My family and I recently visited for breakfast, and we were blown away by the quality and care that went into every bite. The pancakes were the perfect mix of fluffy and crispy, with golden edges that added the ideal crunch. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bacon? It was everything bacon should be… crispy, smoky, and satisfying. The fried chicken was a standout, perfectly seasoned and fried to a golden, juicy crisp. But the real star of the meal? The cinnamon honey biscuits!!! These were hands down the best biscuits we’ve ever had… soft, buttery, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth heavenly! The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was warm and welcoming, making the experience even better. Yummies Cafe is a hidden gem that truly lives up to its name. “This is a slice of home in a corner spot. I felt like I was in my Aunt/ Grannies house on Sunday. The food was stellar, and the ambiance warm. If you understand Southern style, this will be nostalgic. They can't manufacture or replicate this type of atmosphere in a big chain. Now I need to visit at least once per week so I can feed my soul. I had 3 plates of food and was so full, but as we drove off I wish I had eaten more.“

“This is the best bar on the southside. Manny is the best bartender in my opinion. He always acknowledges you when you come in and makes sure you have a good time. Nick and a few other staff also are good about stepping in to help out it make's your experience great. This bar gives you that home away from home vibe most of us in our 30s look for.“

“We had just flown in from Austin to Atlanta and it was late so we wanted something to eat, we decided on Kenny’s. I was awestruck when we walked in, I could tell they were going for a “run-down” aesthetic and it totally worked. Most of the restaurant was a dance floor, that’s the only reason half the rooms would be empty, and random things like a ladder and a paint can were around the area for us to find. The 70s movie about heroin really added to the vibe. We were completely alone which must mean that everyone else ate it so fast that they were already gone. I ordered chicken tenders and fries. I could tell this was a high end hole in the wall because of the empty cafeteria style serving area and the exclusive use of to-go foam trays. The two men behind the counter had thick Mexican accents one wore a nirvana shirt, how fancy! When I went to go get my drink I was amazed to see that they had three flavors of kool-aid! I’ve never seen a restaurant like that! We sat down at one of the 5 tables in the 4 large rooms. After a short time our food came, when I tried it I understood how it was a tribute to mid food everywhere, it was profoundly meh 🫤 I was enchanted. Then we left.“

I'd consider coming back to try something else on the menu.“

“Ordered late night after World Cup event around 10:30pm at my hotel downtown. Worth the wait the lemon pepper is my favorite with drum wings and fries. I'm choosing to update and not delete my previous comments on the food because I want people to see what my honest first review was when I first tried the food many, many years ago.

But I have to be completely honest and say I literally dang near moved down the street and around the corner and I have consistently been up in Annie Laura's face and their food has been NOTHING but consistent and good! Not sure who was doing the cooking back in the day but whoever they got in there now the team they have in there now baby they be handling business!
The collard greens with the turkey meat still hitting, the stuffing and gravy is is better now than it has ever been. I literally will just get the stuffing and the gravy by itself with collard greens and just straight smash it! Now they're not over the top friendly but they're definitely not rude and they're not mean they just work very very hard there!
So thank you Annie Laura's for keeping me fed with some good food that has been consistent and yummy!!“

“I tried this place for lunch and I am glad I made the trip. Their service was friendly and answered my questions about possible options to get. I went with the jerk ribs rice & peas cabbage and a side of plantains. The only thing that was left were the bones. Sure enough some of that sauce was on my shirt. If you pick up the ribs with your hands just be ready to catch them with your plate. They fall off the bone type of ribs. There was some bbq sauce but blended well with the season. The cabbage was seasoned and tasted freshly cooked. Let's talk about the plantains. Perfectly cut and cooked. I can't even get that can of plantain quality in a Spanish restaurant. Best I have had. They do have a lunch special and plenty of side options. My only regret is not trying their juice. Next time I am trying the jerk chicken and stew.“

“When I first came in I smelled the aroma of what I will soon to know of the best food I’ve tasted in a while. I was greeted with a welcome home which instantly made me comfortable. I ordered the big back burrito and the man behind the counter offered me to try their new lemonade FREE OF CHARGE. Customer Service was amazing. The place was clean and well lit and the bathrooms were extremely clean. I got my burrito in 5 - 10 minutes and it was the BEST burrito I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend.“

Please note, the food is pricy, I paid approximately 15 dollars for 2 leg quarters. I'm glad I tried them out. The young lady at the window was a delight. She is extremely friendly.
