“Super casual restaurant with excellent food. This was my first time visiting Florida in over 15 years. So I had to get some Haitian food. This place didn't disappoint at all. The food was hot and fresh. The portions were over-sized in my opinion. Lot's of food if you're a heavy eater. So no complaints from me. I had the Snapper and ot was marinated to perfection!. The rice was good too. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. 10 out of 10 totally recommend!!“

“I had an amazing meal at Mange Lakay and Lounge, and I can’t recommend this place enough! The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. Every bite tasted like authentic home-cooked Haitian cuisine.
I ordered the Haitian diri blan (white rice) with sos pwa (black bean sauce) and boulet (fried meatballs), and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, the black bean sauce was rich and full of flavor, and the boulet were seasoned beautifully with a crispy outside and juicy inside. Everything tasted fresh and comforting — true Haitian flavors done right.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, very clean, and spacious. It’s big enough to host events, which makes it a great spot for gatherings, celebrations, or just enjoying a great meal.
I also want to give a special shoutout to my cashier Gelda. She is always sweet, kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Her great customer service makes the experience even better every time I visit.
If you’re looking for authentic Haitian food, a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and amazing service, Mange Lakay and Lounge is definitely the place to go. I’ll absolutely be back!“

“I was in the area, googled Haitian food, went there, had stewed turkey- rice & peas. Loved it. Nice family owned place! I was very happy when I saw an older lady come walking out the back to go home. Probably the grandma cooking.“

“We went at 1030p. They were out of legume, wings & rice (well we got the last 2 servings). Guess we need to go earlier 🙃.
The outside seating had music playing, the atmosphere was chill.
The food was flavorful & lakay sauce was SPICY!“

“This has quickly become a weekly stop for me. I do outside sales so I’m always on the go and St. Hilaire never fails to deliver tasty bites in a hurry. For $8 you get a decent plate of fried wings and banan, with a side of pilkliz of course.. hard to beat! Patties are good too especially if you just need a quick snack!“

“My family and I wanted to try a Haitian restaurant while we were in Miami. We ordered 2 family packs and the sampler. The food was so delicious and plentiful that we ate it for dinner AND breakfast. The restaurant also called us to let us know that they were out of an item we had ordered. When we were on the plane back to the Memphis area, my father said he wished he could have taken the leftovers back to Memphis. A+++ Food and customer service was great!“

“Best tasting Haitian cuisine in all of South Florida. If you haven't yet please please order a plate or two or five like I do for my family on the weekends. Food is amazing, service is great. And the artwork while you wait is unmatched. Thank you for serving the neighborhood what we need in our mouths. Good quality food. You'll have my service FOR LIFE 🙏🏿.....“

“So I called the restaurant ahead to place my food order, and the lady literally took my order, got my name, and everything. Mind you, I was 18 minutes away and had to take a Lyft there. Once I got there, I told one of the workers my name and what I ordered. She asked around like nobody knew what was going on, while the other lady acted completely confused. I’m standing there thinking they’re about to bring my food out, but instead I watched everybody else get their orders except me.
The Lyft driver could only wait 5 minutes, so I kept asking where my food was because I had to go. The driver ended up canceling my ride because they took so long, so I had to order another Lyft. I asked the same lady again if my order was coming, and she still gave the weakest, most unprofessional response ever. At that point my patience was running thin because y’all should’ve already had my food ready since I ordered it over the phone.
My phone was about to die, I’m not even from Miami, and I literally had to get out of character just for these people to finally give me my food and let me charge my phone. Like why do I have to go through all that just for food? I highly do NOT recommend this place at all. The professionalism was very weak, the consideration wasn’t there, and the disrespect was crazy. Standing right in front of them while they gave everybody else their food except mine is wild.“

“Best service, food and atmosphere. This is the best restaurant to buy Haitian cuisine. It's family owned and the food is DELICIOUS! The owner and his wife work really hard and still provide great customer service, everyone is hands on. Its a shame I don't live as close to here but I will always take the drive for delicious, authentic Haitian food. The prices are decent especially in this economy they still have options if your on a budget or if you want to splurge. I just can go on and on about how amazing this place is. Please keep doing what your doing because you are doing great! No other Haitian restaurant can compare to family cuisine and I mean no other. Come and try them you won't be disappointed, you will understand why they are so busy. No dried meats everything is fresh and moist, bannann fresh, rice flavorful, macaroni wow too good anyway I'm sure you get my point. To the customers enjoy! To the owners Merci!“

