Hala Tree Coffee Coffee Shops • $

“We visited Hala Tree for a coffee tour during our stop to Kona while on a Hawaiian cruise. It exceeded ALL expectations! With a group of 11 (coffee and non-coffee drinkers), everyone loved the tour. Molly was our guide and she was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable on all things coffee! We got three half-flights and enjoyed stunning views while we savored some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. We made sure to stock up before heading home and will be telling everyone about our wonderful experience!“

Rooster Farms Coffee Coffee Shops • $$
84-1245 Bruner Rd, Captain Cook

“After a lovely drive up the hillside through a collection of other small coffee farms, almost near the top of the road you will find Rooster Farms! Ed, the owner/farmer was super nice! He is very knowledgeable and open about his farm, their processes and how the coffee growing industry works in Kona. I learned so much in our short visit! Ed offered us a fresh pour-over tasting of the coffee from his farm! We got to taste a dark and light roast. Delicious taste and beautiful aromas. I usually don’t like dark roast but it was great. Then we walked amongst the coffee plants for a while by ourselves. No gimmicks or anything like that, very warm and inviting. Jump in your rental car and spend a few minutes at the farm, and buy a few bags of coffee! We will be back“

Koa Coffee Plantation Coffee Shops •
82-1213 Greenwell Mountain Rd, Captain Cook

“I’ve been exploring Kona coffee lately and ordered the Tri-Pack to give this a shot. I have settled in on the Estate which I think was by far the best of the 3. The shipping the first time around was a bit suspect as it showed up in a USPS bag that looked like it came from EBAY or something. After my first order, the regular shipments have been arriving in boxes. I sent a bag to one of my family members and it took a while to get to Boston, but they loved the coffee - as I do.I will be trying some other Kona brands to compare, but I don’t have any of the quality complaints that some others have mentioned on here. I’d recommend Koa to others.“
