I had to take a moment to recognize an exceptional manager, Mrs Kim.
When I stopped in today, McDonald’s was packed with at least 30 students from Ocoee High School. What impressed me wasn’t how busy the restaurant was, but how Mrs Kim interacted with these young people and how they responded to her.
The students were in line, ordering their food, behaving like respectful young adults, and clearly had tremendous respect for her. You could immediately tell that Mrs Kim is much more than a manager to these kids. They look at her almost like a second mom, and she treats them with that same combination of kindness, respect, guidance, and accountability.
As someone watching from the outside, it was genuinely impressive to see. Managing a busy restaurant is one thing. Having that kind of positive influence on young people is something entirely different.
McDonald’s needs more managers and mentors like Mrs Kim. People who take the time to build relationships with young people and earn their respect can make a difference that reaches far beyond the workplace.
Mrs Kim, keep doing what you’re doing. Those young people clearly respect you, and from what I witnessed today, you’ve earned every bit of it.

“Hands down the BEST customer service from McDonald’s from any location. No matter what time I go on my lunch break, the employees at this Ocoee location are amazing. Everyone is always so nice and smiling and polite. I really appreciate their hard working staff. The manager Christina is always so friendly and kind. Been to this location numerous times and never had a bad experience or a rude staff member.“

“Ngl my order got canceled in the app and I was starving so I had to reorder, went through drive thru and reordered and idk how but associate knew it was my order that was canceled and was able to honor discount. Idk how he knew it was my order but aye I appreciate you not just throwing away the food my guy. Idk if you all check this since it’s a large company but the little steps made my night. Hope this makes your day!“
