“Since I live in Ponce Inlet, I've been to Down the Hatch many times and have always found their seafood to be so fresh all the time. This time I had my sons visiting me from St. Louis, they wanted to eat at the best restaurant for seafood, and of course, we went right here and it didn't disappoint. They especially loved the shecrab soup with the sherry on the side. It was scrumptious. Their dinners were wonderful, as well as the desserts. Needless to say, we went home with plenty of leftovers. Steve, the server was great. All in all, it was a perfect night. So whether you live nearby or on vacation, make it a point to dine there.“

“We tried this local restaurant today for the first time. The food was terrific, cooked perfectly. The “fish camp fixings” was a nice addition. Our server was friendly and efficient. We dined outside to enjoy the beautiful day. The children’s playground out there seemed out of place. It took away from the esthetics of the place and the whole dining experience.“

Looking for somewhere close within walking distance, we decided to try this restaurant first and loved it so much we actually decided to go back the very next night for our anniversary. Let me just say, we are ashamed we hadn’t come here sooner. We dined outside under a shaded gazebo and even enjoyed a brief rainstorm. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered our drinks and food, and were astonished at how large the portions were. I opted for the Mediterranean Salad, and my husband ordered the Tofu 'Poke' Salad with a side of rice to make it a bowl. Let me tell you, we were both thrilled with the presentation, and the food was incredibly fresh and delicious! There were lots of beautiful plants surrounding the property which I absolutely loved! We will definitely return for another meal. We highly recommend this place for a date, or a casual lunch or dinner.“

The quality of the food is always outstanding, and you can really tell they take pride in what they serve. Our pastor loves it so much he eats here once or twice a week, which says a lot! The customer service is unbelievable & everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cares about giving you a great experience. (Shoutout Olivia!) “We come down in November and December and Wake Up Cafe' is our first stop. The food is delicious, and very fresh. The business is run very well and we have ate there for years. Do not miss this restaurant- it is wonderful!“

“Great good on Easter Sunday. Problem:,pieces of paper on the floor (at least 5 and one larger crumpled up piece) and none of the waitresses, or the help, would stop to pick them up. Also my Cabernet had so much sediment in the bottom it left a huge skid mark up the side of the glass. Seems like a change in managers or increased training.“

When we contacted the restaurant about a possible lost credit card, Chris and the rest of his staff went above and beyond by locating the card, then personally mailing it to our home. “My husband and I decided to stop in for breakfast yesterday morning. They were busy, but we were seated right away by a polite hostess. Pam was our waitressand she was wonderful. She recommended the BEC breakfast (with cheesy grits) and it was perfect. The sandwich was delicious and my first time for the cheesy grits and they were very yummy with a layer of melted and browned cheese on top. Pam was very attentive and checked back on us making sure we had everything we wanted. Though they were busy the service and food was great !“
