“It was a little rocky at first. Hostess was obviously overwhelmed (it was St Patricks Day) she told us we should just probably find another place to eat because they are so busy. So, before leaving I needed to use the restroom. We were about to leave when another waitress actually approached us and seated us. Yay US!After that everything was great! Our waitress Morgan was phenomenal! She was busy but she quick, had a great, fun attitude and made sure everything was exactly how we ordered. Because of Morgan we will definitely be back. “I was invited to a private party at Lourdes Library. I couldn't believe how cool the lobby is! The "Librarian" was no-nonsense and asked what book we were looking for. Once we found our book, we had our library card stamped and were led through a secret door into the bar. Inside was something out of the prohibition-period with possibly the coolest bartenders and custom-crafted drinks. They knocked it out of the park!“
“Double Tapp Grill- Melbourne 4.5 Stars In my very younger years I served as what is now known as a "first responder." The term double tapp comes from the order of your training officer to place two bullets center mass to the chest of your adversary. The connotation as it applies to this restaurant is apropos. The Double Tapp Grill is really an ancillary afterthought to the gun shoppe and gun range attached to this Eatery. While the range and gun store are filled with people deluded by the Babbittry of their lives, little do they know the exquisite taste delights that exist just a few feet away. The menu here is unique I ordered fried cheese curds, gator tail and frog legs. The curds were fried and I knew immediately they had been prepared on premises. The batter is light and allows the flavor of the cheese to shine. The frog legs were light fried with no batter. I found this to be original because usually cooks turn them into chicken wings but here they were quick fried, then daintily covered in a mango habanero sauce that had the proper balance and depth of flavor. The gator tail however was the real star. Alligator essentially always bland. Gideon, the chef at Double Tapp, has created a dredge that knocks your socks off. It is full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I could have eaten another order they are so good. The owners of this restaurant really care about their food quality and it is so nice to see. Bravo!!! “Decided to go for a birthday lunch on Easter day. Thought it would be much more crowded, but we were able to get a seat immediately. I had heard such good things about this place and was very excited to try it.We started off with the fish dip, which we could have stopped at there. Highly recommend. Good portion size and the extras are very good also. Love the pirate chips that came with. We went on to have the swordfish entree, ahi poke bowl, and the Buffalo chicken sand with fries. It's all very tasty and fresh tasting. It had been many years since having swordfish, I was impressed with the freshness and serving with rice. I can vouch for the rest as well. Because I got a taste of each, considering this was my first visit. All very good and fresh!The service was fantastic, and the staff all worked together as a team in getting the food and drink out to the tables. “Iron Oak is the hidden gem in downtown Melbourne. I've been there many times now, and have yet to be disappointed when I visit. They have a large selection of rotating craft beer. Yet we still had to pay the tip at 20% because it was over 8 people. I think that is CRAZY because they aren't serving us food and didn't even give us refills of water. My friend at the event said her sangria was the best she’d ever had. I had requested a pineapple upside down cake drink and the bartender improvised and it came out amazing. The atmosphere was great. As always, I recommend walking to your vehicle at the end of the night with a friend, just for safety precautions.“
