“Staff is super friendly, which is a plus in Atlanta. Food is superb absolute quality. No cutting corners in this establishment. My toddler literally finished his plate, which says a lot. Prices are worthy of your hard earned ?. Stayed away because of the stigma of the old Chinese ghetto restaurant was nasty af. Crazy I am amazed by the new ownership.“
“Peachtree Pavilion is one of the hotspots for good Asian food and drink in metro Atlanta. This U-shaped, two-story shopping center in Doraville has been home to Atlanta's only ITP (inside the perimeter) H Mart for over a decade now. For longtime Atlantans and Buford Highway enthusiasts, I kind of view Peachtree Pavilion as the "new" Asian Square. It's one of the centers of Asian and Asian American activity in town. For years now, Peachtree Pavilion has been busy and bustling. Occupancy is high and business is good. It didn't always used to be this way, however. I remember, circa 2010, when all this shopping center really had was H Mart (at that time, branded "Super H Mart") and Shoya Izakaya. The shopping center was built in 2008-2009. It wasn't until the mid-2010s onward when this place really started to take off. Over that time, some businesses at Peachtree Pavilion have become Atlanta staples while others have come and gone.Below are some of the highlights of Peachtree Pavilion. You can read my full take on each business by visiting their Yelp page.* Shoya Izakaya - yelp.com/biz/shoya-izaka…Now old-school, great for all-around Japanese fare, including sushi.* Yebisuya - yelp.com/biz/yebisuya-do…Located next door to Shoya, I believe this is a sister restaurant. Pretty good ramen, in my opinion.* Kura Revolving Sushi Bar - yelp.com/biz/kura-revolv…My wife and I love this place for cheap sushi. Sushi snobs hate on Kura, but I've always enjoyed it.* J-Bistro - yelp.com/biz/j-bistro-at…Apparently, J-Bistro is the old China Inn in Chamblee: yelp.com/biz/china-inn-c…. China Inn was popular among the Chinese/Taiwanese community in Atlanta. China Inn closed and reopened as Liu Fu in Johns Creek: yelp.com/biz/liu-fu-dulu…. So, J-Bistro is also the old Liu Fu, I think.* Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle - yelp.com/biz/ten-seconds…This restaurant specializes in Chinese rice noodle soups. Formerly Qing Shu Malatang. It's good.* Sweet Spot - yelp.com/biz/sweet-spot-…Sweet Spot is unique in that they serve Hong Kong-style food, desserts, and drinks. Definitely worth checking out.* Meet Fresh - yelp.com/biz/meet-fresh-…This is a chain from Taiwan well-known for its Taiwanese dessert soups and puddings, shaved ice, and drinks like bubble tea.* Tea Top - yelp.com/biz/tea-top-atl…All around, the best and most consistent bubble tea in Atlanta.* Crazy Skewer - yelp.com/biz/crazy-skewe…Traditional Chinese skewers/kabobs.* H Mart - yelp.com/biz/h-mart-dora…One of the best Asian grocery stores in Atlanta. I like their peeled garlic and instant ramen. :)* Harue Korean Chicken Snack Bar - yelp.com/biz/harue-korea…Good for Korean fried chicken and other Korean snack foods like gimbap (rolls) and tteok-bokki (rice cakes). Not the best KFC, but still good enough, IMO.* Cafe Petit Four - yelp.com/biz/café-petit-…An Asian bakery and cafe, I it's believe Korean/Korean American-owned and operated. It's the old Hansel & Gretel and before that, Tree Story: yelp.com/biz/tree-story-….* Big Dave's Cheesesteaks - yelp.com/biz/big-daves-c…One of the best cheesesteaks in town and the wings are great too. Service has been spotty, in my experience.* Conch Heaven - yelp.com/biz/conch-heave…Caribbean food. Specifically, Bahamian* Snackboxe Bistro - yelp.com/biz/snackboxe-b…The preeminent Laotian restaurant in Atlanta. It's yummy.* Miss Gogi - yelp.com/biz/miss-gogi-a…Outstanding Korean barbecue. One of the best options for KBBQ ITP.* 4.0 Ice Cream & Drinks - yelp.com/biz/4-0-ice-cre…With Tea Top, Meet Fresh, and Sweet Spot on the ground level corner, it makes you wonder how 4.0, located on the second level, can compete. This is a Chinese/Taiwanese drink and dessert cafe.* MICS Karaoke - yelp.com/biz/mics-karaok…MICS Karaoke is popular for its lavish buildout including a Hello Kitty room. Check out the fun on their Instagram: instagram.com/mics.karao…. “This is the Best Ramen in Atlanta hands down. the Tonkotsu Black is superb. the noodles are fresh and all the toppings are top shelf. Yebisuya is my go to Ramen spot without question. Make note of their hours 1130-3 pm for lunch then they open again at 5 for dinner.“
“Truly one of the finest sushi restaurants in all of Atlanta. Quite pricey but the numbers make sense when you consider just how high quality the fish is and how nice the portion sizes are. The drinks are also fantastic with the lychee and matcha ones being a highlight. A must go if you enjoy sushi and are in the Atlanta area. As someone who is gluten-free, they were very accommodating and had gluten free soy sauce on hand.“
“O-Ku has to be one of my top favorite restaurants in the area. The food was wonderful, and our server, Lauryn, was exceptional! She provided great service, as she was both thoughtful and attentive. She made the our night. Can't wait to come back.“
