“Had a really nice, first-time experience here recently. Big menu, something for everyone in your party. Service was quick. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner. The food was out about five minutes after ordering. Their regular entrees (saimins, curries, etc) are large portions. Honestly enough to share! Had leftovers at home and it was just as tasty as in the restaurant. 10/10!“

“the staff is phenomenal, the food is incredible, and the drinks are amazing. Does that give you an indication of how much we love this place? You can find a lot of places that have one or two of the three but it's a rare restaurant that hosts all three in a convenient location. I've not had a single thing on the menu that I wouldn't order again and I've eaten the entire menu except for two entrées, many of them two or three times.“

“Marugame Udon downtown is a dependable spot for a quick, satisfying Japanese meal. I got the Premium Tendon with crispy tempura over rice: zucchini, sweet potato, shrimp, and chicken, finished with rich dashi sauce and a seasoned egg. The tempura was light, golden, and crisp, and the rice soaked up the savory sauce perfectly.

I also added tamagoyaki, extra shrimp tempura, and zucchini tempura on the side, plus a large Asahi beer, which was a perfect cold pairing with the warm fried tempura. The service was amazing, and the ambiance is incredible for a casual downtown restaurant: bright, energetic, clean, and modern. Great spot for a filling and delicious meal in downtown Honolulu.“

“I only come here for the Pho. The broth is not salty but savory. That's good because other Pho restaurants have you drinking 5 cups of water afterwards. portion size is mid with a few slices of meat and couple meatballs. The portion size will not satisfy a normal adult. I can't say that it's worth it to drop $18 and not be full. It is enough to satisfy the taste buds though.“

“A MUST VISIT! I'm writing this review as a repeat customer. I've tried Fumi's when they were in the North Shore and I've tried their food twice now at the Ala Moana location and it's delicious!

I came this time because I really wanted to check out their Garlic Basil Chicken. If anyone has ever had TapEx Taiwanese style popcorn chicken in San Diego, then you will be very pleased with this dish. I love the balance of spice, texture, and smothering their delicious spicy garlic butter shrimp sauce on my rice.

“If you love pho or are looking for a break from Hawaiian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. It’s a classic Vietnamese restaurant that feels like a homemade kitchen, serving authentic and comforting dishes.

The pho broth was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and served with plenty of fresh herbs. The grilled pork chop was another highlight: perfectly cooked, fresh, juicy, and pleasantly savory without being overly sweet.

The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of the food. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal if you’re visiting Waikīkī. Just be aware that parking is limited, so finding a spot can be a bit challenging.

“We ordered take out. We ordered two Chicken Katsu Curry Rice as well as a Spicy Beef Ramen. Everything was fantastic. Served hot and quickly. The portions are very large. No one in our party ate all their food. It was three of us and could’ve easily fed six, so order wisely if you don’t want to end up with leftovers. This is our third year in a row of starting summer break in Hawaii, flying in from the East Coast and the third year in a row we order from Daiichi Ramen on the day we arrive. We look forward to it every year! Great food, Great Service and Large Portions.“

“This review is for the oxtail soup and the oxtail soup only. It hits so hard I don't know what kind of magic they put in there. Ever since I had it for the first time this year I haven't stopped coming back for more.

Honestly, I don't know why I waited so long to try it, especially when Asahi Grill is the home of the original oxtail soup. The combination of the salty, savory richness with that bright citrusy kick is unlike anything I've had before. I've tried to figure out what makes it so good, but it's a flavor I can't replicate and haven't found anywhere.

Asahi Grill is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop shop that I love and adore. No frills, just fast service and incredible food that keeps you thinking about your next bowl before you've even finished the first one. I'll definitely be back again and again for that oxtail soup!“

As much as I enjoyed the stew, I was so sad that I didn't have more garlic chicken! It was amazing! Not overly garlicky or to hard. So freaking good. This is definitely my new favorite garlic chicken. We also ordered the squid luau and is was ono! Nice chunks of squid and just the right amount of coconut and sweetness. “I honestly love this place! I remember first time I came here there was a bit more stay so less of a wait. Tonight, I came with my 3 daughters and husband. They were very accommodating of my girls and upon getting there they offered a high chair for my youngest child. I got the spicy seafood ramen (I took the picture after having a few bites, oops) and my husband also had ramen but I forgot the name of it. We were both very impressed by the portion sizes! I can usually finish my ramen, but i was so full halfway through. My husband ended up finishing his, but he was full as well! My oldest loved the plain ramen with noodles they made for our girls. This was one of the only times I have seen her finish the bowl along with the brother, and ask for more! Not a lot else for keiki, but again, they were accommodating and we asked for 2 small bowls which helped us allow the youngest girls to try ramen. Now, I give 5 stars because the food was great, and even being short staffed the service was good too. I will forewarn that if you are in a rush, this place would probably not be good for you. I only say this because we saw one guy working register, taking orders, rending tables, and making the takeout. Then there was the one cook in the back. They are a great team, because I was being nosy and saw the huge order they made, while they still had our ramen out in a decent time. However, this did cause a little bit of a delay in the beginning. Once things slowed down, they had a good rhythm, and we were very well taken care of. I dont want to assume this establishment is family owned, but it could be with how short staffed they are. Anyways, if you want lots of noodles, and enjoy a cute hole in the wall, then I highly recommend! Make sure you check wait times if you're in a rush, and ask for little bowls for your keiki if they're tagging along. :)“

The broth was savory and comforting, the meat was tender, and the whole bowl was very satisfying.“
