“Visited their new Lakeview location this past Thursday, and timed it right so my Pizza was ready right after the Cubs game ended. It was only a 15 minute walk to the restaurant. First time ever eating Milly's and I will definitely be back! Customized my own pizza with Pepperoni, Sausage and Ricotta cheese. Opening the box for the first time, this pie looked perfect. Generous amount of toppings, beautiful caramelized crust. First bite was nice and crispy and the entire pizza was full of flavor. I sat in one of their booths and ate half the pizza there! The staff was super friendly also, both guys were talking to me about the history of the company, and you could tell how passionate they were about making these pizzas. I will definitely be back again!”

“Amazing all around!!! The food was delicious and service was great. The pita was incredible and the hummus was truly authentic. We had the schnitzel which was super crunchy and the sauce on the side was very flavorful. The patio in the back is so nice and spacious and the word burning oven inside really sets the vibe. The drinks were also unique and delicious. You have to go!!”

“We waited fifteen minutes for a table, just for another group of the exact same size to show up and be immediately sat before us. We didn’t say anything cause it was busy, and we were waiting right outside (which we were told is okay), so they probably forgot we were there. Just something to keep in mind if you visit during a rush ;)

Other than that, the pho seriously lives up to its hype. It was worth the wait. Everyone at the table agreed, and I was with some folks who know good pho cause they live near Little Saigon in CA. The flavors were balanced, it was more savory than sweet which I enjoy.

I started with unsweetened oolong tea and takoyaki, followed by Goku Tonkotsu ramen, I chose the non-spicy option, and it was absolutely delicious. “How could a bar cure my aversion to celery?!? I’m not sure, but it happened. I met a friend here, and after a fun couple of hours sampling the epic novel of a beer list, we went for the moule frites. I was mainly interested in the frites, especially when I saw the celery on the mussels. But I did try them, and their broth. The broth!! It was otherworldly. After a few bites, I realized the magic ingredient had to be the celery. And the rosemary, thyme, onion, and probably a beer brewed by the Belgian monks. Go here, people.”

“Celebrated my wife’s birthday here with three other families, as we were in Chicago between baseball tournaments. Not only was Coda di Volpe able to accommodate a same day reservation for a large party, but they went above and beyond, from personalizing menus with a birthday wish, to adding a special touch on dessert. With four teenage boys in tow, the menu provided ample carbs and comfort for them while we enjoyed a broad sample of the offerings - all were very happy with their meals! Cocktails and wine selection was also on the mark. Kudos to Jeremy and his staff. We came all dressed in white and he told us he knew he wanted to do something special for our party… they knocked it out of the park! Looking forward to coming back to Chicago and making a beeline for this restaurant… a no-brainer.”

“I recently was visiting Chicago and as a habit, I searched for Best Gluten Free bakery and discovered Defloured. What an amazing place. As a Celiac, finding good GF baked goods is rare to find. Wow what a selection. I purchased a chocolate cupcake, two love pucks, cinnamon rolls, poppy lemon bread, baguette, and aNutella sandwich cookie. Everything was really delicious. I mean world class quality. I now plan on making regular visits to Chicago so I can load up and fill my freezer with possibly the best GF baked goods in the U.S. I’ve tried a lot.”

By coincidence I checked it out a few days ago and I ordered a double cheeseburger with onion rings and it was delicious! I also had a chilli which I recommend if you’re into dips! Very good service. “I had an engagement party for my Son and his fiancée. It was in the lawn next to our building on the lake in Chicago. A casually elegant setting. We had a lot of different food prepared professionally and I made salads, and we grilled steaks, burgers and chicken. Khmai was enlisted to do all the appetizers, some additional salads and various spreads and dips. I have Mai my approximate budget, let her know what I was preparing and planned to cook and asked her to do her best to come up with what she thought would be best as complimentary. She outdid herself. The staff is lovely to work with, helpful and genuine. My guests were blown away by the delicious and complex tastes we are not used to since most had never had Cambodian food prior. Fermented catfish dip? Wonderful, all the rolls veg or not were terrific, shrimp toast was my personal favorite, salads crisp, spicy and everything felt special and unique. Flavors so rich and vibrant felt like a special treat. It was perfect served with standard picnic fare a little elevated. The atmosphere of the party was pitch perfect, while retaining a quiet all American type picnic feel, the quality of both the food I had prepared and grilled, plus the array of flavors the appetizers added made it seem really special and definitely a treat and celebratory. It felt like someone really cared and tried to make it memorable and my guests were over the moon for this food. I would absolutely recommend dining there, we have a few times and it’s a family feeling you just can’t force or create without it being real. Thank you for your heart and talent to this wonderfully talented mother and daughter team!”
