“This is our go to place for very good food. This is a small family owned restaurant that did it right. Started with the basics and moved forward with great food and service at a reasonable price as the first priority. Wether your passing through or live near by pork barrel is a must try for bbq done right! With other options on the menu.”
“Employees are all down to earth, good people. Always ready to give good info on products sold. If they don't know about a specific product they don't pretend to, they will say so and do their best to find you the info you need.”
“Five stars simply aren't enough to encapsulate the extraordinary dining experience we had, thanks to Thomas, the most unforgettable server to ever grace the restaurant scene. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, it was clear that this wasn't going to be an ordinary dinner. Thomas greeted us with a flamboyant bow, his smile as bright as the chandeliers overhead, setting the stage for what would become an epic tale of culinary delight. Not only did Thomas possess an encyclopedic knowledge of the menu, recommending dishes that seemed tailored to our deepest desires, but he also had a flair for the dramatic. Imagine our surprise when, instead of simply describing the specials, Thomas launched into a spontaneous performance, complete with accents and a miniature set, to bring the story of each dish to life. The sea bass wasn’t just grilled; it was a valiant hero triumphing over the flames to bring its smoky flavor to our table. The plot thickened with the arrival of our drinks. Thomas, with a twinkle in his eye, declared a 'mixology performance.' Suddenly, the dining room transformed into a stage, with Thomas as the lead actor. He juggled bottles, set citrus peels ablaze, and crafted cocktails with such precision and flair that even the ice cubes seemed to dance in their glasses. But the climax of the evening was yet to come. As dessert was served, a sudden blackout enveloped the restaurant. Whispers of confusion and excitement mingled in the dark. Then, as if by magic, Thomas appeared with a glowing cake, candles twinkling like stars in the night sky, leading the entire restaurant in a chorus of 'Happy Birthday' to a guest. It was only then we learned that Thomas had coordinated with the staff to create this dramatic blackout as part of the surprise. As we departed, Thomas presented us with a personalized sketch he had drawn on a napkin, capturing the night's adventures. It was a memento of an evening where dining transcended into the realm of storytelling, with Thomas as the masterful narrator. In a world where the ordinary is often enough, Thomas reminded us of the magic of extraordinary service and the power of a meal to become a memorable adventure. Bravo, Thomas, for not just serving meals, but for serving joy, excitement, and a touch of the extraordinary.”
“I waited in line for almost 45 min got there at 730 pm, but by the time i got to, the window grill was closed. Now i could have done a walk-up window, but i have a knee infection, and walking is very hard. I told the employee i was here before 8 but in line. Her comment was, " So grill is closed now." I guess i won't be back until knee is healed.”
“Love everything about Poke Munch! The food is always spot on, delicious and generous portions. The service is always friendly and they always make you feel like they are so glad you are there!”
“Krissy was incredibly personable and made the experience so much more fun than it already was. She helped us significantly on our axe throwing skills. She is truly an AXE-pert!!! I e will be back again real soon!!!”
“I LOVE POST COMMONS!!!!!Post Commons has been a staple in my life for years! The building is incredible and the staff are so friendly, accommodating, talented, etc.My favorite drink of theirs is the Lavender Fog and their variety of bakery items have yet to disappoint!I am looking forward to attending their wedding expo this next weekend! I am always finding excuses to drive up from STL for some Post Commons :)”
“It was Tuesday, so I had to have tacos. My favorite taco recently has been shrimp. Most of the places I frequent, add large grilled tacos. I was surprised to see small shrimp bites here at Casa Romero. They may have been small, but the flavor was still huge and enjoyable. I'd order them again. When I arrived, I was pleasantly greeted and told I could sit any where I wanted. I chose a booth and was quickly served complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crisp and warm, which tells me they were super fresh. The salsa had just enough spice and was thick enough to cling to the chip when dipping. Before my entree, I also enjoyed a Top Shelf Margarita and an order of Bean Dip. The Margarita was strong. It was strong enough that I only had one and I typically enjoy two. An order of Bean Dip for me is much more enjoyable than a side of Cheese Dip or Guacamole. The mixture of white cheese and refried beans, doubles the flavor. The ambiance is your typical, bright Mexican colors and sorta tacky decor. For my own personal preference, I could dim the lights a tad. It was extremely bright and the white ceiling lights are a little overpowering.”
