The food was superb but what was exceptional was our server, Edgar: We mentioned a food allergy and he was proactive about everything we were served reiterating what was safe for the person impacted. Kennedy, the manager was especially attentive and friendly as well. It's so refreshing to experience great food and exceptional service. We'll definitely be back.“

The sides were delicious. We ordered the prime rib "medium-rare". It came to us more like well-done. Little disappointed, thinking any cook would "get it". It was still very good and we ate it up. We did let the server, Brittany, know. She, btw, was super good and deserved our tip. Would we go again? Absolutely! Again, with a little fine-tuning, I think this spot could kill it!“

“I live out of town & go to Brunswick at least once every week & eat at Maggie Mae’s. They are so nice, very fast service, always checking on you & the food is Amazing! I definitely recommend them!! They even serve breakfast all day. I just wish they were open later. Sometimes my appointments are after 2 pm & they’re closed so I miss out but I always eat here whenever I can! “We have been going to the island for many years and have never stopped at HDA. What a mistake! My wife and I just wanted a simple meal at a good price. We did not even look at the hours but rolled up at 2:00 pm, their closing time. The ladies were so kind and did not say a word that they were closing. We both got jumbo dogs with the fixings and potato salad. I then noticed the hours and apologized but they were happy to serve us. Food was delicious and we sat on the deck with our lab and watched the world go by. Ladies offered our pup a treat as well. This is now a definite stop for us on the island.“

“Our second trip to GSG was not as pleasant as the first. Our table was plagued with several flies that harassed us our entire meal, I actually dispatched an ant crawling on the table too. Our smoked fish dip appetizer was extremely “fishy” like it was made with mullet or something. It was not good. We each tried one taste and left it alone. The crab stew was great. My triple tail special was great. My daughter’s bacon poached salmon was supposed to be prepared medium, but it was rare…very. So, I wound up trading her a portion of my dinner so she would not have to eat almost raw fish. Overall, I expected much more consistent greatness given the difficulty we have had obtaining a reservation. Disappointed“

“The River Bar is a terrific lobby option at The Cloisters Sea Island. The friendly professional staff greets you at the host stand and at the bar. We enjoyed a quick burger and beer our first night at the resort. We especially loved their three appetizer bowl with pickled beans, and two bowls of peanut. The bar area also has ample tables and a gorgeous dining room with a roaring fireplace. Very posh decor.

Heather, Leann, Kayla and crew are always kind, offer great service and create a warm and fun atmosphere. “Was excited to try after reading reviews. Seated quickly and server took drink orders. Then the world stopped. After waiting 55 minutes we inquired about our order and learned from the hostess there was no “cook” in the kitchen. This became apparent when we noticed only one table in the entire restaurant, both inside and outside, had food on the table. Sadly, the food we did see didn’t look particularly good either. The views are simply spectacular, and to be honest the food,music, and drinks were totally amazing! I was expecting very little with the food and the service, but it was phenomenal. When we arrived they pulled our information and one lady asked us “indoor or outdoor?” The other hostess told her the system said “indoor with window seating” and gave her a look of disappointment. As they walked me to my sitting area it was not window seating and table was wobbly. I was unable to do my whole “thing” I had planned and just started off the evening not on a good start, but drinks made up for it 🤷‍♂️😒“
