I found this GEM and decided to give it a try, as none of us have ever heard of it. My friends in Tallahassee, that have gatekept this place from us, shame on you. When I told the staff, they immediately jumped into action and went through their trash—without hesitation—to help me find it. Their kindness and willingness to help meant the world to me. That level of customer service is rare and so appreciated. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious and made fresh. “My original post I had a 5 out of 5 stars but I came here December 12 the night of my graduation at FSU to show my family this cool place I’ve been so fond of for the past year. We came in at 11:30 under the assumption that the establishment closed at 1am. The taps were completely closed by midnight and all tabs were closed at this time as well. In the past I have 100% been served after midnight. I’m just confused if the employee wanted to go home early. Also the male employee working said we could purchase to go beers after our tab was closed out. He mentioned they were half off but we could not drink them in the establishments. Was not the welcoming environment that I have had in the past. Basically everyone was almost forced to leave at midnight even though the sign on the door clearly says 1“

“The Blue Tavern is a true gem in the Tallahassee Community. Carrie (owner) and Heather (bartender) are welcoming, caring, inclusive. This place has the best music in town on a consistent basis. Carrie works hard to support the community; it is like home. The "regulars" are genuine folx and the musicians and performers are great, too. Please support and enjoy! Food is great, too. Highly recommend.“

“This is the REALEST WAFFLE HOUSE ON THE PLANET!!!! This crew is the liveliest crew EVER! They argue sometime yes, but what real functioning family doesn’t? The cook maintains balance and order and still gets orders out quickly. What ever people say in the other reviews about the server is wrong. She really cares about her customers and works hard to keep her tables clean just gets a little sidetracked but the core is THEY CARE! Every time I come in people give this crew a run for their money!!! They always DELIVER! Not bad entertainment. These are the most human like and humble Waffle houses I’ve been in. I appreciate this crew!

“Sorry, I really just stopped by last night and pick up my slice of BIRTHDAY PIE !! I have been planning on visiting the restaurant to have my birthday gift, but it’s been a busy last few weeks! I got an email saying my gift was about to expire, so I headed down to my local Village Inn. Unfortunately, it was only 15 minutes until they closed so I decided I’d better just get the pie and go home.
