“This place seems to be not well known to Koreans yet. I think Hawaii Shave Ice is one of the best restaurants in the dessert world. The ice that the female owner serves is so big and round, and what is the golden ratio between syrup and condensed milk? (The male version is delicious, but it is not enough in quantity, sauce mixing, or taking pictures. Definitely eat it when the woman is around.) Day 3 in Hawaii But I already ate it twice. (Tested by male and female owners respectively) I will probably go there 2-3 more times until I go to Korea.“

“Love coming here with the hubby, especially as a Friday treat and after a long week. I almost always go for the Ube and mix it up with the second flavor. Toasted marshmallow was a great compliment to the Ube, alongside their irresistible croffles for good measure :) Also just wanted to give a huge shout out to the staff, and especially to Tina for her friendliness, wonderful service and aloha. “Truly a hidden gem. Ice cream cupcakes?!! Hibiki ice cream?!!Custom two layered ice cream cakes?!I am shocked that this place isn't popping off ...yet. I had their skittles cupcake and hibiki ice cream the first time. For take out, I got my wife the smores and ube cupcakes to go. I couldn't stop craving it so I was back the next week. I also bought a custom skittles cake for a friend's birthday and everyone was blown away by it. I requested a rainbow skittles cake and the meringue was just awesome. Though skittles wasn't everyone's favorite as it is tart. Any skittles fan will love this cake.

Parking: Shared parking lot but I've been able to find parking every time easily.“

“My family & I checked out this ice cream shop in the Chinatown district in Oahu, while visiting from California, and we are new fans! My two sons enjoyed a strawberry & chocolate ice cream, & I had me their delicious “black sesame” ice cream. The black sesame is a must try! All their ice cream are handmade & creamy with a lovely taste that will want you to go back for more.“

“Sat outside with a beautiful, direct view of the ocean. Ordered a chicken and gnocchi dish. Never had gnocchi before and was expecting something less dumpling-like and more pasta-like. The chicken and pesto in the dish were perfect. When our waitperson asked because I had left most of the gnocchi on my plate, I explained that it was simply unexpected, not that I was complaining. He notified his supervisor who came to check, and I again said it was not a complaint. He offered to substitute something else, but I was already full and looking forward to dessert. They removed the charge from the bill instead without me asking them to do so. Hostess and waitperson were professional, friendly, and efficient. Pricing is quite reasonable considering that this is tourist central within walking distance of Waikiki beaches. Happy to return another time.“

A lot of times, they are unique twists on American or European desserts. This place is no exception and does it well. I had a mango Dole Whip with a mochi waffle pop. I love the fact that they make the mochi waffle fresh, so you get the hot waffle next to that cold Dole Whip. Great combination. At about $7, it isn't bad considering they are making something fresh for you versus just scooping out something into a cup and sending you on your way. The staff was friendly and showed care in their preparation of my order. There is a good assortment of different offerings, so you'll find something for just about any taste moods.“

“This is my go to ice cream shop. All of the ice cream and gelato are made in house. I enjoy sitting in the shop and savoring my minuto scoop (kiddie cone) on a vegan sugar cone. This is a good place to bring your kids. The flavors are unique and the portions that are served are plentiful.
They also sell pints of ice cream and ice cream sandwiches.“

“Was charged once for a medium strawberry smoothie with banana added. Cashier was busy making the drink , saw the approved sign but was asked to re insert my card again. I have the receipt for Second transaction. Looked at my bank statement online and saw 2 pending transactions from the same establishment. I called in and asked the worker that there is two pending transactions and that I should give it 24hrs. Well 24 hrs went by and the first transaction that was approved went through. Tried calling the establishment but no answer. I got my refund and the cashier working was really friendly and helpful.“

“We wanted ice cream after Momosan apps, and couldn’t resist the hilarious, HONEST name! We found the shop with Google map’s help for the last minute of walking 😂. So so good. So many tasty choices. For our first time, I had brown sugar vanilla and chocolate; the husband had two dips of Kona coffee. Did I say so, so good? The proprietress was a doll, so friendly and aloha. “Fun little sweets shop in Koko Marina that's perfect for after dinner dessert. They're generous with samples, the flavors are so good. It's a little pricey but rent in that mall isn't cheap, so you can't blame them. Definitely the best place for dessert on the East side of town.“

We had a matcha soft serve on a cone this visit.
Ube and peach were the seasonal flavors available, though almost everyone ordered matcha.

Original, 2023:
Amazingly creamy, lightly bitter matcha soft serve!
We ordered a matcha shave ice with matcha soft serve to share between 2 adults.
Plenty of dessert to go around.

Ice was a tad chunky and crunchy, not super fine.
3 mochi balls and 1 chestnut
A scoop of sweetened red beans
The soft serve was swirled and more matcha powder was sprinkled on top

This matcha shave ice is winning against my previous favorite at Uncle Clay's HOPA.

First week of March 2023: special flavors are Ube and
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms), which can be swirled together.
I would like to try the Ube next time. Sakura sounds pretty good, but Matcha will likely be the favored choice each time.

Staff were extremely polite and pleasant.
Shop doesn't accept cash, you must use a credit card or your phone (payment via Square).

The place got busy. The worker was by herself, and she was telling us that she has online orders too. She was starting to feel overwhelmed.

Anyway, we had coffee ice cream and corn queso ice cream. The coffee ice cream just did it to complete our brunch.

“I would really never review a chain like this. BUT only 1 reason. The gentleman that worked last night Friday May 24, 2024, closing shift. Did the best job that I ever seen. Kept his composure, greeted and thanked customers. Serviced a continuous line BY HIMSELF. Which included taking orders, making orders and cashiering, AGAIN BY HIMSELF. Did an amazing job. Not only has to be his own security for safety purposes but wow he deserves a raise. Then he has to close the place alone. Thats a lot of responsibility. Easily this was thee employee of the month hands down, even year. Kid If your reading this and they don't give you a raise contact me I will get you a better job.“

“Haagen-Dazs is safe and secure no matter where you eat it. When I eat this after a failed plate lunch at a local restaurant that I didn't do any research on, I feel like I can't go wrong here. Hawaii's climate whets the appetite for ice cream. While waiting in line, children can watch the staff scooping ice cream over and over again, so children can have fun while waiting.
You can take out the ice cream and eat it on a poolside bench at the nearby hotel where you are staying. (I think it is best to avoid eating at facilities where you are not staying as it is not common sense.)“
