“We recently stopped by Tony D’s on a Saturday night because we saw they were having a band. Not much else to go on, we ventured into the wild on a path of discovery. When we arrived, there was no parking and we parked a block away. Now. I have to say that I have been to Tony D’s a couple of times before. I’ve always had a good time. That night was no different. Let’s walk through this.We arrived and all the tables were full EXCEPT ONE! Like it was meant to be. Immediately after arriving the wait staff came over to greet us. Our waitress was sweet and had a pep in her step.We soon realized that Yankee Cowboy was the band that was playing. Nice! Not the best, but they are very entertaining. So that was a plus.We ordered some wings with 2 sauces and the brisket nachos. The wings were meaty and well prepared. Their sauces spicy, but not ridiculously hot or obnoxiously gimmicky. The nachos were good, had a decent portion of brisket. I do wish they had more BBQ sauce, good for bar food, but not amazing.Anyway, the evening went well. Yankee Cowboy did their thing and the whole crowd was into it.Security kept the overzealous partiers in line and asked 2 to leave, so I felt very safe.I kinda struggled with this review because I always have a good time there. Problem is I always feel like something is missing. Anyway, I will continue to watch local bands at Tony D’s and hope that I find what I’m looking for so I can push my rating to a 5.Thank you Tony D’s for a good time!“

“The best birria I have ever eaten in my entire life. I've just been there for the first time and it's simply incredible. From the first place, I was involved in something difficult to explain, so many years passing and never having given them a chance or knowing the goodness of their food.“

“Penelope's Vegan Taqueria Andersonville hits the spot! Honestly, this is probably the best vegan Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. The portions are a nice size with many great menu options. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food and ambiance are great. The Chunky Quesa Taco (cheddar cheese quesadillas taco topped with asada, onion, cilantro, lettuce, tomato and green salsa) is a must try! Overall, if you visit, you will not regret it!“

“Incredible, well priced taco truck. Pure classic, wonderful tortillas, meat, onion, cilantro, and that’s it! Highly recommend getting chicken because the way they grill it is mwah, so good. Bomb burritos as well, all at significantly cheaper prices than surrounding places.“

“Lucidos has THE BEST Al pastor in the entire city of Chicago . I've been to a few dozen taco places in Chicago and this is the best of the best Al pastor. On el trompo is a good sign that they'll be delicious. On top of the spit it a whole pineapple which tastes so much better a little bit charred and not too sweet - unlike using canned pineapples as some restaurants do. The service is very friendly and it's a casual ambiance. I will absolutely be back. Love this place.“

“Beautiful restaurant, screams chicago definitely very unique I had asada and pastor tacos. they were delicious they had a good amount of meat in em definitely worth their price. The horchata was delicious as well not at all watery. A taco place is as good as their salsa...if you like spicy their red salsa does the job although both are very delicious. “Excellent, literally perfect shrimp tacos like Cali style. Chicken burritos are always great but they’re made differently every time which is a little annoying, I wish they could be more consistent with the ratios. The wait times can be frustrating as well as it can take over 20min to get your order unless you order for takeout. The lines get really packed at peak hours. I’ve seen plenty of people leave bc the line was just unruly. They could make some improvements with efficiency.“

“Truly authentic, and really incredible food. I don’t know how they get their Carne Asada so tender, but it’s really fantastic! Their Al Pastor is to die for as well! Also recently tried there Carne Asada enchiladas with Mole sauce. Homemade Mole was blissful! My wife had their chicken enchiladas. Really incredible. They have this wonderful tangy cheesy chicken filling and she got the green sauce on top. Sumptuous! I’ve eaten good Mexican food all over the US, and in Mexico, and this place is a real gem. “My wife, daughter, and I stopped by early this morning and it was great to find this hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and prices were more reasonable than several other Mexican restaurants in the area.I had the Chilaquiles (without meat or additional onion) and it had just the right amount of taste and spice. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros which she liked but were a bit too spicy for her. It was her first time trying them. I found them D-lish (I love me some spice!). My daughter had the breakfast burrito... it had chorizo, scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, and 1 or 2 other ingredients.There was plenty of parking and a small outdoor seating area as you walk in if that's your vibe. Definitely will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu. The hours are limited though so you'll have to plan accordingly.“

“Nice little neighborhood place. The hours are odd so you have to check if they are open. I think they close mon-wed. I found this place looking for queso birria tacos. For $15 you get 4 decent sized tacos with the consommé. Great meaty tacos, I'm a big guy and I usually could knock out 8-10 tacos. I could only eat 6 here. The guacamole was big enough for me and my buddy. They have a juice bar inside and we ordered off of the server's recommendation. She recommended a pineapple drink and it was solid. We ended up getting a second order of drinks for the road. They don't have parking but you should be able to find something across the street. Place is clean and the cook wore gloves. I appreciate when a place is clean and people are wearing gloves. The waitress/server was very helpful and had great recommendations. She was easy to talk to since I don't speak Spanish. There was a bunch of online orders and takeout which in my opinion is good. That means there's no old food, they sell it all and buy fresh. Bathrooms were clean. I noticed the table next to me ordered a latte and seen they had an espresso machine. I haven't tried the coffee so I can't talk about the quality. Just that they have an espresso machine. I like this place a lot. Very friendly staff, great food and great amount of food for the price. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you.“

“I stopped by this place for a quick dinner. Let me be honest, I didn't come with an high expectation and just went to have some food. But the tacos here are fantastic. Steak tacos are by far the most juicy and tasteful tacos, along with the fish tacos. Spicy pork and shrimp tacos are also great. I will definitely go to the place next time.“

“Real Mexican tacos! Tacos and tortas are very well served, the people is very friendly and the food was out at a super speed. Restroom was very clean too. The tables and the whole place look a bit old but clean, clean, clean!Kid-friendliness: Our kids love plain tacos but even for the picky eaters they have chicken nuggets, fries, burgers and quesadillas, so I would say it is a very good place to eat with kids. Plus the beverages are delicious.“

My husband and I knew we wanted to do great and delicious mexican food for our wedding and we were struggling to find someone who could do that in a large venue setting, and was willing to travel to Janesville, Wisconsin. I found Rossy through tons of research online and so happy I did! She is so incredibly kind and we enjoyed taking the drive to Chicago where she cooked right in front of us a variety of options to try for our wedding.I know that my husband and I probably over communicated often in the 9 months leading up to the wedding with tons of questions and making sure all would go right. “Regular price and size tacos al pastor are really good. On Monday and Tuesday tacos are supposed to be 1 dollar but if you don't ask they won't tell. Why would you advertise that in social media if you don't offer it to your customers and instead just give them regular tacos and when customer ask, you say that you need to ask for those ? ? If you opt for the special taco be aware that you would get 80% tortilla and 10% grease scraps.“

“The food here at least for the carnitas, are hands down the best, i live near the ORD airport and used to drive down all the way down to the southside for some good carnitas. Thank goodness, I no longer have to since finding this gem of a restaurant. Another indication that this place is great is because it always has customers, never empty. Oh, and their champurado is da bomb! I haven't tried other stuff on their menu like tacos, flautas, etc. But I can vouch for the carnitas. staff is also friendly and very clean.“
