“My husband and I have been eating our way through the menu and haven't had a bad meal ever! It's my favorite place to eat on the island. My personal favorites are the deep fried mac n cheese or fries poutine appetizers, the duck or lamb dinners and always the cheesecake with bacon toffee or chocolate pudding. Drinks are fantastic and I love the infused smoked effects that can be added or the sweet martini drink on the dessert menu that tastes like drinking a snickerdoodle cookie. They have the biggest selection of whiskey, bourbon, scotch and rye around. A definate must try! It's truly the BOMB! ❤“

“If you only get sushi once on the island, this is where you should go. We have been coming to this spot for years and cannot say enough good things about the food and service. Daily fresh caught local fish served up in creative and delicious dishes in Maki Roll, Sushi Burrito, or Poke Bowl style.“

“This place was highly recommended by my patient that was part of a Facebook Group that posted about this place a lot and they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). “We stopped here with family (6) on a Sunday evening in September, we had no wait to sit outside. The food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. I LOVE the cali burrito and the kids favorite is the bean burrito. We love Pacos Tacos. ❤️🌮🌮“

“I recently stayed at Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant and absolutely loved it! The rooms were charming and cozy, perfectly capturing the lodge’s unique atmosphere. Dining at the restaurant was a delight, with delicious food and a warm ambiance. Its proximity to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park made exploring easy, while the surrounding ferns, forests, and native bird songs added a magical touch. The well-managed, welcoming staff truly made it a memorable stay!“

“Aunty Pon’s was delicious!! My husband and I shared the chicken pad Thai and spring rolls. The chicken pad Thai was a generous portion with more than enough for the both of us. It was light and fresh. So delicious!! We love Aunty Pon. Thank you for feeding us a delicious Christmas dinner!“

“I love this place ! The food is mostly plate lunches tasty sandwiches/burgers, and fried stuff, but the quality is good and the prices are very reasonable. Bowling is fun but I’d recommend reserving lanes before going as they can get full fast. Also there’s a video game and billiards area. You don’t have to be Military to go here to enjoy either. My only dissatisfaction is that they are sometimes very understaffed to the point the workers look worn out and get temperamental from basic requests. But I do love this place and will continue to take my chances ?

Parking: Some parking lot areas, plus parallel parking options by the cabins.

“Annual Halloween costume contest was fun as always. They had designed 4 sweet and spooky specialty cocktails for the evening. I bought 2 drinks at once before the cocktail line got long. The dj played a variety of dance beats that kept the crowd moving. The empty cups were removed in a timely manner.

Food was available next door in the mess hall early in the evening.“

“My favorite place in Volcano village! They’ve got ono food and drinks, awesome staff and the atmosphere they’ve created is unmatched!“

“The night of the 42nd volcano eruption, we enjoyed a front window seat to the massive lava fountains! Created a great backdrop to a great meal. The restaurant is inside the very old classic Volcano Lodge; complete with wood fireplace. Staying in the lodge made it simple to have meals; we ate at the Rim two nights, one night at the more casual Lodge restaurant Uncle Georges Lounge. All meals were prepared very well.

For the first meal, we ordered a couple of Mai Tais that were nicely flavorful. For appetizers, I can recommend the Furikake Seared Ahi; gently seared with very flavorful colorful condiments. Plus, the portion was relatively generous as well.

The chef's entree special was an amazing local fish prepared attractively and tasting marvelous.

For our second night, the volcano was no longer erupting and the crowds of watchers had left so the meal was far less hectic. Did a less extravagant meal of Big Island Stuffed Chicken (great stuffing of Feta cheese and greens!) and it was a great choice. Straying from fish my partner went with the perfectly grilled 12 oz Hawaiian beef ribeye. Finished up with a fun crème brûlée with lots of burnt sugar!.

Not a restaurant to drive 1-2 hours to, but if you find yourself on the mountain, well-worth stopping for a great meal here. but try to get there when the volcano isn't erupting or you'll be trampled, pushed, and find nowhere to park.“
