“Dog n Suds in Grayslake is one of those places that truly deserves the support of the community.

Obviously everyone knows Dog n Suds for the classics—the root beer, hot dogs, burgers, fries and that old-school drive-in feel—but what really makes this place special to me is the people behind it.

Jason, the owner, is just an all-around great guy. He genuinely cares about his business, his customers, his employees, and most importantly, the community that supports him. As another local business owner, I know firsthand how difficult it is to run a restaurant, especially these days. It takes a tremendous amount of time, sacrifice, stress, and dedication that most people never see. Jason continues to show up, work hard, support the community, and do everything he can to keep a place like Dog n Suds going strong.

I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for business owners who don’t just operate IN a community, but actually become PART of that community, and Jason is absolutely one of those people. He supports other local businesses and organizations, gets involved, gives back, and genuinely wants to see Grayslake and the surrounding communities succeed.

And on top of all of that, Dog n Suds is just a fun place to go. There aren’t many places left that have the character and nostalgia that this place has. Grab some food, get a cold root beer, sit outside and enjoy it. It reminds you of what a locally owned restaurant is supposed to feel like.

If you haven’t been there in a while, go support them. Places like Dog n Suds don’t survive because of giant corporate marketing budgets—they survive because communities continue to show up and support good local people.

Jason, keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve built something special, and you should be proud of it.

“Dr. Margolin is by far one of the best physicians that my family has had historically. While, he's a very busy doctor and tends to overly multi-task during scheduled appointments. His compassionate demeanor and genuine concern can not be overstated.Understandably, Dr. Margolin's occasional passive disposition can be a little off-putting at times. I'm confident in his abilities to seek answers and provide the care that is necessary for my family and for myself. As, a current patient, I am satisfied! :)“

“Everything I’ve tried so far has been amazing! Fresh ingredients, clean establishment, and friendly staff. The steak and chicken Philly and burgers are my go to but the gyros are amazing as well. The fries are addicting! Give em a try and I’m willing to bet you’ll be a regular.“

“Tried the new menu item Gyros. Hope they keep it on the menu. They were great. The Tzatziki Sauce which makes a Gyro was perfect with enough cucumbers. We now have a new place to go to for Gyros. Last, I had just about everything on their menu and everything is delicious.“

“You can never go wrong with Luke’s!!! Everything is exceptional. They have a large menu to pick from. Some would say a large menu is bad, but it’s not, it gives you the variety to “always find something good to eat”. And…variety is the spice of life!!!

I enjoyed the Italian Beef Meal with Mozzarella Cheese, unfortunately, they put the cheese on the bottom and you can’t see it, heavily dipped, fries, extra, extra crispy and a drink. There was enough Italian beef where I could’ve made a second sandwich.“

“Kong Dog in Vernon Hills was SO good!! I got the Hot Cheeto Kong Dog with the chicken sausage and it was seriously amazing 🔥🙌🏼 The perfect amount of crunch and flavor and everything tasted super fresh!

The staff was so nice, everything was clean, and it was just such a fun place to try. Definitely not your average corn dog 😂 If you haven’t tried Kong Dog yet, you need to! We will 100% be back!!“

“Every time I go, there's a guy greeting In a cheerful manner. I love the atmosphere of this location. I work in waukegan so when I go I usually just pick up but I love going there and being greeted in a cheerful and happy manner. Food is always good and Cajun fries are delicious!!“

“Juan and Jose are beautiful salt of the earth people. You leave feeling lighter than when you walked in because they're so kind and genuine. The banana milkshake was awesome! The fries are on point and the tacos are bangin! Be sure to get the red hot sauce with it. So Much flavor, but watch out, it's spicy!“

“Regardless of which location you go to whether some if not all locations are owned by the same person/family, you can never go wrong with Sammie's.

Whether it's a Chicago-style dog, Italian beef sandwich, gyros, burger ( Samburger) or Maxwell St. Polish sausage, fries; Sammie's knows how to do it and they do Chicago-style grub extremely well.

First time ever trying this particular location was this past April and was definitely well worth the price. Chicago-style food is a way of life and a culture that should be practiced if living in the Chicago area.

Clean dining room with friendly service and delicious bites at still reasonable prices make this venue another hot spot for awesome Chicago fare. I wish for many years of continued boomin' business for the owner(s).“

“This is one of my favorite places to go to with friends, because I love boba, donuts, and apparently, Korean corndogs. They have a wide variety of all of the above, and the donut flavors change regularly. Last time I came, they added a LOT more baked goods, which could spell concern for less quality later, but I still bought a pistachio croissant and it was delicious. Everything is really pricy though, but it’s personally a luxury expense for myself.“
