“This is such an amazing gem hidden in the lush tropical Hamakua countryside. The array of local farmed food and crafts is top notch! Lots of hot food to eat while you're there also. This is as local as you can get for Hawaii.”

“Lots of unique specialty coffee and matcha options, it was hard to choose! I had an iced Habibi latte which tasted similar to a dirty chai—it was *so* good and not too sweet. My partner had the cold brew with cream and it was really good and strong. Really cute space and friendly, welcoming service.”

“I never thought that doing a “jam flight” would be part of a trip from Hilo to Akaka Falls. We dropped Mr. Ed’s after getting a recommendation from either Claude or a Facebook group, and the stop was an event in itself.

Mr. Ed is incredibly friendly. He makes his jams by hand, is happy to give you samples, and has terrific stories to share alongside them. The store was truly (and unexpectedly) a highlight of our trip to the Hilo area.”

“We ordered the birria taco platter and a birria burrito, the tacos came with beans and rice and both entres came with consume. The birria was seasoned and cooked well, both came with a large portion of meat. We came back again and the quality was consistent. Highly recommend if you want good mexican food on the island.”

“Really awesome fruit, genuinely the best I've ever had and I've been to the Bahamas and has fresh local fruit... it doesn't even compare to the quality and price of these guys! They also had very unique jewelry for men or women that was very cool! Now their best quality has to be their spectacular customer service. We showed up less than 5 minutes before they closed and were met with free samples, items, and respect even though they were trying to close. They chopped our fruit for us, bagged it, and even cut our coconuts open to give us the meat and waited for us to get done drinking our coconut water. If we lived in Hawaii we would come here at least once a week guaranteed. 6/5 stars.”
