“7 Gradi Gelato at SALT is a must-visit!

Their sorbets are light, refreshing, and completely dairy-free. Perfect if you’re looking for a cool treat without the cream.

I especially appreciated how friendly and helpful the girl working was. She made great recommendations and created such a welcoming vibe.

It was the ideal way to cool off on a hot day in Honolulu.

“this place is a little tucked in the back behind the other carts selling every souvenir imaginable, but was 100% worth sticking it thru and trying to find them at the end. the flavors were top notch, and the lady selling them was a delight. i got some sort of gummy cubes on mine as well as this marshmallow seeming things that were fantastic. “Looking for something different for dessert or a snack in Waikiki? Check out this place. Asian style desserts are very unique and should be given a try if you never had them. A lot of times, they are unique twists on American or European desserts. This place is no exception and does it well. I had a mango Dole Whip with a mochi waffle pop. I love the fact that they make the mochi waffle fresh, so you get the hot waffle next to that cold Dole Whip. Great combination. At about $7, it isn't bad considering they are making something fresh for you versus just scooping out something into a cup and sending you on your way. The staff was friendly and showed care in their preparation of my order. There is a good assortment of different offerings, so you'll find something for just about any taste moods.“

“I love the flavors, very unique and natural, very different than most gelato places in town, my fam ate here everytime we are in Waikiki, as we live locally. I never really left a review, but today I brought a friend from abroad to try a second time, and we got a 2 scoop cone that didn't even fill up... it was very sad and funny, since the 2 scoop cone was so big, and both top of the cone and inside was all hollow dried cone. We were observing the crowd and other customers with kids also got super tiny scoop! What is going on? We were not as satisfied with the changes, not sure if it has to do with the employees being untrained properly, or just cutting budget? If the gelato serving is shrinking... then don't offer big cones and cups! It will just look bad. I didn't even take a picture because it looks very sad... I will come back again eventually and hope to see some positive changes.“

“Wow! AMAZING & very unique gelato cake!!! I have got the Nipponpolitan (matcha, black sesame and red bean) Wow, what a cake! Absolutely delicious, delightful and very special. Especially after recent trip to Japan, it feels so nice to be able to get these flavors. I d say one of the MOST UNIQUE CAKES I HAVE EVER HAD! And one the the best ones! “Was charged once for a medium strawberry smoothie with banana added. Cashier was busy making the drink , saw the approved sign but was asked to re insert my card again. I have the receipt for Second transaction. Looked at my bank statement online and saw 2 pending transactions from the same establishment. I called in and asked the worker that there is two pending transactions and that I should give it 24hrs. Well 24 hrs went by and the first transaction that was approved went through. Tried calling the establishment but no answer. I got my refund and the cashier working was really friendly and helpful.“

“This is my go to ice cream shop. All of the ice cream and gelato are made in house. I enjoy sitting in the shop and savoring my minuto scoop (kiddie cone) on a vegan sugar cone. This is a good place to bring your kids. The flavors are unique and the portions that are served are plentiful.
They also sell pints of ice cream and ice cream sandwiches.“

We had a matcha soft serve on a cone this visit.
Ube and peach were the seasonal flavors available, though almost everyone ordered matcha.

Original, 2023:
Amazingly creamy, lightly bitter matcha soft serve!
We ordered a matcha shave ice with matcha soft serve to share between 2 adults.
Plenty of dessert to go around.

Ice was a tad chunky and crunchy, not super fine.
3 mochi balls and 1 chestnut
A scoop of sweetened red beans
The soft serve was swirled and more matcha powder was sprinkled on top

This matcha shave ice is winning against my previous favorite at Uncle Clay's HOPA.

First week of March 2023: special flavors are Ube and
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms), which can be swirled together.
I would like to try the Ube next time. Sakura sounds pretty good, but Matcha will likely be the favored choice each time.

Staff were extremely polite and pleasant.
Shop doesn't accept cash, you must use a credit card or your phone (payment via Square).

“Haagen-Dazs is safe and secure no matter where you eat it. When I eat this after a failed plate lunch at a local restaurant that I didn't do any research on, I feel like I can't go wrong here. Hawaii's climate whets the appetite for ice cream. While waiting in line, children can watch the staff scooping ice cream over and over again, so children can have fun while waiting.
You can take out the ice cream and eat it on a poolside bench at the nearby hotel where you are staying. (I think it is best to avoid eating at facilities where you are not staying as it is not common sense.)“

“Our group had a craving for pizza and we stumbled on Lewers. The person working the storefront accommodated our half/half all meat/pepperoni pizza and it was ready in about 25-30 minutes. The crust was floppy but the cheese and toppings were flavorful and not too greasy/oily. It was a pleasant find.“