“Out of the multitude of amazing things I want to say, I will concisely summarize my experience by simply stating: WOW! I really enjoyed the courses and unique style of flavor combinations and presentation. The atmosphere rocked especially thanks to Calvin being so present and affable and genuine. Clearly everyone at Norifish is passionate about offering a proper dining experience from top to bottom and everything in between.“
“really amazing food. so fast and delicious! wonderful experience! Kaya Signature with the Karaage ...perfect spice, flavor, texture, broth. we were here at noon and had our food in 15 min from the moment we walked in the door and we did not rush to order.“
“Food was amazing and service was impeccable. The 8 course tasting menu and Sake pairing was worth every penny. Went for my birthday and they did not disappoint. Angela was the best. Very personable and knowledgeable in regards to menu options, Sakes and history. Compliments to the chef!!!“
“This is not a restaurant. It is an experience.Although I've done fine dining, I've never been to a Michelin star restaurant, and they did not disappoint. They knew me by face upon entering, any waiter/waitress/sommelier in my vincity was mine, my water was never empty, the music selection was vast, and the atmosphere was chic, intimate, and neat.As the only single diner, I was placed right in front of one of the 3 chefs, so I had a clear view of all preparation. Since it is omakase, there is no point in saying what I had because you'll likely have something totally different. They do have "supplements" that are constant to my knowledge, and I had the foie gras monaka. Everything I ate had a layers of flavors. A literal oral symphony. The uni (sea urchin) is indescribable. The bathroom had a bidet, which is a first in any restaurant I've been to, everyone is knowledgeable and warm, they had Japanese chopsticks ( there is a difference in chopsticks!) and anytime I need to get up there was someone to pull my chair out and push me in.I could go on and on. As a teacher, I can't do experiences like this often, so it was just a pure delight for me.Just go. It is so worth every cent spent.“
“The service is exceptional inside the restaurant. We sat in the area where you have to remove your shoes and sit on the floor and the kids absolutely loved it! The food was good, not better than other hibachi I’ve had. But the chef was incredibly talented and original. I’ve been to hibachi a hundred times and I actually saw two new tricks I’d never seen before. The alcoholic drinks were very tasty! Now, the parking leaves a lot to be desired. It’s operated by 180 and valet only. We waited a good while on our car and the people before us waited even longer. They need a better or more efficient system.Overall, I think this is a place you go when you want a little step up in atmosphere for hibachi not necessarily food.“
“My husband and I love this place! The sushi here is unique and top notch! The ambiance is low-lit, almost speakeasy-ish. We always get the legally blonde and a star is born. You have to get a star is born. It’s delicious. Mama Mia is also really good.Lychi martini is their best drink in my opinion.Sticky toffee cake for dessert. You can never go wrong here. They never miss.“
“Really special experience, unmatched in Atlanta. Pricey, obviously, but it almost transcends dining. The food quality can't be overstated. Sake recs were top notch. The kind of "above and beyond" service you only get at a place like this. The chef is so personable and engaging.“
“This place is amazing!!! My fiancé took me here to celebrate Valentine’s Day. He made reservations ahead of time so we could have a booth to ourselves which I highly recommend as it is first come first serve and definitely added to our experience. Our server, Elva, was also great! We ordered Takoyaki, Shumai, and Gyoza to start. My fiancé loved the Takoyaki and the Gyoza was so flavorful. We then ordered 4 different rolls and all of them were amazing but we will definitely be getting the Double Shrimp Roll & Volcano Roll again. We ended off the night with two desserts and both were delicious! We will be recommending to our friends and will be back :)“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The bento box was a delightful combination of fresh ingredients that left my taste buds dancing with joy. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the exceptional service provided by Jackie, my server. Her attentiveness, warmth, and knowledge of the menu made me feel truly valued as a guest. Additionally, the bartender, Blake, crafted some of the most exquisite cocktails I've ever had the pleasure of sipping. Their combined attention to detail and passion for the craft truly shone through in every aspect of my dining experience. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you, Jackie and Blake, for an unforgettable lunch!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan friendly options here!Dietary restrictions: Servers understand the menu well and are helpful with dietary restrictions.Parking: Plenty of parking in the shopping center.Kid-friendliness: Comfortable environment for families!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible and friendly.“
“As good as advertised but if loud restaurants aren't your thing this may not be for you. Soft shell crab tempura was one of the best I've ever had anywhere! Yellowtail sashimi - like steaks of buttery goodness you won't forget.“
