“My friend and I stopped in at Firewater BBQ in Elmhurst on Thursday Dec. 1st for the "Granny's Lunch Box Special" which is available daily from 11AM-2PM. This was my second visit and my friend's first at Firewater. We both ordered the Angus beef brisket sandwich with a side of 3 cheese Mac & Cheese and a soda. The brisket (smoked for 22 hrs) is amazingly tender and flavorful. It was piled high on a toasted brioche bun and is served with your choice of sweet or spicy BBQ sauce or both if you like. The Mac & Cheese is sooo silky-smooth and creamy and compliments the brisket quite well. There are complimentary pickled jalapeños and sweet & spicy pickles available as well. My friend was so impressed by this amazing brisket that he placed another exact order to go to bring home. The cashier who also took our order was very friendly and polite. We told one of the chefs, Shawn, (pictured) that we really enjoyed the brisket and complimented his skills. My friend and I will both be returning to Firewater BBQ and we'll definitely be letting our family and friends know about this wonderful BBQ spot.“

“Been going to this place before they moved to this new location. They moved to this new location the weekend of the covid lockdowns. They sold their food to go, and it was one of the first places we supported. We have been routine customers, and enjoy our time there, every time we go. The barbecue is fantastic, the beers are amazing, the staff is tremendous.. And if you're a fan of hot wings, doing their hot wing challenge, hopefully annually, is a must. Don't skip on this place.“

“Hubs and I came last night for an impromptu date night. The holiday décor was absolutely beautiful, you can tell a lot of effort and attention went into it. The staff were all super friendly and helpful! We arrived during the dinner rush, and given it’s the holiday season, I’m sure there’s an uptick in guests, but we were still seated within about 15–20 minutes, which was impressive. There is a one-hour dining limit during this season, I understand they’re turning tables quickly to accommodate everyone, especially having worked in the industry myself. However, I was really disappointed that every single item we ordered was cold. I don’t usually like to complain, so I didn’t mention it at the time, assuming it was just due to how busy the restaurant was. But after reading other reviews, it seems this may be a recurring issue, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure I would return, but on a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Hopefully they can work with the kitchen to make sure the food is served hot, because everything else about the experience was great!“

The food is always a hit, the vibe super cozy--especially when it's otherwise freaking cold 9 months out of the year in these parts--and the staff is seasoned and excellent. Also good for takeout and delivery when you don't feel like cooking.“

“Best tasting BBQ in this area! Most of the negative review are about portion sizes, and I agree that for the price you may not get a lot. But considering the cost of meat at grocery stores, I get it. It's not cheap to produce BBQ of this quality. Be sure to try their ribs & brisket.“

“this place is really good. BBQ with great smokiness and flavor. we come here often and love the brisket Chile, ribs, smoked turkey and of course those amazing burgers. last time I was there it was $5 Burger night and it's amazing that they can serve a great smoky burger on fresh roll with fries for this price. full bar with a good selection of beers“

“This is my mom's favorite BBQ place in Chicago and she took me today! I was blown away by the brisket salad I had, along their honey mustard, Chipotle ranch, and ESPECIALLY the homemade Chipotle peach BBQ sauce. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, overall we had a great time with amazing food!!“

“We had an awsome time at the restaurant! Our server Akasha was wonderful! She made sure our order was correct and that it arrives to our table in a timely manner! “Everything is absolutely delicious, tender and full of flavor. This place legit has the best Cornbread Muffins with Cinnamon Butter that I have ever had from a restaurant. It was super moist and not overly sweet. Definitely my family's new go to for BBQ when we don't feel like making it ourselves.“
“I have used Johnny's Catering & Bar-B-Que on at least three occasions where they proved that their catering and dishes are consistently delicious, their staff courteous and professional and their delivery of the food on time and cordial. Guests at my home events love Johnny's Catering food.“

“I recently visited the Friday evening of the Labor Day weekend, about 6:30pm. I usually set my expectations lower anytime they’re especially busy/any holiday, Of course there was a significant line, but you could tell they had prepared for the last summer holiday rush. The line moved efficiently and I placed my order for 2 extra large tips. To my pleasant surprise I was in and out in just under 20 minutes. Both orders were tender, plentiful, well seasoned, and that mild sauce was slamming. The quality didn’t suffer one bit, even at the end of a busy Friday evening on a holiday weekend. Kudos on a job well done.“

“Jerk chicken, was very tasty, macaroni was okay in my opinion, many people may give ot a 10, cabbages I give it a 10, sweet potatoes were good to me they, were not sweet, but more on the healthy side, waiting time was minimum, the service was good. One major negative was a boot was on my car, I did not like that experience period, the guy took it off in less then 10 minutes, I never had a boot on my car.“

“I thought this place was dirty, when it wasn't and I thought the food wasn't good either, but was pleasantly surprised that the chicken wings and rib tips with bbq sauce actually hit..This place is a criminally underrated rib and chicken joint(Chop Steaks too)just off the food alone and I bet that not one rib shack in the city can beat their prices ..“

“It's so nice to be out at a restaurant! This location is poppen so be prepared to wait a lil bit. We always sit at the bar and Angela was busy! She was friendly and never stopped moving! Our shrimp was salty to me but my husband at it all.“
