I even asked the cashier to give tap water and they said that they do not have cups. “I have been a frequent visitor of fry the coop for many many years. The food has always been consistent and has always been very fresh! I was thrilled to come back after some time and my experience was amazing. I do have one downside though, I asked for a to go box and I knew the one they provided wouldn’t fit all of my food so I asked for a larger one. There were clearly ones bigger but the worker said, a bit passive aggressively “those are for the tender plates” now I understand that but the box that I got initially didn’t even fit one chicken tender! The worker did give me another box but that wasn’t much help because my chicken tenders and fries had to go into separate boxes. Other than that the atmosphere was nice, the interior was clean. and it was an overall good experience“

“I stopped by Pop's Italian Beef today with my usual plan of attack — the legendary ribeye steak sandwich that normally has my name written all over it. But then I saw the sign…

And suddenly my carefully crafted sandwich strategy went right out the window. Instead of the steak sandwich, I audibled and went with three of the cheeseburger specials, because at those prices it felt almost irresponsible not to participate in the celebration.

Apparently the entire population of Lyons had the exact same idea.

The place was absolutely slammed. The poor girls behind the counter — Cecilia and Celeste — were running around in circles like contestants in the Italian Beef Olympics. Orders flying, people everywhere, the grill working overtime. They were hustling nonstop and doing their best to keep the whole operation moving.

Because of the anniversary madness, I ended up waiting quite a while for my food. At one point I started wondering if I might still be standing there when they roll out the banner for their 47th anniversary.

But when the burgers finally arrived? Totally worth it. Juicy, cheesy, messy in the way a proper burger should be — the kind where you need a pile of napkins and absolutely no dignity while eating it.

So yes, the wait was real, but between the great food, the anniversary chaos, and Cecilia and Celeste working like absolute champions, it was still a memorable stop.

Pro tip: If you see an anniversary special at Pop’s… bring your patience. The reward at the end is still delicious.“

“As soon as you walk in, you get to see their menu and easily just say menu 1 or 5 and get your order placed quickly and be able to sit down as you watch the cars pass by, the cashier is a nice person to talk to about your day while you wait for your food.

The food is perfect, drink choices are great.

While waiting for my dining partner to arrive, the place was mobbed in minutes (6 pm on a Friday), but the 2 counter staff and the kitchen staff never stopped moving. We got our meals fairly quickly, considering the rush. The best thing? The food was great! Perfect seasoning on the fries, the tenders are HUGE (like 2 and a half combined into one monster piece).

I got the Tender / Mini / Fries combo, and my wife got the Mac combo.

The spices are perfectly balanced - I had mild and medium on my chicken, my partner had mild on hers. She has a much more timid palate, and she was good. If you get mild on the Mac combo, make sure the sauce on the Mac matches the chicken sauce - otherwise, that's *a spicy*.

I can not compliment the counter staff enough - they were moving so fast. I told the one she should try out for the Chicago Bears; she did a supply run in 10 seconds flat! Even the customer next to me agreed! =)

“We ordered the classic wings. It comes with fries and a slice of bread. The chicken wings were crispy and very good. We had lemon pepper sprinkled on it. We got the honey bbq and crispy’s homemade sauce. Both were good. We would go back there. You can eat inside but we saw mostly carry outs. They cook your order fresh, so it takes about 15 minutes, but you can call your order in for pickup. I looked up best wings near me and this place had 4 stars! I totally agree. Better ratings than the obvious places.“
