“I was waiting for my cookies when I observed a worker who was rolling dough. She stepped away from the dough table, and went on her personal phone, then immediately went back to touching the dough. Wearing the same pair of gloves the entire time. I made a comment that she should probably switch gloves if she is going to touch her personal phone and then peoples food. Just wanted to be sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s gross.“

The best thing is that they do have a lot of savoury options as well.

We tried their Almond Croissant which was okayish, Feta Spinach Quiche was really good and loved their Mango Cream Bun.

The Coffee was good as well.

The place is clean and the service is very warm.

“My grandpa ordered cookies from The Cookie Garden for my grandma and mom every Valentine’s day for as long as I can remember. After he passed away last summer, my sister and I decided to keep the tradition going and surprise them. They both had flavor preferences and I was unable to remember them. I emailed them to see if they’d be able to look up his past orders. I received a response the next morning from Jeannie and she was able to find the past orders and told me the flavors he usually order them. She remembered my grandpa and had planned on calling to check-in with him, since she was expecting his order this year. The shipping was fast and the cookies arrived on the day I requested, they were also able to accommodate to their flavor preferences. The cookies were amazing as usual and my grandma and mom were surprised when they found out who sent them. Thank you so much to Jeannie and The Cookie Garden! 💕“

“Cute place! Decided to try since I work down the block. I had the Tarantino, no pickled onions. My high review is basically for the schiacciata bread which was AMAZING! Very fresh, crunchy on the outside tender on the inside. Overall it was a tasty sandwich however the roasted turkey breast was cubed which I found strange. I never had cubed meat on a sandwich. I would have preferred sliced turkey which I thought is what I would get on a sandwich. I would suggest the mention the meat is cubed because maybe I would not have gotten it. Could have used more meat“

“We’ve utilized Black Cat Bakery for birthday cakes in the past, and each time they are absolutely stunning as well as delicious; but we were even more blown away by how absolutely perfect our wedding cake was this May. My husband and I were treated so well for our cake tasting in the months prior to the wedding, and the flavor combinations are as always, incredible. I trusted Madison to design a cake that matched our theme after choosing our flavors (this is HER art!), and she completely nailed it! It actually made me tear up how perfect it was. Our guests had nothing but compliments on both the design and flavor of our cake, and I’m already looking forward to eating it again for our first anniversary even if it risks being freezer burned 😆 You can tell that the staff here really loves what they do, and they put their hearts into their desserts and creations. “Genuinely amazing pastries & drinks, I’ve visited Lasa Cafe twice, and on the first visit I got a bit carried away and got one of each pastry I saw, unfortunately no pictures from that occasion!

I’ve tried their Pan De Sal, Ube Cheese Pan De Sal, Spanish Bread, Asado & Corned Beef rolls, Ensaimada, Ube Panna Cotta, and then of course the Bibingka & Bibingkinitan. Everything was delicious and unfamiliar to me, all flavors of the Bibingkinitan were terrific, which included, Ube, Pandann, Banana & Salted Egg.

Not only was I surprised by the quality and flavor profiles of the pastries, but the drinks caught my eye too. On the first visit, I had the Ube Matcha iced latte— the matcha was very traditional and high quality tasting, then the subtle sweetness and nuttiness of the ube complimented it just right.
The second drink I’ve tried was the Saba Con Yelo, a delicious blended banana drink that had some sort of tiny pearls inside and almost a flan-like custard on top. Definitely getting it again.

This is a great Filipino cafe to get into if unfamiliar with that cuisine of food/desserts like myself. The workers themselves are very nice and greeted me upon entering and exiting, patient and helpful when asked various different questions.