“This small Haitian spot is takeout-only. All orders take about 25-30 minutes, which is good because you know it’s freshly prepared, but consider calling in advance if you don’t want to wait. While there’s no ambience, there’s chairs to wait in, and the staff is friendly and helped me pick out a variety to try. The spicing and preparation were good, but a bit salty for my (non-Haitian) palette. Overall I’d love to come back to try the rest of the menu when I’m back in the area.
Parking: A handful of spots are available by pulling into the driveway in front of the building. This is directly off of a fairly busy road without street parking.“

“When in Miami, this is now my #1 go to Haitian restaurant due to the food always tastes delicious and not too heavy on the salt. The price was very reasonable. This time we had the cooked fish, stew turkey, Okra, and legume plates. All of us were extremely satisfied with our meals. The ladies serving us were very pleasant and asked if we enjoyed our food therefore enhancing the customer service experience. I wish they had one in Orlando. We will come again.“

“Yum!!! We were excited to try Haitian food after trying Cuban food. I prefer the Haitian food as it was good for the first helping and excellent the next day. We got so much chicken and legume from this wonderful takeout restaurant that we had enough for dinner, breakfast, and then lunch on the plane to Puerto Rico! I made the mistake of ordering legume thinking it would be beans but it was not a bad mistake as it was an amazing stew. Loved the boiled plantains and the rice is incredible. Loved the meat spices that are subtle and the lack of salt which I felt the Cuban food was way too salt forward though had more depth of flavor. The neighborhood and the place might look sketchy but you don’t need to worry at all! I highly recommend you try the food here.“

“My boyfriend Jeffrey and I needed some late night food so we wanted to try this restaurant out. The plantains were the best I’ve ever had (try dipping them in the beans and you might just cry). The chicken was Chrispy yet juicy and falling off the bone. So good. Thank you to the friendly staff! <3“

“Stopped by here on my way back to Tampa. The griot was honestly the best thing I had. The legume was not what I expected, but it was good. Service was ok and our food came out promptly. The rice and peas was ok as well. The bathroom was not the best and had no soap to wash hands. Overall I would return for the griot. It was crispy, juicy and well seasoned. Serving size was also fantastic. One plate could feed you for a few days. With some minor changes, this place would be top tier.“
“Honestly, if I had to give it a score on a scale of 1 to 10, it would be a 9. The lady was super friendly, the food was freshly made and cooked well. I ordered the chicken special with French fries and everything was delicious, a very good price. The only thing I kind of complain about is that the wait times are long, but there was only one person doing everything, so it's understandable.“
“The place is no longer Lumiere Restaurant. It's now call Fritay Kreole Restaurant. They serve Fry Food and other Haitian food. The food is great extraordinary exceptional. The environment is wonderful and pleasant to spend time with friends and family.“

“🌿 Easy to miss at first, but such a great find. Parking is a bit tricky with only street options, you may have to park further out but the walk is quick and safe. You order buffet-style at the window, and then head to the back patio where the magic reveals itself.
🌴 The backyard feels like a whole different world from the outside..lush, tropical, shaded, with a bar, stage, and plenty of seating. Super relaxed vibe.
🍽️ I had the fried goat with cornmeal + red beans, sweet plantains, and fresh lemonade..simple and delicious. Can’t wait to come back and actually sit and enjoy it longer!“

“10000/10 so consistent, the food never changes and it’s good every time. I love this place it’s the best Haitian restaurant ever! I’m not Haitian but I love this place. The customer service could be a bit better they’ve forgotten plantains/sos pwa a few times but overall they have amazing food.“

“I come here all the time to get griot and rice beans with fried plantains and its always hot fresh and delicious. Plus i love that they give a good amount of griot for an affordable price compared to other Haitian restaurants. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall but those are where you get the best food! Definitely recommend“

I tried a traditional dish, and the flavors were bold, rich, and clearly made with care. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. “We wanted traditional Haitian/Caribbean food and this place has it. You know this when everyone in the place (except us) were from the Caribbean. Everything is so good! I had the Mixed Veggies, which is a kind of stew made with meat bones. My husband had the fried chicken. Both come with plantains and rice. We had the black rice, a first to us, and it’s really good.“

“1st, the location on Google map is incorrect. Its located on SE corner of 62nd & N.Miami Ave.Typical Haitian Bakery with decent Haitian pattys. The flavoring could be stronger but I do like it better than Jamaican pattys due to the crust. ???“
