“This was our first visit to Lightsey’s. The service was prompt and the decor was cute. We had a margarita and old fashioned cocktails which were tasty. For dinner, we ordered clam chowder, fried shrimp with gouda mashed potatoes, hushpuppies, fried catfish and cole slaw. All of the food was fresh, hot and quite delicious, except we didn’t care for the cole slaw. The downside was there were no small plate options offered whatsoever, so we left a lot of uneaten food and the meals were quite pricey.“
“This is my most favorite restaurant in okeechobee. It provides a small town and cozy atomsphere.Their food not only is delicious but it is authentic.I am vegetarian so I order things like bean tostados, bean tacos and their spinach enchiladas are excellent also.I rate mexican restaurants heavily by the chips and salsa they serve. Their chips are light and Crispy and the salsa is always warm and delicious.I encourage you to check it out.“
“This place deserves a higher rating. So glad we stopped here while driving through town for lunch. My chicken tacos (corn tortillas) were flavorful, the salsa is really good and we liked the crispy tortilla chips. My husband loved his chicken tamales. We ate in the patio since we had our pup with us which was pleasant. Service was great and food came out quick. Definitely a great spot!“
“We went to Parrot Island for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. We had a group of 20+. I was astonished how fast they were able to bring out everyone’s food even with the restaurant being full. Our server was very attentive and food is always amazing. By far the best place to eat in town.“
“The missing star is because of the appetizer. The Tin Fish Sampler was pricey, and I wouldn't have minded if it has tasted like it was worth the money I spent for it, but it wasn't great... we left nearly all of it on the plate (see pic) The rest of the meal was terrific tho. We spent $100 for the three of us -- including the tip. We had 3 diners, two of them had the grouper sandwich, 1 had the fried shrimp plate. We had 2 beers, two sodas, and one very expensive lackluster appetizer. Thankfully the service was excellent and the entrees were delicious. The restaurant is also very nice to look at.“
“Amazing place, must try. Typical southern side of the road fish house, food is fresh and delicious. The gator was probably caught from the lake the day we ate it! Definitely worth the drive and even with the hours worth waiting until they are open to go.“
