“We've not been there since 2017 due to relocation but have nothing but fond memories of Dover Straits. When we bought our house in Grayslake in 1995, our realtor took us there to celebrate. We continued going, mainly for birthdays, anniversaries or impress out of towners, and were never disappointed. We have immediate access to super fresh seafood in Florida but miss the ambiance and supper club vibe Dover Straits provided. Loved that the owners always greeted us like we were worth a million bucks.“

“The food was really good and fresh. The gentleman that sat us and took our drink order was really nice. However, the gentleman that took our food order kind of kept forgetting we were there, never offered refills, and we were only one of two tables. He even mixed up our payment at the end, we almost paid for the other guests. Other than that the food was good, I will be coming back, but double checking my receipt before leaving.“

“I've been trying local places around. So far this is my favorite Chinese. I will say, i was hesitant to try due to the prices. I'm can be very cheap at times. But the food looked good in the pictures and the restaurant has been in business for 50+ years so i decided to give in a try last week. I ordered the chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, pork egg foo yung, pot stickers and crab ragoon. When i tried that pot sticker, it was the most delicious pot sticker i have ever eaten. And the egg foo young, delicious! Tasty flavorful sauce and the patty texture, egg to bean sprout and meat ratio, and taste was perfect! I have been searching for that consistency in an egg foo young for years and finally found it here. The other dishes were delicious as well. I requested for the chicken and broccoli to be in white sauce. Yum! It was worth every penny. Take my money please! I came back again today. I had to. I got the chicken egg foo young and more pot stickers. An order for myself and one for my husband. He loves the pot stickers as well. While i was there both times, i saw a lot of people come in to dine in and get drinks. Seems like a very chill environment to come have some food and drinks with friends. I am very satisfied with this restaurant. It has been a royal experience. Hope they stay open for the next 50 years!“

“I've been coming here for awhile, and have always loved the food. The difference is lately (last couple months or so)I've noticed a change in the presentation and cleanliness of the restaurant, the morale of the staff, and just the entire energy of this place has changed. Disney bingo is a great example. That place was insanely busy yet everyone was happy, service was great, and the guests didn't suffer because of the volume of business. Then the other day I met the new manager! It all started to make sense. I can't remember her name but she was so cute and professional. Her charisma is contagious and I just feel like you guys are doing a great job and moving in a great direction. Happy holidays to you all and thanks for the amazing food from our family.“

“Y'all if you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Zaza's Restaurant is an absolute hidden gem! 🍝 The portions are incredibly generous, and the flavors are out of this world. It's just a short 20-minute drive from our place, making it the perfect spot for a delicious meal. It's a local favorite, it’s only open on certain days, so plan accordingly! “I am from the South but I'm currently living in Wisconsin, and I have been looking for a place that serves fried catfish. I finally found it in Captain Porky's, and they did not disappoint! The staff is so nice, the place is very clean, and the menu is very large so if you can't find anything to eat you must not be hungry. This has now become one of my favorite places to go and eat!“

“This is our family's favorite restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, dinners with large groups...At this point we've been here probably 10 times and never once have we had a bad experience. Every server goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a WOW experience. The food and drinks are amazing every time. Last night we decided to try somewhere new since we just ate at Primo the previous weekend. The prices were the same yet the service and food did not compare. From now on we'll stick with here, where we know we'll have an amazing experience.“

“I just had to share how amazing the staff was at helping me out. It was the first time ordering online and I had unknownly put Wasabi in my bowl, which I had unfortunately believed to have been a bad bowl. I was able to communicate with the staff and they were so kind and were able to fix my bowl for me after coming out of work. Absolutely grateful to the staff and love the food, will definitely always comeback :)“

“The food was overly salty. Not a usual there. They ran out of cheesecake and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was part of a dessert but it would have been better with the ice cream. The server did offer cherry or blueberry ice cream instead. Taste buds said it wouldn't work! And the peanut brittle was just chopped peanuts. The service is always top notch!“

“Small place, not meant as a full blown restaurant, first time ever here the food was very excellent, good flavors, huge scrimps y my dish (i was surprised) portions were enough for two people but i ate it by myself. Prices were very fair . The waitress was very nice, sweet and respectful. I will come back again and again until they change the cheef or flavors.“
