“Just went out to dinner last night for a quick wedding anniversary date. Had the Wild West shrimp appetizer (always a favorite), and we both ordered ribeyes and baked potatoes. The 1st steak my husband got was very fatty and full of gristle. Both of them were slightly undercooked but that was fine, really. They took one look at Brian's hald cut through steak and immediately apologized. He barely had to mention it after he was asked about it. The manager had the kitchen make him a whole new plate up to take home. We ordered my brother in law a steak and sides to go, since he was babysitting for us. Service was great. We got a table as soon as we entered. It was clean. The staff were on the ball. Our waiter, Greg, had his hands full but he still made sure we had all that we wanted.

“From the time we walked in party of 6 to the time we left.. everything was great... food was amazing ... waiter never let our cups get half ampty... best service I have had in a while... strongly recommend if you're on vacation or are a local!! Great spot .“

“I always recommend Pooles Bar B Que, for the food and service. My guests enjoy as well. You cannot find better brisket especially. If you dine in, most likely have to get to go boxes, because portion’s are generous. Last month I came as they closing and the employees let me order to go. Well I left my debit card in the card reader but did not know until my next stop. I was upset because I wasn’t 💯 percent sure where my card was. I called and left a message and the next morning decided to go by because I was on my way out of town. I didn’t receive a call back and no one was coming to the door because they had not opened yet. So after waiting decided to go around the back to see if anyone might be there, and they were just loading or unloading and didn’t hear me knocking. Anyway they had my card and told me I didn’t have any worries because all the staff were honest and glad they could help me, I was embarrassed about being so careless. So there are so many reasons this special restaurant in Ellijay is one of my favorite places to get a really great meal. I’ve feel like if you weren’t happy with something you ordered they will accommodate you. Try it for yourself, take someone with you!! 🤩😋“

“This is probably one of the most underrated restaurants in Ellijay.
The food and atmosphere are fantastic, good wine selection, and the service is top notch!

If you are in town and tired of Mexican food, give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed.“

“While visiting Ellijay, it came a huge downpour so we stopped by Cartecay Vineyards to sample some wine. What an awesome and quaint place. Loved the rustic setting and Felicia was so nice and helpful. After trying a flight, we also had a peach wine slushy. That was the best wine slushy I have ever had. We had to purchase some of the wine to take home to Tennessee and also bought the custest wind chime made out of a wine bottle. We can't wait to go back on a sunny day to sit outside and look and the gorgeous vineyards. Highly recommend! Thank you, Felicia, for brining a little sunshine into our rainy afternoon!“

“We recently took our friends to spend an afternoon at Engelheim Vineyards. Everything was wonderful - nice wines, yummy British pies, charcuterie, beautiful scenery, and relaxing live music. The place is family owned and the owners are attentive and engaging. We went to see the wedding venue there and it is lovely! We highly recommend this vineyard in Ellijay!“

“LOVE the ZA. We have been going to Hitching Post for a couple years now. Great pizza and sandwiches. Nothing fancy, but pizza has nice thin crust and LOTS of toppings for the perfect combination. Also, the owners actually work there and we always love supporting local small business. Thanks for being a staple of Ellijay.“

It's not upscale so don't expect that when you come here but if you want a quick, delicious bite for cheap, this is the place to stop.

“We were heading home from Blue Ridge, GA and wanted a local breakfast. Our daughter found you online and we are so glad she did. We had french toast, bacon, eggs, grits, egg bake with gravy and of course pancakes. Our granddaughter loves pancakes and you can tell she’s happy! ? It was all delicious! We also enjoyed the couple playing and singing. What a great way to end our vacation.“

I tried tasting just the meat, and omg I could have ate just the patty by itself it was so flavorful and juicy!“