“Having tried thoroughly enjoyed our omakase experiences at Mujo and Hiyakawa we have been trying to find other similar experiences in Atlanta. I am happy to report that Brush's omakase did not disappoint. The service was outstanding. Both the servers and the chef spent generous amounts of time talking with us and making sure we had everything we needed/wanted.We did the 16 course menu and it was the perfect amount a food and I would say it is a better value when compared to Mujo or Hiyakawa. I would say the atmosphere sits in between those two. Mujo having a very chill comfortable vibe and Hiyakawa being more like a museum and culinary course. At Brush you get a more chill vibe and can get as little or as much information you want to the meal. I would also say that Brush is much less overbearing on the rules than either Mujo and Hiyakawa which was very nice. The quality of the fish and dishes were amazing. Brush has a unique rice and some unique presentations that the other places don't have. All things considered I think Brush my be the best overall place (accounting for price, comfort and experience). The only draw back of the omakase experience for me is the the space in not an intimate as the other spots I have mentioned. You can definitely tell you are in Buckhead.“
“I have been looking for a great sushi spot ever since I moved out of the city and this place is a 10/10 for me! I loved seeing the chefs as soon as we walked through the door. The atmosphere was cozy and well-designed. The wait staff was very friendly. And the food was out of this world! We tried a few things- the vegetable tempura and shishamo to start, and then the Happy Roll, Yum Yum Roll, and Orange Blossom. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection, and delicious! This will be our new go-to whenever we get a craving for sushi.“
“This is a good place to have a quiet late lunch/early dinner. The server and the chef were really nice. And getting your food won’t take long. The taste is very good. Especially the fried calamari, and its sauce.Since I am allergic to cucumber, I asked if I could exchange the cucumber for cream cheese or something else, but they wanted to charge extra for the other topping.Would go back to try the fried rice.“
“I personally LOVED this place. Everything we ordered from appetizers to rolls to desserts were all a delight! I usually don't lean towards sushi rolls, but these are some of the best I've had! The garlic pepper toro roll and the 24k roll were both 5/5 stars! Everything we ordered we loved! The desert here is amazing as well! Service was good and attentive, parking here is Valet only so keep that in mind!“
“Super cute interactive things to do in the restaurant itself like a wall for drawings or cute notes along with games to play with your family at the tables. They also have super cool gachapon you just have to ask the staff at the counter for some tokens. The food itself is amazing, i will definitely be making myself a regular here. The staff are also really sweet and pleasant. I’m so happy I found this place“
“My wife and I had an excellent dinner here last night! We loved the different sushi specials and ordered the caterpillar and rainbow rolls. We both ordered a Japanese beer - namely the Sapporo and Orion. Delicious. The noodle dishes were also phenomenal. Looking forward to going back again in the future!“
“Have been getting COVID-19 omakase with Yasu! And I cannot recommended it enough! Every single little detail is not missed even though it is take out. By far one of the best Omakase take in Atlanta currently for it’s price. The amount of food is easily 2-3 times the other omakase and yet the same quality. ❤️“
“I wish I could give it even more than 5 stars. This restaurant has been time-tested by us and we will return here again and again! The employees are always friendly and try to do everything in their power to ensure that customers enjoy their time! The food is excellent, as usual.“
“Japanese with a Korean flair. Great prices + great quality + _extremely_ great service. Surprisingly, they’ve been a “near-kept secret” in Atlanta for nearly 50 years. (Since 1970?)We’ve been eating here & picking up more-and-more regularly for only the past 3 years.“
“After a few visits to Katana, I have to say that the service and food quality has been consistently wonderful. The sushi is fresh and beautifully prepared & presented. The cooked items are cooked to order and have been delicious. The waitstaff is always welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is comfortable & nicely decorated. We look forward to each of our return visits.“
“On our most recent visit, my wife and I started with 2 pieces of nigiri salmon and 2 pieces of smoked nigiri salmon. Both were delicious! The teriyaki steak and teriyaki scallop dishes with fried rice were also well prepared. The staff is amazingly attentive and friendly! This is also our favorite place in the area to get sushi rolls! We love coming to JP!“
