“Love the drive-through option at this location. It makes me feel like the food will come out fast and it did. Customer Service is nice and the building is pristine as I expected for the Woodstock area. I’ve eaten at City BBQ chain several times in Sandy Springs. It’s funny that most locations have the same rating (4.3 or 4.4). I believe it’s because this place is incredibly consistent. You know when you come here that you can find something good to eat. Not everything is on the wow level, but it’s good and that’s a good thing.

Not many meal deals and the menu isn’t very elaborate but some variety. The ribs and everything fried is pretty good. Prices are fair in “today’s market pricing” although at mom and pop shops you may get a bit more quantity, but maybe not as much consistency and speed.

The little brisket platter at $11.49 looks small but it was enough for me. When you add two sides & a drink + a tip if you’d like, you’re $20-$25 for a lunch barbecue brisket meal. You could get the sandwich with a side for less if you want the breading and less meat. It had a little smoked taste, which I liked, I prefer long cuts on the brisket instead of these squares, some cut thick and some cut thin. Looked dry-was a bit dry on first bite but easy to chew, when I dipped it in the barbecue sauce, it was fine. I was looking for that pink smoke rim on the meat.

I am particular about mac & cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, so to save my stomach any issues I typically pick the safer options which are green beans, baked beans, fried okra, hush puppies, french fries, onion rings. The green beans were delicious with a good amount of meat inside. Not sure if it was turkey or pork. The okra taste was delicious but because of the oil, I definitely needed that soda to wash it down. I was quite sleepy after this meal.

Overall, because of the consistency and cleanliness, I’d recommend and come back here. I could order the ribs and brisket again, wish they had more sides like collard greens, baked potato, steamed okra, peas, southern style potato salad, corn on the cobb or kernels, corn bread. It does say city BBQ, not country BBQ, lol.“

“Did the Brunch buffet today. Everything I sampled was good to excellent. Definitely no complaints. All the staff were helpful, courteous, and smiling. JD even played a pinball game with my 2 grandsons. My only complaint, if you want to call it that,was being charged for ice tea. Trust me, that won't stop us from going again. EXCELLENT!!“

“We had such a great experience thanks to our hostess, Faith Parem. She was friendly, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. You can tell she really cares about the guests and pays attention to the little details that make a difference.

And fun bonus: Faith also makes really good butter! Sounds random, but it was actually delicious and added a special touch to the meal.

“I’ve eaten several times and every meal has been delicious. You can tell they know what they are doing and really care about the food tasting really good. The food is prepared very well and simply delicious. The service is fantastic. I highly recommend eating here.
I routinely get the mac n cheeses and coleslaw to go for family outings and get togethers. Today I had ribs, tender and delicious, man n cheese (always killer!) and brisket chili which was really tasty! I like that they don’t try and re-invent anything, they just produce excellent tasting food. As I sat eating lunch, I was struck by how many people came in to pick up a to go order presumably for some big event. The exact thing I was doing. Food is fantastic!!“

If you’re looking for real barbecue, look no further. From the moment you walk in, the smell alone lets you know you’re in for something special. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs were perfectly smoked with just the right amount of bark, and the sides — don’t even get me started on the mac and cheese and cornbread. You can tell they put love and patience into every plate they serve.

The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home, like we were old friends dropping by for a meal. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and every bite was packed with flavor. Easily one of the best BBQ experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be coming back (and bringing more friends with me)!

“Last week stopped by Big Shanty Smokehouse in Kennesaw, Georgia. I’ve been going here for years and always has been one of my favorite places in Georgia. Paul Holden of Willingham's World Champion BBQ recently took over as the new owner in August and excited to see what he continues to bring. He’s top notch pitmaster in the competition world but also has been in the restaurant business as well. I got the brisket which was amazing and also some of their signature Turkey ribs (Friday Special) and of course some Brunswick stew and Mac & Cheese. Everything was very good and will be back soon. “I had Uncle C's for the first time this past weekend. The owners, a mother and son, were extremely nice and helpful. They operate out of their food truck amd the food they are putting out is amazing! We had the dark and white jerk bbq, bbq ribs, pulled pork, mac & cheese, and rice & beans. Everything was well-seasoned and tasty. The chicken and ribs were cooked to perfection and the sauce was on point. We will definitely be visiting again...soon!“

“I want to preface this review by saying “I’m just glad I don’t have to drive all the way to Kennesaw or Decatur for Korean anymore!” We went for lunch. As my husband is fluent in Korean and has a background there, we have had our fair share of immersive Korean experiences and food from many locales. Our server - Aiden - was excellent. He was chill, knowledgeable, and well mannered. The banchan was very good - slightly Americanized but very good. Saying “slightly Americanized” is not an insult. You have to create food that would invite people to eat it and try new things while not turning people away due to flavor profiles not typically accepted in the US (e.g., memil muk). This restaurant is exactly as described - it is a K-POP Korean barbecue. If you’re looking for a fried fish, a raw egg in your rice, etc. this isn’t it. All of the servers are not Korean (there is not a huge population of Korean people nearby to hire from). You should be prepared to do the cooking yourself but they’re helpful and will show you how to do it - no cross contamination, using scissors, where it’s hottest on the grill, etc. Overall, we were very happy with our experience there and I’m sure we will not only be repeat customers but will take many friends with us there over time.“

A buddy of mine had the Catfish and wasn’t too impressed as it was quite dry but the rest of the food was delicious; fantastic shrimp! Service was impeccable & we throughly enjoyed the entertainment. The service is always good and the food comes out quick. Brunch is my new favorite. The crab cake was great quality big portion and the avacado toast was phenomenal. “I just went in there to get 40 bucks of food for my family. I SCREWED UP and accidentally put the wrong time, I didn't realize how they cooked it so fast. So I had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes, they were really nice and really caring. Food was amazing for the price, my dish total was like 14 Ish dollars. I can probably get 4 meals out of it. About 3.50 per meal, which for a complete dinner is amazing. My parents loved the food too. Love this place not sure why it has only 4.3 stars instead of higher.“

“My party walked in and placed a pretty sizable order. We sat down and realized the restaurant was closing in 5 minutes. I apologized and told the cashier we would take it to go- we had no idea they were closing. All of the staff were genuinely kind and accommodating, inviting us to dine in if we’d like. We did end up taking it to go (with a kind bonus of peach cobbler), and even though the food is outSTANDING- crispy and flavorful wings, juicy ribs, etc- we are impressed with the professionalism of the team working tonight.

“I've been coming here for a few years. One of my favorite items on the menu is Kimchi Jjigae. It comes out boiling and is very good. The wait staff often do a double take when I order it as it's not something most Americans prefer. I've been accused of being Korean in a former life. Another standout on the menu is the Donkatsu. They give you enough for two meals, and it's very good. The banchan (side dishes) are all good. I like the potato, eggplant, and fish cakes. They also have a kimchi pancake appetizer that I've enjoyed.“

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We all did the hot pot experience, but I will be back soon to do the Korean barbecue grill experience.
