Went here consistently with colleagues for lunch and it has never failed me. “Came here for the first time and made the hour long drive from Chicago. I got the chicken shawarma wrap and a beef shawarma in a pita. The chicken shawarma was very good and had lots of flavor. The fires were fresh and crispy. The beef, however, had no flavor at all and was super bland. Was disappointed with the beef. I’d recommend the chicken to anyone.“

“Nice little neighborhood place. The hours are odd so you have to check if they are open. I think they close mon-wed. I found this place looking for queso birria tacos. For $15 you get 4 decent sized tacos with the consommé. Great meaty tacos, I'm a big guy and I usually could knock out 8-10 tacos. I could only eat 6 here. The guacamole was big enough for me and my buddy. They have a juice bar inside and we ordered off of the server's recommendation. She recommended a pineapple drink and it was solid. We ended up getting a second order of drinks for the road. They don't have parking but you should be able to find something across the street. Place is clean and the cook wore gloves. I appreciate when a place is clean and people are wearing gloves. The waitress/server was very helpful and had great recommendations. She was easy to talk to since I don't speak Spanish. There was a bunch of online orders and takeout which in my opinion is good. That means there's no old food, they sell it all and buy fresh. Bathrooms were clean. I noticed the table next to me ordered a latte and seen they had an espresso machine. I haven't tried the coffee so I can't talk about the quality. Just that they have an espresso machine. I like this place a lot. Very friendly staff, great food and great amount of food for the price. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you.“

I went through drive-thru (a bit quirky but doable), received my food (the order was correct), got to my destination (east of Manheim rd) the food was still hot. That hot dog and fries was delicious. It was around $15, which, when places like McDonald's want $13 for a Big Mac meal, there's really no point in NOT paying the extra $2 for something that tastes this amazing. I find nostalgia for a restaurant can play a negative role for those who don't have the association, but that wasn't the case for me who only ate here for the first time today. The Chicago dog and super taco were solid but the combination fried rice was the hero for me. Never thought l'd find this kind of wok hei flavor from a Chicago Red Hots institution in Maywood, IL that would remind me so much of the fried rice I grew up with at my Chinese immigrant family's restaurant in Arizona. Honestly just throw in some bean sprouts and you'd have a 1:1 copy. I may not have the same nostalgia that a lot of the usuals have with Al's, but that familiar taste of home is so present in every bite of this fried rice. I'm immediately transported to teenage me devouring a large combination fried rice at my own family's restaurant after working a full day's 12hr shift in the summer and immediately passing out in my bed when I got home. I wish I had started coming here sooner.“

Our food came quickly and our usual extra requests were met with care. When we were finishing our food which we both enjoyed, the owner who had just come out from working the kitchen to relax and asked us how everything was before sitting down. I made a point to approach and say how good the coleslaw was. The owner responded very appreciatively and explained that they try to make it with good intention. Overall, we felt like we were contributing to the livelihood of good people that took a long time to build. So so worth the drive I refused to touch anything til I got home so I could enjoy that first bite. So far since then I haven't seen much hostility toward the employees unless it's from impatient customers who struggle to comprehend that they're not the only people waiting.Anyways, I've received exceptional service lately. Mainly from a very kind tall man with a beard and slightly longer hair. I wish I would've asked for his name.There's also another taller man who has a little stubble and glasses, he always greets me and calls me sir, which is cool because I'm actually transgender and I get a confidence boost each time I see him. Thank you. :)The food has improved as well, and their speed is top notch. I will admit Friday night was very busy BUT the employees handled it very well and professionally.Thank you for your hard work, guys. Anyone who says "fast food isn't hard work" is SO wrong.