“The food and cocktails are amazing. It’s nestled in Virginia Highlands, in a cozy spot right in the corner of the neighborhood. You can sit at the bar and watch the chefs work their magic while listening to good music and sipping on a craft cocktail. Sebastian, who oversees the bar, is amazing and if you have a chance to get to know him you should.Because what really makes this place so special are the people. They make you feel like a regular even when it’s your first time. The restaurant is small so you get an intimate experience in the middle of a busy city. It’s a whole vibe.Plus, the daddies in the kitchen are fire.“
“First time omakase and we landed in heaven. Every bite was perfection. Come early if you want to savor every bite! We only had an hour but still managed to enjoy it all; would have preferred about 1.5 hours or 2 really. The price tag is well worth it.“
“First I have to say how friendly and pleasant the experience was. Excellent service and atmosphere was very relaxing and nice. Kakuni udon was our favorite of the three. Carbonara and pescatore both delicious too. Purple gyoza! Should have gotten a full order, so good! Highly recommend.“
“In a shopping center that doesn't look too nice on the outside. But the restaurant itself on the inside is really beautiful and clean. Driving past this would not prompt me to stop. But, if you want something different that is delicious please visit this Japanese restaurant. Customer service is amazing and the food is absolutely the best!!! Very big portions of food, so come hungry. I wish this place was closer to us.We got a Sando curry sauce chicken with fries that also comes with a small soup ($12.00). As well as a gingeryaki rice bowl with the sauce on the side ($12.00). This meal also came with a small soup. The drinks are a bit pricey. $2.00 for a can of Coke and $4.00 for a Japanese glass soda.“
“Place is under new management/ ownership atmosphere is awesome! Having edamame, short ribs steam veggies glabi ( short ribs) has incredible flavor must have when you come.come see chef Kevin and Annie, Ms Hannah The Dream team!!Don't forget to get the Amazing fresh Sushi!!“
“Our first dining experience here. We felt like we were eating in a cherry blossom garden. Fresh fish and flavor combinations we haven’t seen before. Lots of choices, beautifully plated. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff is very attentive and nice. Can’t believe this gem has been in the middle of Sandy Springs for several years and we just found it. They also have a large outdoor patio that we will try on our next visit, soon.“
“Ru Sans is a ever evolving restaurant. The relatively new ownership has only improved an already great quality restaurant that has more of a friendly neighborhood feel. It has traditional Japanese sushi but many American friendly additions have been made over the years to the menu. I recommend it now more than ever.Parking: The Tower Place parking deck is paid parking but Ru Sans validates for 2 hours free“
“Excellent service, especially from the lady who is always very friendly. Soft music. The bubble tea she makes on the spot is wonderful. I tried the taro flavor. Delicious ? I don't know how to use the chopstick, so I take my adapter ???“
“Omakase by Yun is an incredible dinner experience! The service was impeccable, and the food was fresh, immersive, and delicious. We particularly loved the Big Mac, lean tuna, sashimi selections, sake tasting and cocktails. Chef Yun was welcoming and attentive. And the mixologist Chauncey (Taylor) created some of the best cocktails we've had. On top of all that, the music and vibe were 10/10. Highly recommend!“
“A Japanese couple operates the restaurant. Have very limited capacity and your order might take a while to cook, but it's always great experience!Because there is limited seating and the chef does not have unlimited energy, you should call before you enter the store to make reservations. If you are new to the restaurant, I strongly recommend you to order their bento box special (A, B, C).“
“They fixed it when I went back to get a refund.I ordered vegetable pho with tofu. I might as well have ordered veggies only because there was barely any tofu. I asked if this was the correct serving size for tofu and they said yes. I’m not ever coming back to this restaurant. For the same price, you get more at Pho 24 across the street. I should’ve went there instead of trying something new.“
“Had last minute dinner here while passing by and it was a great choice! The combo dinners are a great deal and you get a decent amount of food for the price, especially for Japanese cuisine. The only hiccup was they got our order wrong but was quickly fixed, but we had also seen a table next to us get the wrong order. Very small space but we were seated quickly on a Sunday night. Space is tight so it was awkward to balance a purse in the seat and also make sure it won’t get knocked over. There’s a designated parking lot in the back and other parking options nearby.Parking: Tight lot in the back. Host can tell you more options at a nearby restaurant/street.“
“I was downtown this week and the craving for Asian food hit me, I stumbled on this restaurant tucked in on a main road, I honestly would have missed it if I was just driving by. What stood out to me about the restaurant more than the building was the was a very colorful woman Mrs. Chang who cracked jokes and made you feel at home it was very nice and inviting. But the restaurant and layout is very nice and cozy honestly. The food was great soooo many options that I NEED to try, did I mention they have Sushi and not just 5 basic rolls they have a great selection. This will definitely be one of my go to spots in the city. More to come!“
