“We were staying in the area for an overnight and stopped for an early dinner. BBQ was perfectly cooked. Hubby had ribs and I a brisket sandwich, both were great. His ribs fell off the bone, as they should. Mac & Cheese tasty as well. Atmosphere was nice, staff friendly, and service good. Would definitely recommend if you’re a BBQ lover.“

“We've not been there since 2017 due to relocation but have nothing but fond memories of Dover Straits. When we bought our house in Grayslake in 1995, our realtor took us there to celebrate. We continued going, mainly for birthdays, anniversaries or impress out of towners, and were never disappointed. We have immediate access to super fresh seafood in Florida but miss the ambiance and supper club vibe Dover Straits provided. You can choose 3 different street tacos with rice and beans for $15! The staff was very attentive as we were outside dining. And the waiter left us a pitcher of water for the table. From Vegas, Hawaii, Minnesota, south barrington, Northbrook and Chicago we have been to them all and usually love the food and ambiance. Unfortunately my wife's meal was a true disappointment last night. They tried making her steak three times and each time came out wrong or beyond well done which is not what she ordered unfortunately. After the third attempt the manager finally offered to take it off the bill and my wife simply had appetizers and sides for dinner. Not our usual Ruth's Chris experience but certainly was memorable for the wrong reasons.“

“I really really liked this place. The food was great good. Mashed potatoes lime my mom made(and she made food mashed potatoes:) The steak kabobs were amazing. Tender and perfectly cooked. The drinks were both generous and flavorful at prices that beat the local area(same for the food real value).
Amazing time with the piano player. Am I using AMAZING to much...well, for me was the best night In a week of Chicago area including a Michelin mention downtown (for me this was better and honestly maybe 1/4 of the price).
