of broccoli on the plate. You'd think there would have been more right? 7/10 Chocolate Souffle: this one was weird the raspberry sauce was the worst part it didn't pare well with anything very strong and tangy it was off-putting to the tongue. The chocolate souffle was very dense and fudge like and I wasn't very into it. If it wasn't for the vanilla ice cream we probably would have stopped eating it. It was almost as if it was uncooked. Not sure if it was supposed to be that way but it wasn't what we expected. 2/10 All in all I'm probably never returning back here again. It reminded me of an overpriced Panda Express and I hate Panda Express. It's over priced and was not worth anything! Food: 5/10 Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10“
“I will have to say that the bourbon chicken was freaking awesome!I came here for lunch during the week and wow was I happy about my choice.I ordered the bourbon chicken with the pork fried rice and egg drop soup (soup was great too). The prices are fantastic, especially on the lunch menu.I will return.Parking: If you can't find parking directly in front of the restaurant, have no fear it is in a shared lot with a whole strip center.“
“It was through Uber eats so it was a little less hot and a bit chewy, not the restaurant’s fault. I love the way they made the crab rangoons. Maybe not as pretty, but so much easier to eat and you get the filling in every bite! The filling was fantastic too! Orange chicken was too spicy for my kiddo but thankfully we ordered it on the side so we just used some other sauce I had. The spare ribs were fantastic! Absolutely my favorite. Egg rolls were also really good. I love the portions and prices. Definitely our New favorite Chinese food place.“
“Absolutely fabulous meal of Peking duck to celebrate my mother's birthday. It's almost impossible to get anywhere else now a days. The duck came in three courses, each fantastically prepared. Would happily drive an hour again to come back for more. The wanton soup and Mae fun were also fabulous.“
“We didn’t get any napkins or utensils but their food was pretty good and most importantly, they’re good on their dept of health inspection. Little, minor violations but that’s outstanding nowadays. Oh yeah, and the outside seems kinda worn-in but it’s a Chinese store.“
“Have been getting take out here for almost two years. It is very much out of the way for us. But so worth it! Incredible flavors, tender meats, everything cooked when ordered and extra large portions. Plenty leftovers for lunch next day. Worth every penny. Always quick polite service and they stay busy with take out orders, constant flow of customers coming and going.“
