“Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. We went back for the first time in years a few weeks ago and were absolutely delighted by everything. “The first time I ever visited Ruk, the owner was incredibly nice and offered many recommendations on things to do, sights to see, & places to go as I’m not local to the area. We chatted for a while and I enjoyed the cashew pad Thai I ordered with peanut sauce. Going back year after year, Ruk is a staple for dinner the night I arrive in the city. Always nice to catch up and relax there.“

“best sushi in the chicagoland area for me! this little stall inside Hmart Niles’ food court is such a hidden gem. my husband and i actually come here once a week now, it’s officially become our comfort-food spot. i’m not a raw-sushi person at all, but they have amazing cooked options. i'm obsessed with the salmon yaki roll. seriously, it’s that good, always fresh and consistent.

we chatted with the owner once, and he told us he even makes the wasabi from scratch. the wasabi alone deserves an award, so flavorful, not the harsh store-bought kind. the owner is almost always there, making the sushi himself and running things with such a friendly vibe. he truly deserves recognition. this is literally the only sushi my stomach can tolerate, so that says a lot.

and it’s not just the sushi. their entrées are unforgettable too. my husband swears by the chicken katsu: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the portion/price is super fair.

“Great food, great experience! They charge by the plate. You take a plate of your favorite foods off the conveyor belt, and dispose of the plates in a reciprocal on your table. Plates are counted and that's how you are charged. Really inexpensive, and delicious high quality food.
