Comfortable seating, the place is spotlessly clean, and our server was wonderful (been there several times). The food is fantastic. Buffalo chicken 'wich was amazing. Spicy enough but they don't hit you over the head with it. The Italian meatball 'which is also great. The onion rings are the *best*. It seems like onion rings are always crispy on the outside but slimy on the inside, but these are 100% crispy and bite-able all the way through.

The Impossible burger is huge. Generous portions of everything, and made just right.

I've had two different local (Lyons) beers from the tap, both were excellent. So many great beers to choose from!

Seems like the perfect place to just get a drink at the bar, too.

This will definitely be a regular spot for us.

“The restaurant was quiet and conducive to conversation. The food was just ok. My soup was good but the flatbread was a bit soggy. Service was attentive although server forgot giving one member of our party his soup. She didn't charge him though.“

“Took my family to MAS-ICNA convention and stayed at Hampton Inn next door. Gave Krave a shot. Probably 1 of the best experiences I've had in all of Chicago. Courteous, caring, comfort, and everything good in between. It gave me comfort that owner was of same background as I was to so that's a cherry on top in itself.

Food was top tier. Portions are beyond generous. Staff extremely thoughtful. I can't speak enough praise about this place. They deserve their success and so much more. This is my go to spot when I come back down again

“First the food was actually really great. The Korean ribeye was what I’ve been missing being a California native that’s used to eating Polynesian and Asian food. Pizza, Spinach dip, and the Martinis was not the best but good fruit mixes. Despite a few mix ups my sisters and I enjoyed the place. BIG ovation to the manager on duty Monday evening that listened and addressed the issue promptly. The staff are very professional and I’m looking forward to another visit soon. Great job guys!!!“

“I love Standard Market's Seeded Rye Bread! It is one of the best rye breads to be found anywhere in the west suburbs. Unfortunately the last two loaves I bought are so very , very salty? I do bake bread myself (not as good as Standard Market's) I am aware of the role of salt, sugar etc. and their proportions, so why this extremely salty version ?“

The owner Ted is a very passionate man about his restaraunt, and I admire that. It absolutely shows that there is concern and care that goes into every corner of the Modern Plate. Now, I was here for an event in the club room, but rest assured, I WILL be coming here for just the dining experience and the food. I live about 50min away, but it is...THAT good. “On August 16, 2024 my dear friend Eberta Wright celebrated her 103 birthday. We celebrated it at The Lazy Dog Restaurant in the Highlands were we used to go for lunch every Sunday after church. Our waiter was always Carlos. One Sunday he told me to let him know when she was to celebrate her next birthday because he wanted to do something special for her. I called him and told him it was here so he talked to his manager and WOW!!!!! Kyla, Alexa, Andrea and Carlos put together a spectacular birthday celebration. Mrs. Wright and I both were so surprised and delighted with what they did. The decorations, the gorgeous flowers the cupcakes that Kyla made and decorated to spell out her birth year. Everything was just wonderful. Carlos came in on his day off and got to have lunch with us. He is a very special young man. In fact everyone there is very special. The Lazy Dog will always be my number one restaurant not just because of the good food but because they are a group of very special people.“

“I attended Davern’s Tavern and Lounge over the weekend for a benefit. Wow!! If you’re looking for a place to hold a benefit, this is it! The outside grounds were very nice and spacious. The bartender and all the workers were so friendly and
helpful. Joe the owner, especially stood out. His love for Byron and this wonderful family was so evident. He was funny and held the guests attention, raising as much as much money as possible for them. He was more than just the owner of the bar, he genuinely cared about this benefit and everyone felt it.“
