“My wife and I went to eat in downtown NSB and our usual favorite was closed, so we walked around and came across Bar Leona. I normally never even glance at bars since bar food is normally atrocious, but after seeing what was on people's plates, we went in and were not disappointed. This is no bar food; the cuisine is obviously prepared by a well-trained chef. I have traveled the world and this is some of the best Italian cuisine I have had. I watched the kitchen and could see the craftsmanship going into the food prep.

The Buratta appetizer is a delicious blended ricotta with a pool of honey and a little spice. My only criticism is it should have a few more slices of crostini to go with the liberal portion of ricotta, but it's fabulous. The meatball appetizer has a generous portion with a well-balanced sauce, not too sour or tangy as with some Italian restaurants. Same goes for the Spicy Vodka ziti, Pasta Bolognese, Seafood Pasta; delicious sauces, well-balanced flavors, and generous portions. I have had some of their specials like mushroom seafood ravioli that was superb; handmade dough and filling, no frozen ravioli dumped out of a bag with a sauce poured on top. The Pork Picatta was a good-sized super tender pork chop over pasta covered by a delicious lemon caper sauce.

I have always gotten superb service whether on a weekday or busy weekend. Their team work together so if one server sees someone needs something, they'll step in and get it taken care of.

They have an excellent selection of desserts that change, and of course a great drink selection.

Prices are not cheap but are in line with this quality of fare in the area. There are not a lot of tables, especially for larger groups, so better get there early to avoid a wait. This place is now in my top two restaurants when I want a good meal.“

“Spanish river grill is a very inconspicuous place. Driving by you wouldn’t assume how magnificent the atmosphere and food are inside. The moment you walk in the door, you’re transported. The sights, sounds, and smells, create the most excellent ambiance. The menu was creative and fun. Absolutely will be back, and will be on our recommendation list to friends and family visiting. ...“

“We have been coming to New Smyrna for four years now, tried a few restaurants. This was our favorite. Phenomenal service. Kailey is super sweet and very attentive. The food was great, the pork ribeye was a family favorited, but we enjoyed the red snapper special and veal marsala too, along with the shrimp appetizer. Will definitely be back, and recommend to all.“

“Great atmosphere on the water at JBs! I had the Captains Platter and my wife had the crab legs which was fresh, hot and flavorful as I had the Cajun seasoning. Our server, Ryan, was on point with drinks, food and personality. I recommend sitting outside if weather permits. After dinner, walk their docks and watch the manatees as they swim by. They have improved their docks with bench seating either while waiting for dinner or relaxing after your meal. On your next visit, I recommend asking for Ryan!“
