This was our 1st time here..I ordered an Italian beef with fries..hubby ordered the combo..Beef and sausage with fried mushrooms. I would have given 5 starts if the food had been hot. The taste was very good.. but it was not hot..just warm. We received our food right away! So it should have been HOT.. service was good..they were friendly and again the food came out right away. We will come back again. Since we enjoyed the flavor of the food.. hoping the next time the food is hot. Considering the service and fast delivery of the food.. the presentation of it was good.. flavor was there too.. On a side note.. the hard rock music was definitely a turn off for me.. it wasn't a constant hard rock..“

“I visited the Crystal Lake Culver’s on Saturday, May 24th, 2025. I am an avid fan of Culver’s and I have visited 35 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri and Kentucky. As a resident of Crystal Lake I visit this Culver’s very regularly. The food was excellent and the service was quick. “I have come to this candy shop for the last 10 years. That should speak for itself. If it doesn't, I'll say more:I absolutely love chocolate malts. Any place I go that has them, I always order one. SweetSpot makes the most INCREDIBLE malt I have ever had anywhere, and not once in 10 years has it been less than amazing! I took a friend a few months ago, telling them that the malts are the best and she was skeptical. Had one sip and said it was "50/10."However, if you aren't into malts, there are many other things to love. They have the widest variety of candies I have ever seen at one shop, plus some types of candy that I haven't seen anywhere else in 15 years, not to mention soda in actual glass bottles! Good luck finding those in your local grocery store! It seems impossible to find a real *candy* store anymore, as opposed to a store with a candy section.If you're in the area, SweetSpot is a must-visit. The lady who took our order got it right and was pleasant.Since were a group of 6, I figured it would take a little longer to get our order. That wasn't the case. Not only did the order come quickly, but is also accurate. That was wonderful! When we were nearing the end of our meal, a gentleman, (Jude, I believe) can around with free samples of the flavor of the day (Mint explosion). Never has that happened at Colvers to me in the many times I eat at different Culvers! What a nice touch! Upon leaving, we got a cheery Thank you, have a great day and happy new year. Got a chocolate shake and a large cheese curd. Asked if we could get the shake made w chocolate custard instead of vanilla, we were told no problem. Asked why they usually use the vanilla custard for the Choco shake out of curiosity and the employee explained why without any hesitation. He was young but was well trained considering who knew the answer for such a minor detail.

Food and drink took a bit but that's fine. Slow and well done over fast and rushed anyday.

We get our stuff. Chocolate shake was good considering my mother drank half of it in 10 minutes or so.

Cheese curds were the most freshly done curds I've ever gotten from a Culver's before. Not reheated old cheese curds, not undercooked or oversalted cheese curds, but hot and finely salted cheese curds.

Probably the best Culver's experience I've ever had and that it happened on a Saturday of all days - the day most employees of establishments tend to check out - is astonishing.

Will certainly make a point of visiting this location more frequently as opposed to the Huntley location. Am curious about their burgers if this is the sort of quality I can expect on occasion (at the very least).

Tell your employees they did a fantastic job and that this customer appreciates their work. Y'all made my day, no embellishment, no overreaction. Honest to God made my day.“

“I was very happy with the employees that worked there, but i gave it a one-star for the food. I was very disappointed in the twist cone I received. It was like eating whipped cream. Don't get me wrong, I like whipped cream but not as a cone. The reason why it was like this is because the machine wasn't calibrated correctly in the beginning, or they ran out of mix, and when they added more mix. And then the machine when out of calibration. I know this because I worked in the food industry for 35 years.“
