During a day trip to the Canaveral National Seashore, I researched local restaurants and discovered a gastronomical jewel. Jeanette (often seen buzzing in and out of the kitchen) and Jaime have created a fantastic menu that suits the medium sized restaurant and kitchen located on the corner of a midsized mall... From the fresh baguette bread accompanied by Himalayan salted butter, to the colorful crisp garden salad with a gentle vinagrette, to the tender filet prepared to a perfect medium temperature joined by a delicious trinxat and tender mushrooms, and the silky smooth crème brûlée with a perfectly flamed caramelized sugar 'glass' on top; you'll be offering your own Chef's Kiss. Considering the quality of the aforementioned food and excellent service (white linens, real candle light dining, superb wait-staff ), the prices are very reasonable! I’ve been going to this iconic vintage Dairy Queen outlet for the last 20 years. It is THE Dairy Queen for the New Smyrna Beach area, and if you’re driving through and need something, sweet or salty, you won’t regret stopping by.
A number of years ago, they purchased the property next-door and created more shaded parking areas, so there’s usually plenty of spaces available. They also added more outdoor seating, all nicely shaded with huge umbrellas.
If you go on a Wednesday, like I did this week, don’t be surprised if there’s a short wait in the line, because on Wednesdays they have their “$1.99 Banana Split Special”, and they are popular! (Insider tip: Ask for the sprinkled nuts as an extra topping.)
They have other specials every day of the week, see the list below.
To top it all off, their servers are smiling, happy, friendly people, who will make you feel like you just stepped back in time to the 1970s, when life was simple and wonderful, and when people interacted with EACH OTHER, instead of with a metal & glass contraption that you had glued to your hand. “The Spott never disappoints with the quality of both the food and the service. On my last visit, the black drum caught locally in Ponce Inlet exceed my previous favorite of lion fish. Their filet is one of the best in town. Whether you are enjoying the “speak easy secrets” atmosphere upstairs for a pre-dinner drink or the vibrant energy of the dining room, it is always on point. The only thing that would improve it would be to expand, add live music and a classy place to dance.”

For breakfast I had the daily special of a Grilled Brie Cheese and Tomato Bisque and I can assure you, I ordered the right thing. They have many options for crepes if that’s your fancy.
I’ll have to be back for dinner as they have a completely different menu selection.
Atmosphere is stellar, I sat outside in the patio as the squirrels dance along the tree tops but were never a bother.

“I went with a group on Wednesday. I choose the Wrong lunch. it was the millionaires Grill cheese. on thick bread with thin layer of crab & lobster which was fishy. it was Not fresh or sweet. Yup, should have returned it! Everyone else's sandwiches were full & delicious looking. Hope they remove this Mill Grill cheese as it's a joke & where did they come up with that name??”

“This restaurant is my favorite spot for a quick tasty Italian meal or Trivia! The pizza is pretty good too. Tuesday nights we love go head over for happy hour (ends at 6pm) and gear up for some trivia(starts at 6pm). We were hoping to find a trivia place in NSB and this place is our favorite, it goes great with the delicious Italian food and BOGO drinks if you get there early! Service is friendly and familiar (we bring our young kids). This is a chill, locals spot. Great to eat at after a round of golf too!”

“10/10!!! Everything about this place me and my sister loved. The food was awesome. We had the Grouper nuggets as an appetizer, I had the Key West combo with caribbean street corn, and black beans and rice. My sister had fish and chips with black beans and rice as well. Everything was so delicious! I also had a Tito’s blue raspberry lemonade (i can’t remember the name!) and it was also phenomenal. We had the best server, the best view on the upper deck, and the live music was also a great plus.

The only complaint is they had a young girl by herself running the host stand and sweet willy’s downstairs. We went to get an ice cream and they only had limited selection, she scooped my ice cream and sat it down to go and sit the door. We waited and waited for her to come back to get the other ice cream, as mine melted. After about 10-15 min we decided to leave. Everything else was phenomenal!”

“This is cutest place! I visited Daytona Beach for my birthday. I met some friends from out of town that rode on the plane with a guy that recommended this location. Robin and Charlotte waited on us when we visited and we had an amazing time talking with them. We ordered the lobster rolls, Caesar salad, cookies and cream gelato, and key lime pie. The food was amazing!! We’re glad that we made the trip. I’ll definitely be visiting again! If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!!”
