“I gave 4 stars to food, as my walleye dish tasted "fishy" like the fish sat too long before cooking. However, everything else was excellent! My husband's meal was delicious. He ordered a more traditional Italian dish. The bread and appetizers were perfect. The tiramisu was wonderful and enough to share. The wine list was good too!“
“10 out of 10 recommend! Quaint little spot with big flavors! I had the Corned beef sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had. The meat was so tender and lean and the roll was about as soft as it gets. I can't wait to go back!“
“Ate at Charlie’s Place for the first time today. I had the gyro skillet and it was delicious! So much gyro meat and other toppings, plus delicious tziki sauce! Worth every penny, and great service too. Great addition for breakfast in Galena!“
“Not only was the atmosphere inviting but the staff as well. Much doesn’t beat being pampered for brunch. The lox and pop tart were next to none. You owe it to yourself to add a cinnamon roll to the table’s enjoyment as well! Fabulous. Anticipating our next visit already.“
“My wife and I had lunch here yesterday and the food and beer were FANTASTIC!! We really enjoyed our meal and Chad was great. We always ask about local beers and recommendations for food and he happily took his time with us. We felt very welcomed. We had a great experience. You can't go wrong having lunch here! Thanks, Chad, you have a great place.“
“We love coming to Brazen and it's really our capstone dining experience when in the Dubuque / Galena area. The menu seems to be getting more extraordinary each time we visit, which is remarkable given the tremendous talent in the kitchen. There are so many crowd pleasing options on the menu but what really struck us this visit were the vegan options which is saying something since we recently came back from a trip to NYC which included a visit to 11 Madison Park where we enjoyed its vegan prix-fix.This visit I had the beet soup (amazing) and we both had the vegan butternut squash as our main - elegant, approachable and delectable. Subtle mastery of a dish that's straight forward but layered in complexity. For dessert, the vegan Swiss roll was truly a standout and should not be missed. The kids feasted on a generous, perfectly cooked and sliced NY strip which screamed welcome to the Midwest with an amazingly flavorful but not overwhelming horseradish cheese sauce and prodigious bunch of perfectly cooked fries. Lucky for the adults, we escaped with leftovers and so I am not unhappy about lunch tomorrow. On the beverage side, Brazen also really delights - the wines were thoughtfully selected and the cocktails were very well crafted. The immediate neighborhood has lots of fun after dinner options which is a great plus. The service at Brazen is also a treat as well. It's particularly remarkable in the post pandemic era that this restaurant delivers friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere that is suitable for foodies, diverse groups and families alike.Make the trip and visit if you are close by - you will be delighted by this standout dining experience.“
“The food and staff are outstanding. The hostess and our waitress were extremely pleasant and helpful. I had the Italian beef and my wife had the Sloppy Joe. Mine was very good. Hers was epic. Also highly recommend the boozy shakes. This place is a must-eat-here.“
“Brought in friends to celebrate a birthday. Kim and her staff we amazing. We told her to create the menu for us and she brought us a beautiful menu. Everything was delicious and our guests got to take a bunch of leftovers home. The staff and service was fantastic and the cocktails Russ made were delicious. It was a great evening all around.“
“A down to earth, mama's kitchen that serves comfort food. I ordered eggs, bacon and toast along with a half order of biscuits and gravy. The food was as expected (goodly) and it arrived quickly. My son and I ordered the same and our bill was $20 ~.The wait staff was very friendly and made us feel at home.I'd definitely visit again.“
“The Morocco Supper Club is the Cheers of Dubuque. Everyone always knows your name and treats you like family. Our family celebrated a special event for my son there this past weekend and can't say enough about the facility, food, service, and staff!! Always going above and beyond to provide the best experience and waiting on 30+ people all at once for our group was no joke. They handled it all exceptionally and with ease. The out of town guests were wishing they lived closer to come more often!Whether you're grabbing a romantic dinner for 2 or hosting a large group, pick the Morocco. You won't be disappointed!!“
“This place is hands down best pork tenderloin I ever had. It was on a hamburger too, believe it or not. If you haven't gone here, go... the food is outstanding, menu has so many hamburgers, and the staff is friendly and cute too ? but really wow this place is great! Try it!“
“This was our first time at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was very good as well. We are from Dubuque, and had some friends from out of town to see the eagles and we decided to stop in. Very clean local restaurant. Will definitely go back.“
“What a great place to get a bite to eat with your family. It is homestyle food with great prices. Get a good cup of coffee and stay for some breakfast. Come on your lunch and grab a quick bite. The waitress staff is always polite. Family run and they are busy on the weekends. So make sure you try during the week if you don't want to wait. Or maybe go before the after-church crowd shows up.Kid-friendliness: Take my kids all the time. They eat everything on their plate!Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs to climb other then the front step.“
