“drove to Tallahassee from Valdosta, GA, for a shopping trip, and a good friend recommended El Rey Tacos & Beer. I’m so glad I stopped by! This place instantly transported me back to Mexico. I had the best torta I’ve ever tasted, the bread was perfectly fresh and soft, and every bite was bursting with flavor. It’s hard to find something this authentic back home in Valdosta. I also tried their aguas frescas, and they were incredibly refreshing and flavorful. My 10-year-old daughter ordered tacos and surprised me by eating four! She said they were the best tacos she’s ever had.This place is absolutely worth the drive. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone craving true Mexican flavors!“

“My girlfriend, my self and one of our friends were heading back to Panama City from Orlando, and we didn’t want to stop for fast food. I found this GEM and decided to give it a try, as none of us have ever heard of it. My friends in Tallahassee, that have gatekept this place from us, shame on you. I cannot wait to drive back through this way again to ensure another visit. We also met Hades, walking through the garden, I have changed his name to Arugula, I’ll see him again soon. “Fries were great! No sweet tea! Baby we're in the south. Went for the lunchtime live music that was entertaining. Service was kinda slow good thing I had time. Fitting in a lunch break meal seems like you might be late going back to work. The place looks like it could be kickin' on a Saturday night. Has a nice patio lounge area.“

“This is a lovely place to spend an hour. Delicious coffees, teas, wine, or local beers, while petting kitties: what more could you ask for? I love that they cap the human capacity at ten patrons in the cat room per hour. It doesn’t overwhelm the cats or the humans. The place feels upscale, clean, and is one of my favorite places in town. 10/10 recommend!“

“I absolutely adore this place! There are so many flavors and creative combinations! My only issue is how HUGE the snow cones are and how expensive they are. Maybe that is standard when I look at other snow cones places but it would be really great if offered sizes about 1/4 that size. It was like $9 for the kiddie. I could’ve done with 1/4 the amount of snow cone for $5. On the online menu it does not show the cost to be so high. It hurt my stomach before I could even dream of finishing it.
I understand it can cost more to run a local business with quality ingredients, but offering more size options would make it more affordable and enjoyable for everyone. It just makes me sad to throw out half of my snow cone because I can’t finish it.“

“We have been coming here since my 21-one year old daughter was a baby. It was great then and it’s great now. They have the BEST breakfast and we are always welcomed so warmly and treated like family. They even catered my daughter’s 18th birthday. Additionally, service has always been great and with a smile. When visiting this location at lunch time it can be challenging if your expecting to be in and out. “My original post I had a 5 out of 5 stars but I came here December 12 the night of my graduation at FSU to show my family this cool place I’ve been so fond of for the past year. We came in at 11:30 under the assumption that the establishment closed at 1am. The taps were completely closed by midnight and all tabs were closed at this time as well. In the past I have 100% been served after midnight. I’m just confused if the employee wanted to go home early. Also the male employee working said we could purchase to go beers after our tab was closed out. He mentioned they were half off but we could not drink them in the establishments. Was not the welcoming environment that I have had in the past. Basically everyone was almost forced to leave at midnight even though the sign on the door clearly says 1“
