“Usually great service and people, but you guys missed the mark tonight. The delivery person outside tried to give me at least 3 different orders that weren’t ours, and when we got home the chicken nuggets were missing the sauce, and the chili was missing the toppings and sour cream. Not a great outing tonight.“

“We went with our Burger Club to Lucky Burgers (a.k.a. Jelly Cafe after dark or 4pm, whichever comes first).

Jelly Cafe is a breakfast and lunch place open 7am until 2pm. Then they switch over to Lucky Burgers which is open from 4pm until no one is there and they want to go home. Though technically I think they’re open until 8 or 9pm.

There are a handful of items on the Lucky Burgers’ menu: about 5 variations of their classic burger, a chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and waffle fries.

When we went, the place was empty and never got busy. Which opened the door for one of the owners, Scott, to regale us with tales of days gone by from his childhood in Evanston and the famous people he knew, grew up with, and worked with. It was nice hearing these stories and it was nice to give Scott something and somebodies to talk to as well.

The place has a large parking lot and is nice and clean on the inside. There is a tiny area with slot machines and a small bar/counter at the entrance.

The burgers are all smashburgers. They come as singles or double patties. Go for the double as there’s not a whole lot of meat once they’re smashed. The differences are the toppings. Scott recommends their housemade dijonaise sauce which is good, but ask for it on the side. The cook slathers it on the burger and that’s all you can taste. Once I scooped (you read that correctly) the sauce off my burger, it was a pretty good burger. The meat is seasoned well and cooked nicely and the bun holds up (despite dripping in dijonaise).

We all shared the chicken tenders as an appetizer. Five nice sized tenders come in the meal and you can choose your dipping sauce. Scott recommended their honey mustard which was very good and the ranch wasn’t bad either.

He is also johnny-on-the-spot to refill fill your drinks. I seriously thought that I would float away.

The best part is the price. All said and done for a burger, waffle fries, and a soda, with tax and tip is like $15-$18 bucks.

It’s a nice place that I need to go back to and visit for the Jelly Cafe side. AND return for their burgers, tenders, and more of Scott’s stories.“

“Regardless of which location you go to whether some if not all locations are owned by the same person/family, you can never go wrong with Sammie's.

Whether it's a Chicago-style dog, Italian beef sandwich, gyros, burger ( Samburger) or Maxwell St. Polish sausage, fries; Sammie's knows how to do it and they do Chicago-style grub extremely well.

First time ever trying this particular location was this past April and was definitely well worth the price. Chicago-style food is a way of life and a culture that should be practiced if living in the Chicago area.

Clean dining room with friendly service and delicious bites at still reasonable prices make this venue another hot spot for awesome Chicago fare. I wish for many years of continued boomin' business for the owner(s).“

“so ordered combination teriyaki and garlic parmesan wings and an order of macaroni and cheese, the teriyaki wings were fairly saucy and reasonably tasty move on to the garlic parmesan wings which had zero sauce however they did have Parmesan on them. according to the manager they didn't have any sauce on it so they parmesan them up. now let's move on to the macaroni and cheese I've had macaroni and cheese out of the box from Aldi that had thicker cheese sauce. so I questioned the manager about this his exacting answer to me was we buy our ingredients for that at Walmart. so you buy your ingredients from Walmart when you're a restaurant so that's not actually acceptable and the lake county health department standards for a restaurant. you could literally pour the cheese sauce out of the cup so I question the manager on both of these and he's the one that told me this and didn't seem to give any care about our dinner... so I'm just leaving this up for everybody else they don't seem to care. didn't offer to make anything right and well they will never get our money again. if you want some macaroni and cheese Heck just go to Walmart and buy some you might get the better quality than they make.“

“This was my first time going to a Steak ‘n Shake. I really was impressed by the ordering method if doing it on the screen inside. The inside of the restaurant is nicely clean. The old fashion theme is really nice too. I got the triple steak burger. Dyammm, It fills you up! If you want to easy a lot, go here! The fries were also good but the cheese on top could have been a bit hotter. Overall, not a bad place to stop by, or even before you go to the movies!“

“I ordered catering from Eggville Cafe a friend of mine said their catering was amazing and I had a family gathering coming up I had to try it out! Everything was perfectly cooked they had so many different options to choose from I ordered the kebabs and a side salad, some potatoes some meatballs and a couple other things that they threw in everything tasted amazing. “My family of six ate at Culvers in McHenry on Tuesday, Dec 31 about 1:30. We were greeted with a pleasant hello. The lady who took our order got it right and was pleasant.Since were a group of 6, I figured it would take a little longer to get our order. That wasn't the case. Not only did the order come quickly, but is also accurate. That was wonderful! When we were nearing the end of our meal, a gentleman, (Jude, I believe) can around with free samples of the flavor of the day (Mint explosion). “Kooker’s is my favorite lunch time spot when I’m at the office for the day. They make their own natural cut fries that I love cooked well done. They have daily specials that are great deals, although all of their prices are fair. They have limited seating, but you can call ahead and pick up an order and I think they do delivery. When there, make sure you look at the specialty board that is to the right of the register. There you will find items that are not on the regular menu. Today I had the poutine with pulled pork—amazing. I highly recommend this locally-owned burger (and a lot more) joint.“

“This is a new Culver's, still great food, in a modern package. You must try everything but for your first time go with a butter burger, cheese curds, and leave room for custard of your choice.

Next time (there will be a next time) look beyond a burger and try the cod, pot roast sandwich, or soup.

“Alexes Vienna Beef and Kronos Gyros always has a nice friendly man take your order at the register and the french fries and the Gyros and Char broiled Hamburger is the best I have ever tasted in Mc Henry County Alex's thanks all you nice friendly men who work there I would highly recommend this place to stop at and eat lunch or dinner you will not be dissappointed and the food is fantastic and he gives the customer the best bang for his buck !“