“This is the best chicken ever!but they are carry out only, and as soon as you get out of the car, you'll notice that your mouth starts to water, and the wonderful smell of fried chicken hits you,all up and down the block! The staff are friendly and helpful and we love their chicken and sides!so much!!“
“Exactly what any brewery lover comes to expect, great beer, excellent food with super crispy fresh French fries, homemade beer cheese sauce, and a polite friendly server to top it all off. No complaints, check them out and support this business.“
“Really enjoyed the servers, atmosphere, and food here. The gentleman who showed us to our table was very friendly. We had the green beans for an appetizer, a salad, and pizza. All very goodVegetarian options: Several options for vegetarian dishes. Green beans, salad, pizza, and polenta“
“Great place to hangout eat prior to stopping here but the food look great. The place was open style patio and stage. Pool tables and upper deck. The slot machines are token pay (paper ticket payment) so just a heads up hit the jackpot and get 5 out per 100 so gets tired waiting 1 spin every 5 but could buy a round if you win. Lol nice people working here as well.“
“very nice venue. it would most probably have had a nice ambience if we did not have the unfortunate incidence of having a group of loud obnoxious people (the type of people it would be nice to see turned away) get there right before us. What ever happened to dressing for dinner, or dress codes for fine dining? This is one of those laces that would really be nice if it had one. you pay for the experience, and that experience is lessened by those individuals that do not/ cannot act civilized, let alone respectable.“
“I had read review after review talking about how good the wings were here so I figured I'd make a point to check it out when I was in the area. I'm glad I did. Probably the best wings I've had. Perfectly fried and nice and big and meaty. The sauces are amazing as well. Go here and get your wings fix. You won't be disappointed“
“Olivia does an exceptional job assisting guests. Nice cozy atmosphere with a view across the bluff towards Iowa. Just awesome. The walleye meal with mash potatoes was delicious. I wish only the best for the new ownership moving forward. May you have continued success! One of the owners was there. Great guy! If I pass through this area again, I will definitely be dining here again. Reasonable prices and nice views! Reminds me of a view from along the Rhine or Mosel Rivers in Germany.“
“I had an excellent experience at Culvers in Galena. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm hello, and as I left, they thanked me for coming in.The place was packed and this team worked efficiently to serve every customer, and the cheerful atmosphere was contagious. My food was exactly as I had requested, and it was delicious. Thanks to this team of dedicated and friendly individuals for providing such a positive experience.“
“Love it. Cold pitchers of beer and friendly service. I understand the food is good as well. You can't go wrong. Note to staff though, if you're listening: get that speaker in the back, next to the basketball hoop fixed ASAP - it's really bad.“
“On Feb 2nd we went there for dinner with our two kids. Our son has an allergy so we called ahead to make sure they could accommodate his dietary needs. The lady answering the phone and the guy who waited on us were great. They took our sons allergies very seriously and the cooks made our sons meal special to avoid any issues. We really appreciate the extra care they took.“
“Out for drive to see color of fall. Hungry, and found this location online. Wasn't busy, able to sit down inside by ourselves due to late afternoon stop. Good pork tenderloin sandwich, hot and juicy. Had chili fries w/pulled pork...very interesting combo, meat very tender!! Nice interior, clean bathroom. Check it out when you are in the area!!“
“What a great place to stop in! A hidden gem! We had the "Hangover Burger", Walleye Sandwich, the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich " and a Shrimp Cilantro Lime Rice Bowl at our table. All exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was very clean and great to sit and visit with our dinner companions. Can't wait to try it during the day to watch the River from the rear of the place!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get to the front doors.“
“This is a quaint place to go for a decent meal and relax for a bit. As we were in Bellevue, IA it was recommended we visit this place for lunch. It looks like a gas station but they have food and some general shopping supplies. There was a bar side with tables and a separate room for just dining. The place was clean and felt like home. Service was very good even when a large crowd of snowmobilers showed up to do their yearly fund raising. It was loud but we understood this was not a normal Saturday lunch crowd. The mushroom burger was good, I would have it again. The fries were nothing special but still good. Our friends raved about the roasted chicken, a must try next time. There is not much else in this town, even cell service may be an issue but if you are passing through it is worth the visit.“