“Ok Valentines Evening Dinner. Sat us immediately per our reservation time. It was very busy understandably. Our server was a bit stressed as it was obvious the restaurant was understaffed. I truly felt bad for him because he had no backup, not even to provide water for the table. Food was really good and fairly prompt/no delays. We ended up cancelling our last drinks because our server was so slammed. Overall good experience but the restaurant was not prepared properly for a busy night. We will return no doubt!“
“The service was excellent, hostess gave us great recommendations for food. The food was delicious, I ordered the salmon bento box. Really nice atmosphere and would be great for just a group outing or date night. I e will definitely be back.“
“Himitzu, Atlanta's hidden gem of a lounge, is celebrated for serving some of the city's finest cocktails, a perfect follow-up to a superb dinner after UMI. This speakeasy distinguishes itself with elegant decor and a cozy atmosphere, providing a unique setting for socializing with an impressive crowd. It's a must-visit destination in Atlanta. Secure a dining experience at UMI first, then politely request the secret code for Himitzu access. If it's a quieter night, you might just get the code, or alternatively, you can make a reservation via email. A little charisma can go a long way while making that reservation :)“
“So happy me and the fiancé found this place, we have had some pretty terrible sushi from a couple other spots here in Atalanta, this place is fantastic sushi is good, and the fact that they have AYCE Hibachi as well is next level. We had to drive over an hour to get here and we were not disappointed, food was great, service was quick, attentive and nice. Music they played throughout the night was very nice it was all instrumentals of relatively popular songs enjoyed it very much. I can honestly say after being here only once Tokyo Bay has found a lifelong customer. Excited to come back again“
“Fantastic and fresh! Chef Kong prepared us a wonderful lunch. There was a steady stream of folks picking up togo orders as the words has gotten out. We had heard about this place and drove from Stone Mountain. Everything is fresh, which is such a nice change.“
“I have been living in Atlanta for 7 months and I have been getting circle poke every week without missing it. Everything about that place is amazing. They also have the best kimchi I’ve ever had. The only thing that I would like them to add would be cream cheese to their menu.“
“The front staff was excellent. The Tempura was excellent. Bento boxes are great. The Katsu was good but, a tad over cooked. I had the fried chicken curry. The curry was excellent! The fried chicken consisted of four little thin rectangles of chicken that were overcooked. The curry was so good that I blew it off, but in retrospect I should’ve said something, because this place is pricey. I’d definitely go back and give it another try though.“
“Absolutely loved everything that I got here. I have Celiac's and they wiped down the counters and changed gloves to make sure I could eat safely. They could make basically anything off the menu, gluten free! Obviously don't expect to get tempura or something like that but it was so good.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“We ate here after seeing Cirque du Soleil nearby with our two kids, 10 & 11. The restaurant was clean, and comfortably decorated. I wasn't worried too much about having what amounts to a grill in the middle of our table with the kids. It's obviously hot, but it's not like you'll lose a hand if you get too close here and there. Service was great. Our server was Yuki. He was very attentive, and explained how it worked, and answered any questions. When our food arrived, Yuki told us exactly what each item was, and exactly how long to cook it per side. Not a cheap place to go, especially with kids, but a nice treat after an otherwise fun-filled day with other new first experiences.“
“Amazing food! Great service! The food is some of the best traditional Japanese food around. The ramen is great and so is the sukiyaki udon!**UPDATE **Everything is mostly the same; however, you now have to register for parking and pay. You do get 2 hours which is usually enough to eat there, but it does add slightly more hassle. Their prices have significantly increased. Things that were $15 are 17$... there was a dish that I believe was $11 is now $17. (Don't quote me, I could have misread.... but that's what I remember)“
“The food was absolutely amazing!! My bf and I wanted sushi and found this place through yelp. We got the eel and salmon nigiri, spicy tuna, super crunch shrimp roll, and the their hot tuna roll. All of them were delicious. Legit some of the best sushi I've had in Atlanta. I would recommend making a reservation on a Friday night because they were packed. If you are just going by yourself or one other person I recommend sitting at the sushi bar. It was a great experience and the service was really quick. We will definitely be going back.“
