“I am so happy they are opened again. They were temporally closed which finding another restaurant that services the same quality of food is a challenge in this area. We always order take out and the food has great flavor and cooked well. We always order the fried rices and lo mien which any of the versions are good. General Tsao and Sesame Chicken.“

“Lao Sichuan has the most authentic and consistently amazing Chinese food to be found anywhere in the U.S. Having spent some time living in China while I was in undergrad, there are certain flavors that I crave, which your run of the mill American style Chinese restaurant will not have. My wife and I live in St Charles and make the 1 hour 20 minute round trip at least once a week to get our fix. The food is that good. The owner is seemingly always there, and obviously genuinely cares about ensuring quality in what is served every time. Our favorites are Chengdu Style King Pao Chicken, Ma Po Tofu, Beef in Pure Cumin Powder, Toothpicks Lamb, and the Xiao Long Bao. I cannot for the life of me fathom how this restaurant does not have a higher rating. It is the best. Try it. You won't regret it.“

“I worked here many many years ago. I was 15 I used to come in and do dishes for a few hours a day. Anyway the food here is amazing. Kind of ruined me for all other Chinese places. However having said that I will say since the pandemic and covid all that stuff right they've gone down a little in quality. I don't know if it's the cook. The egg rolls are half the size they used to be. Portions are a little smaller The chicken is a little smaller pieces. But hey what are you going to do it's rough out there. I'm going to order in about 30 minutes lol“

We used to live in the city where there's far more variety for Chinese food, so we were so happy to find this place that is really close to food you can find in the city.“

“This place is located at a Chinese supermarket food court yet they offer great Taiwan food. I brought my Taiwanese friend here once, now she is willing to drive back just to have meal here. We ordered the stinky tofu, tofu is very flavorful. The veggie pot is so delicious that I saw from someone else sitting there and I could not help but to ask the name of the dish.“

“Very filling portions and super affordable prices.For $13 I would this (a small size) with a nice side of white rice and spicy chili oil on the side. I definitely will be retuning because it’s so flavorful without being overly saucy or greasy.

“I normally order food from here but I haven't done a review, The food is always hot and delicious A must try is the spring rolls they are delicious crispy and fresh tasting along with the meat skewers the beef very delicious very fresh tasting moist. Excellent customer service and they always honor their coupons. Their food is always fresh tasting and it doesn't taste heavily of oils which is a plus highly delicious food.

Vegetarian options: In addition to the vegetarian options they do have gluten-free options too for those looking for food that is gluten free they do have a lot of vegetable options and if you're looking for a vegetarian egg roll I highly recommend trying to spring rolls they're very good and they are vegetarian there is no meat in there whatsoever.“

“I loved the vibe as soon as I walked in. It is authentic and homey. I love the decor, its not too cold either. I tried the Lychee Strawberry Green Tea with Heart Jelly and Rainbow Jelly. The tea was a bit and it was definitely a sweeter drink, but I loved it. The jelly isn’t too firm, like some other places, it was perfectly balanced. Not too much ice, but also cold all the way through. Very delicious! Sweet staff! Great conversation!“

“I've lived here over two years and only eaten at A's once, and I remember the food was so so. Thought I would give them another try. Wow, really good food and value. I ordered online and was surprised that I was only order #3 this late in the day. Went in and the place was empty. Made me a little sad, but the lady working the counter with her two very young children was super sweet. I walked from my nearby apartment, got home and the food was still nice and hot. I ordered the General Tso's dinner special and upgraded to shrimp fried rice, it also comes with 3 egg rolls, who does that for less than $11?? Huge portion of food! Also got an order of crab rangoons, you get 8 for less than $6?! They're excellent with tons of that creamy filling. I'm very pleased and completely full lol! And, I have enough food for dinner tomorrow. I will definitely be back!“

I wish they would look into opening a restaurant in the St. John Indiana area. They would make a killing, as all the Chinese restaurants in the area are mediocre at best.

“This place has some of the best Chinese food I have found near Hanover park/streamwood/Bartlett. Mongolian Beef is more traditional (spicy and not sweet, packed with beef, white and green onions and includes the crunchy white noodles). The fried rice with shrimp came with good size shrimp. The crab Rangoon is also packed with filling and you can tell they change their oil frequently. We also enjoyed their beef lo mein and sesame chicken. Their food is not salty, but if you like that add a little salt yourself to bring out a tad more flavor. Don’t plan on dining in, it’s not the greatest atmosphere. It is clean but clearly meant for carry out first.“

It's a nice family owned & operated business & we always like supporting those being business owners ourselves.Pros: Homemade egg rolls that had great flavor. Good Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice, & Lo Mein.Cons: Not my favorite dumplings, but that doesn't mean they weren't good.Everything was made fresh to order, and overall had good flavor. It always takes time to get used to a new restaurant, because your used to the precious place & how they made their food.“

Live in Florida and miss this. When I moved to Rockford and Chicago I would still drive all the way to Elgin for this great Chinese food. “Food by the scoop! It's fast and cheap. Shan-Li's charges $1.25 for a generous scoop of the majority of the items. The food is already made, so it may not be the freshest, but it's fast. The ever so popular crispy chicken is pretty good. It's breaded, deep fried and sauced. They have 3 different kinds of fried rice and lo mein. The hot and sour soup was good, too! They have a self-serve water station by the register. While I was there, they had a constant stream of customer. There's plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal.“

“The woman who takes the orders can be rude occasionally, but the food is always good. The wait is often longer than expected aswell.

Parking: Hundreds of spots, as it shares a lot with jewel/other businesses.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is very few handicapped parking spots, and there is a curb to get in, that would make it difficult to get in without walking all the way around.“