“Vegetarian options: The veggie pizza is delicious and is loaded with veggies…many that you don’t normally find on a veggie pizza , like black and green olives and pickled peppers. I’m sure it could be made without cheese.”
“There is just no other Chinese food restaurant in the area that measures up to this place. Tried it for the first time tonight and was shocked by how much flavor the food had. The General Tso's chicken was actually spicy and the vegetable lo mein had so many vegetables in it. The crab rangoon is the best I've had in the area, and the egg rolls were huge and stuffed with flavor. And this place is so cheap compared to other places in the area! You get the most for your money, that's for sure. I will only be coming here for my Chinese food from now on.”
“Absolutely lovely! I will highly recommend this place. We stopped in a little close to closing, but were still welcomed in with friendly staff and amazing food. Definitely worth the stop!”
“Food was good & fairly quick. The restaurant gets really loud when it's almost full. The iced coffee machine could be moved into the back room to reduce noise.”
“Delicious food, fantastic vibes, and I think I'd try anything if Melanie was telling me about it! Everyone at the table loved their meal, and we look forward to going back.”
“Great times, great food, excellent root beer! This place is a true survivor of the days of dive-ins. Whether you dine in, dine in you car, or take it to go, this place is an excellent choice!”
“The food is better than it’s ever been which is no surprise since the owner is shacking up with the founder of Cleveland heath. I hope they stay together for the sake of my tastebuds!”
“It's always busy for a reason. Food is good. But my server last night I've had a couple of times now and he is probably the best I've ever had. Great at his job.”
“Live music regularly here is nice food is good and standard pub type sandwiches, salads, burgers, wraps. There is also a rib eye on the menu. Service was good even when it was absolutely packed.”

Artistic food fusion, full of creativity and a bit of experimentation. My favorite restaurant!Dietary restrictions: I was able to find GF abd some non or limited dairy options.”
“For seniors, this place is great. The band starts at 5:00 and goes till 8:00. So you can eat a great dinner and listen to music at the same time. I love their fish Reubens on Friday!”
“I don't know how to say how much I love this place. It's not fancy, but the simplicity is where it's at. The staff is always awesome (many have been there for quite some.time, so they must be treated right by management, which is cool) and the food.....the food has never disappointed. The egg drop soup and bibimbap are the best ever. I wish I could give 10 stars. Please don't ever change.”
“The pot roast taste just like how my grandma used to make it. Personally, I have never had one thing bad from here. I love that they have Ski soda. Homemade food in 5 minutes. Some may think that it is pricey but it is worth it. A Must Try!!”
“This little corner cafe is a great hidden gem in the heart of downtown Alton! The atmosphere is wonderful, and so is the food love that we are supporting a local small business and the people that run it are very pleasurable to deal with! Come check this place out Alton!!!”
“Have been several times!! Love this restaurant! The food is high quality, delicious and served in generous portions. Cute decor and love the outdoor dining option. Great service and location!”
“Spontaneous drop I'm. What a GEM? !! We had regular and seafood gumbo, red beans and rice and corn bread. All outstanding. Looking forward to trying the entire menu.”
“Shivers is an amazing local staple, I have never had a bad experience here. My personal favorite items are the Italian cream sodas, the cows (specifically root beer), and of course the concretes (I like vanilla with marshmallow fluff, banana, and sprinkles.)”
“There were a bunch of us, locals and out-of-state, so we called ahead and they said to come on down. We had a big long table and they did a super job of keeping the pizzas coming. Great flavors and choices. Our waitress, Nicole??, was very attentive along with the rest of the staff.”
“Great karaoke show. Expensive drinks for a cash bar! I enjoyed the constant threat of violence and aggression from the regulars. Unfortunately, no one did anything more than flex. Maybe next time. I'll be back when I'm in the mood for this again.”
